You deserve all of the happiness Lexi. I’m glad that you are in a better place now that you are back around your friends and family. That was so sweet and supportive of your dad to suggest you move back home. As someone who will never have that option that really touched me. I love and will always watch your videos.

As a mom, this makes me so happy - that moving home brings you joy, and that your parents welcomed you back with open arms. I wish that home and family felt that way for all 🫶. Thank you for sharing that with us! I hope that 2024 brings you happiness and a better balance ❤

For me, screen time as a whole isn’t as important as looking at the individual apps I spent time using. If I spent a ton of time on Instagram, that’s usually an indicator that I’m doom scrolling and miserable. But watching TH-cam on my phone brings me a lot of joy and I don’t feel bad about it!! 💗

I really appreciate your honesty and openness regarding your move home. I went through a similar situation several years ago; I come from a big, close family and a loud, busy household. So when I moved out for the first time, I was so lonely and couldn't handle the quiet. It took me two years to admit how badly those feelings were affecting me. My parents suggested I move back home and it was the best decision! It really helped me to realize how important family was to me, and when I moved out again a few years later, I had a better understanding of what I needed/what I wanted my own home to feel like, and was MUCH gentler with myself and my needs. I'm so glad you feel like you're in a better place and happier now that you're back home! ❤

Audiobooks changed my life. I went from 1 book read between 2012 and 2022, to 54 books listened to in 2023.
This year I'm getting back into video games for work purposes, so I don't have as much time, but audiobooks are still a big part of my daily routine.
I just can't listened to anything too "atmosphere' driven, for example I tried Stephen King, and I can appreciate those only when I'm in the proper calm environment. But otherwise classic, epic, heroic, portal, urban fantasy, all good ! Sci-fi too !
    Blessed be Audiobooks

I moved home last year after a terrible time living with a partner and I struggled for a long time with the stigma of being an adult and moving home. Honestly having the privilege to save money and also attempt to live closer in the future, along with not being lonely because I have my doggos here, are some huge upsides. I was so so so unhappy for a lot of reasons but habitat for me is super important and being somewhere comfortable trumps anything that anyone might negatively think from the outside.

I adore houses next to flowing water, such a lake, a river, or even the sea, my positive energy soars up & I'm simply happy in those places. 🤗📚🍀✨ There goes your ⏰! I forgot to put the 🍕 in the previous viewed video, but I always watch 'till the very end. 😘

No one talks about this book but I seriously think Ann Patchett's best work is the novel "State of Wonder" - a female doctoral researcher travels to the jungle to find her missing research partner. It's part adventure, definitely a big character study, and it's just so good.

In case you haven't seen, there is a sequel to Less which is a roadtrip across the US to try and scrape together the money to save his house. It is equally beautiful and charming and funny
In the sequel, the narrator inserts himself more into the story which adds an extra element of wit and connection. I listened to it while on my own roadtrip and had to pull over due to (happy) tears obscuring my vision

I’ve been trying to do the same thing. ADHD and other mental health challenges took over for me the last few months. I told myself, if I wasn’t genuinely interested in what I was looking at on a device, I’d switch to a book or a hands-on activity, like a craft. ADHD also makes it a struggle to try a new book at the moment, so I made sure to have lots of faves on hand. I haven’t been perfect, but it feels so much better.

    Lexi,
Where did you get that hardcover edition of Wintering? It's on my TBR, but I prefer that cover to the standard US one. And need to get my hands on it.

    🕰Another delightful video 😁
Btw, did you know that Ann Patchett owns Parnassus Books in Nashville? You should drop by there if you're ever up in Middle Tennessee 📚
(...and yeah, I'm a Tennessean, so I know that it is NOT a short drive from Chatt to Nashville 🤣)

Well I'm happy for you that your parents' house is where your heart is. Now that you know you can live alone, it might make your life more joyful (what you want to do vs what you might have felt what was you wanted to do). ❤
Does that mean we'll see you post more? 🤗😶‍🌫️ 🙈 I just love your videos so much and just can't subscribe to your Patreon right now! 😍
I loved your vlog and as for striving to be a positive influence online, I feel like you pass this test with flying colours!- which is probably why I love your channel so much, come to think of it. 🤔
    See you hopefully soon. ❤
P.S. I also need to stop being on my phone!!! 😬
P.P.S. Have you filmed a vlog restauring your bookshelves to their "former glory"? 🙏

I’m the same with my phone. So when I realize I’m scrolling, I turn off my phone and go to do something else. Still have a pretty bad habit of it, so maybe I should swap my screen time minus watching shows cause I watch shows before bed to help settle down

Not wanting to read books on a TBR - feels too much like HOMEWORK!!!
I have not read a single book in 2024. Not at all. And today is 3rd of March!!!
I am currently only reading fan fiction and watching youtube and making digital scrapbook layouts.
I am in a major reading slump and I cannot seem to get out of it.
I am still addicted to buying books, but after I buy them, I dont read them, even though I want to.

This happened to me. Instead of checking out a book from the library, just walk in. Go to their display section where librarians pick out their faves. Grab and sit and read. You can put it back if you want OR check it out if that feels right.
Other suggestion: get the audiobook of a familiar favorite. Sometimes, I can’t pick up a book because I just can’t start a new thing. Get a good audiobook for driving or bedtime routine. Audiobooks are books and can definitely respark that burn out. ❤❤❤
