Wow, the temperature sure changed from when you first got there. I don't think I could handle consistent temperatures in the high 90s with no a/c. It would be like being back in the 1970s.
We weren't handling the high temperatures very well. I think the highest it got (according to the weather app) was 96 degrees for a few hours in the afternoon. The temperature can drop 30-40 degrees during the night, which can really cool a home down. Our main challenge was that we were staying in a top floor rental without AC, so there was nowhere in the lodging to escape to during the middle of the day. Now that we've moved to a multi-floor housesit, we're much more comfortable, even though the weather is about the same. There's actually AC in the bedroom here, but we don't have to use it since we can escape the heat by just staying downstairs until the cool of the evening rolls in.
Looks like a beautiful location but the heat can take away from that. We got to witness the total eclipse here. Got very dark and the street lights came on. We just got back from the Netherlands and the weather was the total opposite. Rained and colder than normal. But just one of the many pleasures of traveling. Have a great time in Mexico and fingers crossed for some rain and cooler temperatures.
I'll take the heat over the cold!--for the most part. My bones and joints seem more sensitive to cooler weather nowadays...I hope to experience some chilly European weather eventually, though. On your Netherlands trip, did you go with the tour outfit you generally go with? CG is planning a trip to Scotland next year, but it's a girl's trip, so I'm not invited.
We travel most of the time with Gate1 Travels. They do group tours and independent tours. Good prices, might check them out. You both have a great weekend
I was eyeballing a housesit in Montreal for the winter...I'd still like to have an experience in Montreal eventually, but I don't think my joints are regretting the decision we made to come to Mexico. Even when we were living in Seattle, the wet and cold of the winter would turn me into the Tin Man for about 5 months out of the year
We're barely going to jump into more frequent 70+ degree weather soon and that's already too much heat for me! 90+ weather kills me! As much as I hate the sun I gotta tolerate it for the coming months cause I'll be gardening like crazy this year!!! Already got some 'matos and Lima beans readied up as well as some strawberry plants growing already... More to come!
wow...you're turning into a regular farmer. Do you grow any herbs? Living in Florida, we're kinda used to 90 degree heat, but we're used to living with AC, too :^)
Hey buck what's up with those people dressed up as real tall people at the 8 minute mark I thought they only did that at festivals and so on. I grew up in Miami without air conditioning it wasn't fun I don't think I could do it now. It helps to have cross ventilation and take a lot of cold showers. The worst is when you don't have any cold water I still remember turning over the pillow at night to get the cool side
one trick we learned is to keep wet wash rags in the fridge to put on our heads and necks to help cool us down...we've only had to resort to that once on this trip (so far), but it was a daily ritual when we were in Puerta Vallarta a few years back. Those tall people hang around Jardin Allende most days...it's a big tourist spot, so folks tip the tall people to have their photos taken with them.
@@SlowpokeTravel years ago I had a girlfriend who did that with the wet clothes in the fridge for the summertime when we would go out. In Miami. I also know people who use those little aluminum things that go around the neck and have a fan to call the back of your neck and head. I have tried one and it works but it makes some noise
the last time I was on the streets of Miami was probably sometime between 2008 or 2010; we were just there for a few days and it was August and I was probably near 250 pounds. I was soaking wet, caked in salt, beet red, and looking way more like a German tourist than a semi-native Floridian
@@SlowpokeTravel I still remember the first place I ever went to as a kid that had AC, it was a tiny barbershop and the AC unit was the size of a small refrigerator. my mom said in the summertime you could shoot cannons down Lincoln Road on Miami Beach and not hit a soul.
Thank you for the tour. Looks interesting.😊
Thanks for giving it a watch...hope your weekend is starting off super duper!

@@SlowpokeTravel We've AC but unfortunately it doesn't work and we haven't had a chance to fix it! Herbs? I've rosemary, Lemonbalm, and Mint i think!
"I thought we were starting a family."🤣🤣🤣
My mother-in-law IS NOT a fan of that joke, but I can't help myself
