  • Moog Product Development Specialist, Amos Gaynes, introduces Minitaur Revolution 2. REV 2 adds localy stored presets, assignable CV, CV to Midi conversion as well as an update to the Minitaur editor/librarian.
    Minitaur REV 2 owners can now create up to 100 presets and store them directly within their Minitaur. Presets are managed from within the free Editor/Librarian software and can be conveniently recalled from the Minitaur's front panel controls.
    Also in REV 2, a new operational mode for the Decay/Release knob provides users independent control of Decay and Release times from Minitaur's front panel. Users can easily switch between this new mode and Minitaur's legacy mode from the front panel.
    In addition, Minitaur's CV and Gate inputs are now assignable from the Minitaur Editor/Librarian software. The Pitch and Mod CV inputs can be routed to any function, while the Gate input can be routed to functions with on/off behavior. REV 2 also enables Minitaur to effectively function as an intuitive CV to MIDI converter.

    I love the intro music on these videos. It reminds me of Deus Ex, investigating conspiracies.

    cool update. was fairly easy to install latest firmware. great for stage use, and much easier for editing your own patches. only issue i found was when creating new sounds, when you name it, it gives text like %E%"R%%%^ .... kinda wierd, but will keep messing with it.
    good work moog Music!

    the software version shown here seem easier to use compared to the latest version.
    btw, when installing 3.0.4 for windows, then all the presets are in the "keys" kategory, not like shown here..

    Any chance of an IOS version of the software in the future? I'd buy this in a second if there was to go with the Mother 96 I just got. Trying to get away from my PC's every now and then. Great sounding piece of kit and great demo.

    purchased it and it really sounds awesome!
    but I am struggling reading the presets and uploading them to the hardware.
    I do not seem to have the arrow that allows u to drop them to the unit and also I cannot preview them as well.
    I have used it oldschool(with the midi track sending info to the audio (no external instruments) as well as with an external instrument followed by the au of the editor
    please let me know what i am doing wrong

    Is Rev 2 a physically different synth, or is it just a firmware update?
    This makes me worry that if I buy one, I'll get stuck with Rev 1 and not be able to save presets.

    I'm curious how they're able to store resets in the memory, yet still keep the sound source analog.

      Yes, but you can get the Sirin instead which has a higher pitch range and is the same as the Minitaur in every way.

    Who would need presets with a mono synth??

    • @laylahassomethingtosay
      @laylahassomethingtosay 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would presets ever be exclusive to polyphony?

    • @rhythmdroid
      @rhythmdroid 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anyone playing more than one song in a live performance. Any producer who works on more than one song at a time. Nobody wants to stick little colored dots all over their front panel to recall the approximate settings of their favorite sounds - it's a time waster to recall your sounds and you can only save about 4 sounds this way before your dots take up too much space.

    • @SPAZZOID100
      @SPAZZOID100 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am strictly studio. Never had a need to save patches.
