I disagree with the idea of the Sombra rework being bad - I think from a gameplay perspective it perfectly imitates the vulnerability seeking aspect of a hacker - like how Zarya kinda spots people with her bubbles sort of like a fitness trainer. Whether shes good meta-wise is irrelevant as long as the rework makes her fun to play - which imo they nailed that aspect of it. The new translocator is an adrenaline rush - and they know that considering the fact that they track your low health translocates, and the anticipation of whether your virus will land or not also creates a nice hit of dopamine.
New ult change is depressing though. They shouldn’t give her more CC. In my opinion the rework should’ve changed hack, because it’s still really frustrating to play against.
If I were to change hack, I'd only make it disable channeled abilities on use, and then for the rest of the duration of the ability hacked enemies have notably slower cooldowns. You'd still basically be "disabling" some abilities after they get used, but the enemy would still get one good use of their ability without being totally shut down for a few seconds.
being fun to play but unfun to play against was always a problem with sombra and it was never even addressed. hack is an unfair and unfun ability and it still is. Nothing changed, they just gave her more damage and removed her ability to cross-map tp, which never should have existed to begin with. She's still a character with perma-invis and ult negation on a cooldown. Horrible rework for anyone but sombra players.
I have been playing a lot of Roadhog in Arcade and custom games. It is very much fun to play him and I find it very simple and easy to play with his rework and his new ability. I am a casual player and I see it as a plus to me.
on your comment about sombra's rework being bad, I disagree heavily as it made her much more fun to play and to face. the thing that irked me the most is that you said that she was sitting around the same win rate as before. this isn't evident of a rework being bad. if they were hoping to increase her win rate then all they would've done is buff her. the win rate wasn't the issue, it was the philosophy.
ow2 was a huge improvement over ow1 on how she cant lock you out of your abilities for 6 seconds now and now her new rework is better to face because she cant translocate halfway across the map onto a hacked mega if youre winning the duel@@Wild_Dice
@@patricklodge1576I mean it depends, If it's a tank sure, but an dps or support I'm gonna be honest I don't even think it's a skill issue when there is legit no counter play when it comes to an 1v1 or a spawn camping Sombra, Mainly because She can just turn off your abilitys, Hit you with Virus which does Damage as well as bleed damage and unload her whole chip into you before you could turn around and this is Especially worse with Console players, Not to mention even if you do manage to damage her she can legit throw her translocator get out of there turn invisible and can just finish you off before you can get to a healthpack or go back to spawn, The true and best way to beat a sombra is just stay near your team or leave spawn with a buddy.
I do agree that her rework was bad, it did nothing for the character but turn it into a healer killing machine that you literally can't counter, plus they had the brilliant idea of removing part of what made the hero special so they could push her into the line of a generic DPS, which is really sad
my favorite new roadhog interaction is the newest one with him and junkrat from his voice line “Bacon.” when you’re in the spawn room: Roadhog: “Say Bacon one more time 😡😡” Junkrat: “Bacon…. One more time. 😁” 🤣😂🤣 Junkrat loves to piss him off lmaooo
I feel the trap is a much more fair version of Sojourn's old orb thing. It used to slow, but it wasnt fair cuz we couldn't see it coming. Roadhog's trap however is very punishing for not being observant
Also to add to the character part of the trap one thing I found interesting about hog and junk rat specifically, is that they’re tinkerers. Junkrat is crazy and has an obsession with explosives and he made his launcher to me he’s kinda a play on the mad scientist, but also junkrat isn’t that smart exactly he’s just crafty and resourceful when he applies himself. Road hog to me seemed like a bigger brother to junk rat someone who enables his ideas and plans but adds well needed input silently through his actions and demeanor. And also he rides a motorcycle and is an older man who possibly has ties to the military or a militia of sorts. So it wasn’t that surprising to me someone like him has some mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
I always thought since overwatch 2 that hog needed some kind of trap thing to combo hook with for the one-shot so I'm glad its been done. My trap idea was a mini whole hog in a can he would deploy that would have, say a 2 second wind up then spray whole hog pellets in all direction, with a much smaller range, including the knockback. The idea being that if you timed the wind up, you could hook even tanks into the trap and it would just blend them since all the shots are going straight though them. I guess that could have the same annoyance of dealing with a bastion where unless you have a tank ability to negate the hook, its just safer to take cover while its going on so the trap would need to only fire pellets for a short time but that would still be powerful for just denying the enemy from entering into a circle of the map. I like the change they made since it gives hog more than one number to change over and over (hook-shot damage). :D Thanks for making this video, a lot of creators don't give blizzard due credit for how slick their hero designs can be sometimes.
Imo he's in a pretty healthy state, could just use a spread reduction on his shotguns. Bastion needs a nerf or a rework though. Playing against that hero is so painful
Make his spread and falloff pretty tight and effective at longer ranges, and then reduce the damage to like 100 instead of 120. He'd become better at dueling other squishies and have more effective range, but slightly lower DPS means he isn't a tank buster. A new ability for right click would be fun, like maybe you get a few shots from a light grenade launcher (like in the reveal cinematic), and make shadow step reload shotguns, but other than that Reaper doesn't really need much to be good.
He's already good but I do agree that his abilities feel at least "outdated" I think he would be funner if his teleport was turned into something like the Blink from Dishonored.
Mauga is also poking to see what he can get out of roadhog in conversations, and its by far the most weve heard him talk in one convo, albeit telling mauga to fuck off but hes talking a lot more lately
@@thatonegaminglatias4345Yeah, I don’t even go for the one-hits in most scenarios, I just try to go for people already low, or put them in a position where my team can easily follow up on the hook.
rosdhog rework failed. he feels the same and trap is simply unfun. hooking people into it just feels really mid. not fun to be locked down there and the thing is sad

She is just as frustrating to play against as before, especially when getting spawn camped.

I think the trap is great, both character-wise and gameplay-wise. Makes Junkrat and Roadhog into an even more dynamic duo.

That game is a classic.

Roadhog in lore in both the brains and brawns, watch junkertown: the plan for a clear example
I really hope they take a similar look at Reaper

As a roadhog main in overwatch one to never playing him overwatch 2, i am very pleased with the buffs, but i miss right click ngl
I don’t just want to get better at the game, I want get better with Roadhog.

The hog rework feels like what he shouldve been all the way back at release of overwatch 1. I love it SO much
With the overbuffed Mauga, Roadhog is a F tier again.. soo sad

so uh maugas busted and rocks hogs world so that sucks : (
They nerf hog his 1 shot cuz it felt unfair but now give him trap so he can better 1 shoting people again? I just felt hog not get rework enough
At least the Trap effectively puts the one shot on a 12 sec cooldown.
