    Go to ABLETON's Preferences > On Control Surfaces select "minitaur" INPUT and OUTPUT then Below on Midi ports Turn ON "track" Sync" & "Remote". Then you will see the MT in EXT Instrums. But firs you have to buy the machin and download the application on Moog's page.

    Hey, great video there.
    Really do like this piece of hardware. But i seriously wanna ask this. Now since we are connecting it to live through audio interface, whats the use of buying hardware(since sampling rate is same for both VST and hardware). I mean using the VST which look exactly the same, why not only use the VST? Is it the quality?

    Have the Little Phatty for a couple of weeks (it's mostly great), but for some bizarre reason Moog made the VST Windows only. And there is no user memory for saving patches, unless you want to overwrite presets.

    The Minitaur sounds great.
    With these new rack synths like Minitaur and Slim Phatty, Moog should come out with their own line of midi-controller keyboards for each one, with like a spot for the rack to lock into it on the front panel.

    It looks like when the audio gets re-recorded the waveform is off because of latency. What is the best way to combat this? -latency on the insert audio effect plug? -latency on the MIDI track?

  • @BobbyEaston

    can't seem to get mine working. I have midi controller keyboard connected via midi in to minitaur. From minitaur, I have USB out, into my computer. I am also running Apollo 8, but I do not have the minitaur connected to that. It is not showing up as a selection for 'Midi to' down below. It also does not appear as a choice when I go to configure under preferences. I see numerous other products listed as a choice, but no Moog or no Minitaur. Help!

      A MIDI cable from MIDI out of the interface to MIDI in on the synth, and MIDI out from the synth to MIDI in on the interface.
      Synth's audio output cable to the audio input cable of the interface.
      Easy peasy.

    I like that VST application, It's not a total different editor as the synth layout but just the same. Never seen this kind of applications on an analog synth. Most of the time only on VA or digital synth's. It's not that hard on a digital synth because they use microprocessor's and other chips. I have not a clue about how this works on an analog synth.

  • @bassanddestroy6807
    @bassanddestroy6807 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Alright, I'm a real noob to these synths and powerful machines lol. Correct me if I'm wrong please. What I'm seeing is the moog minitaur connected via USB, then a midi keyboard connected also. The keyboard is controlling the moog through the computer?

    • @juancarodriguez29
      @juancarodriguez29 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, midi keyboard is connected via usb to computer, so the computer sends midi notes to minitaur via -midi but minitaur is connected via usb also, because that's how minitaur editor can control synth

    • @feelmytool
      @feelmytool 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Siddharth Mehra no, you can't get the same level of automation as this but you can get one channel of midi to cv using the assign out on the mother 32

    • @rt-uh6mt
      @rt-uh6mt 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely control the mother via MIDI so yes MIDI notes you record in ableton and have sent out to the Mother will make it play.

    The difference becomes blatantly obvious on big sound systems. VST's just don't have the balls. I know this comment will get all the VST geeks all pissy, but the fact is that 99% of people who make electronic music never leave their bedrooms and have no idea what their music sounds like through 20 000 watts.
