Nice build and what a generous gift from your stepfather! I'm hoping to obtain a Rendition card someday - I will be doing exactly the same as you, I think, by putting it in my 200MMX build, which currently uses SLI. You're right about the games from this period. I love the idea of having all the parts you own in as many PCs as you can build. Originally I just wanted one example from each generation e.g. 8086, 286, 386, etc. but when it gets to the 486 I think it's important to have a slow one and a fast one. The same is true of the Pentium, I think. It's a neverending task!
This video really makes me want to finish off my MS-DOS 586 build, its sat in a functional limbo while i've made the move to shift some other PCs and sell them on to make space for my own builds, free stuff is great until it takes up space not being used, if i can source some VRAM for the Trio 64V+ to open its bus width up, source a K6 Processor, a few modern updates and it should be a lovely system for this same era of gaming, though no 3D card for me, just a faster processor as i do prefer that sharper software rendered look. my pentium 3 550 and Viper Ultra take care of the early 3D games as i was able to build a whole system for the price of a voodoo card :) Besides, the board is a lovely GA-586-HX with labelled dipswitches for easy overclocking!
Haha. Thats exactly how I started off, building machines for different combos, and quickly ran out of space for them so had to stop. Now I do the reverse, keep all the cards out of builds in boxes an build and use 1 combo at a time. Nice p233 build!
Thanks, man! I really want to do a Rik type machine with this one and have it always ready to go and filled up with games and quality of life improvements. I see many editing faults in the video, but it is what it is. I'm happy it's out there anyway 😅
Back in the day, I didn't have any experience with games for Windows, just a few on magazines with ports for N64, Sega Saturn, PlayStation and Dreamcast. They look awesome, fluid and beautiful. So happy with this new video, Sucra!
Thanks, Rafa! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I always appreciate your support, it really pushes me to try to make more content. I used this exact system for the Locadora.
Thanks for the video Sucra! They work together perfectly, I had a Pentium Pro 200 with the Verite and VooDoo1, maybe I will find one someday that is definitely a build I would love to have at my disposal to play almost every early 3D game, nowadays I would use an MMX or PII.
Hey, that's great! That's still quite the system to have. A Pentium pro should be enough for those video cards, I'm pretty confident they are bottlenecks here in this system, but that's kind of beyond the point of the build. Thanks for the support!
I put my Pentium MMX 233Mhz in a super socket 7 motherboard. Runs at 300Mhz at 2.9v. 100% stable. Combined with nVidia Riva 128 and Voodoo 1 4Mb. It runs almost all DOS games and Windows games up until Unreal 1 / Halflife 1 (barely). I also have a Soundblaster 16 and Aureal Vortex 2 sound card in it.
@@Thomas.Falcone Thanks! Yeah, sorry about that, I was a bit in a hurry to finish this one to go to the airport for the current trip I'm in. What games do you think are a nice fit for the system?
Couldn't get more from Pentium "1"architecture unless you either ready to do some heavy overcloacking and/or could find rare Pentium 266MMX used in some laptops and embedded systems. And both require some workarounds and are not exactly era accurate. So I guess you couldn't OFFICIALLY get more from Pentium 1.
I need this exact build now, great mix of parts dude, some real nostalgic voodoo magic.

Nice video! A few games I played back then, a few I didn’t. I never had a 3Dfx card to go with my 2D card, so Descent was always 320x200.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Even today I like to try these things out, so fun.
Awesome seeing a new video Sucra!👍
Thanks! I'm happy to finally post again! It's been a while.
Firing up a game with your voodoo card for the first time was such a big bump in graphics, i still remember that moment.
@@scienide77 it was fantastic. Once you saw it you couldn't go back
Great build! :D A cool combo of 3D accelerators and a lot of versatility. P.s. I also cover the back of my SD-to-IDE adapters with electrical tape.
Thanks man! This thing has kept me many hours in the lab "capturing" and "testing" 😅
Love that build, can't believe it works after the capacitors life time is already expired.
Indeed, you'd be surprised hah thanks!
Fantastic machine. So many options and the nostalgia is endless. Great video!

Yey you are back! 🎉🎉🎉
Hey! Long time no see! 😅
Very nice video! I like compact Baby AT form factor for retro PCs despite the more chaotic cabling vs the still current mATX or ATX form factors.
Hey, thanks! I would love to build a full tower as well, and even a horizontal desktop, but those cases are difficult to find in good shape down here.

Very interesting video
I'm glad you liked it!
Fantastic machine, motherboard was stored properly so it worked without any issue it looks like brand new.

Hey Chris! Thanks for watching! I hope you're doing great!
Very nice video 👍🏻 I was expecting a little bit more of gameplay footage, maybe next time 🔥

Have fun, and thanks for sharing.
Hey Sucra, I am happy to see you 🙂
Hello! I have an idea for a video... can you talk about the retroPC in your country?
2:45 i had a PC once with this processor, in 1997 my dad bought the first computer, pentium MMX 166mhz - 16 Mb ram - 2Gb HD QUANTUM
Vindo lá do RIRIS
Nice video SUCRA!
What are those converters that you stick the tape on? IDE to CF or something similar?
Hey! SD card to ide. Very handy.
Don't forget was power vr in that period too, I think quake 1, 2 looks best on rendition but tomb raider look better on power vr
I haven't had any experience with Power VR, but it's definitely on the list. I love trying different hardware and apis.

Yeah, the way it is should suffice though.
I think there was an apl named heidy3d
Hmm I've never heard about that one. I'd definitely be interested though.
