Mamey Sapote Fruit in Mexico -- Unedited Footage
มุมมอง 3355 หลายเดือนก่อน
A few weeks ago I uploaded a 5 minute long mamey sapote video on the Chef Buck recipe channel. I was trying to make the mamey video short, but I thought some of the cut footage wasn’t so bad, and I also thought folks might want to see a completely unedited video file and how it compares to the final cut. So that’s what most of this video is. And here’s the 5 minute edited version th-cam.com/vid...

Thats my type of weather! Greetings from Florida!! Planning to move this summer🎉🎉🎉🎉
Mo-lay
Your faces and bodies don't match your hair color. Faces and bodies look younger than the grey hair. Especially the woman. Her face and body are young looking.
I’d end up getting water in my eyes for sure taking a shower. Fastest way to get contaminated I’m sure! Lol 😂
I am on the same site you are as a sitter. I have had mostly good experiences doing it. TH attracts nice homes, well taken care of pets and a variety of locations. I really like their 5 person limit. They can always reject all 5 and start over. I am also on a pet site exclusively for Canadian homes. They have no cut off. People wait a long time before they decide and by then the pet sitters have moved on. Homeowner gets frustrated as his worse pics are left. I find on TH if I don’t hear from them in 3 days, I am not their choice. Usually I hear from them within 24 hours, the sits I have had there. Been with them less than a year and travel sporadically like you. Have had 6 sits with them and two with the Canadian site. You would like the exchange rate in Canada.
Hi i hope you guys are doing well, nice video, i never been there but i had made friends in here in the States they go very often to Cuenca Ecuador. On five yers around my husband and me we're planing to became expats, 'cause we love Cuenca. God bless you.
The lady in the $5000 one is “Gabriela Mistral.” She was a famous poet/writer. I believe she was the first Latin American author to ever win the Nobel Prize. So, she’s quite a character. And I guess you were right about the other guys! Lol. The Edgar Allan Poe one is my favorite! Thanks for this video, folks! So educational, and fun to watch. Subscribed 😊💙
Where have you been? seems like I've not received any of your travel videos in a long time. I thought you quit traveling, but maybe you have cause this is 4 months old.
Are you still in an Air B+B?
What do you recommend for someone who wants to visit, knowing only a few words in Spanish? Can you recommend any local guides?
Thank you so much for showing us my beautiful city whee I born
you got 5 pitaya for 99 cents. here they are over $4 each. that was just one of many wild savings you posted. :) Thanks for all your wonderful videos .
Mucho gracias! And how do you rinse your seafood: e.g. deveining shrimp, etc.? Do you live in the vicinitiy of a Walmart or Costco(e.g. Playa de Tijuana)? If you do, would you consider it a more sanitary resource for produce or meats? Again, thanks.
❤
Great video, subscribed. I wonder if in Ecuador you can order from Amazon or Ebay and have things delivered the same way as in the US. And medicine such as insulin if it's available as in the US pharmacies, if anyone knows drop a reply. Looks so calmer there than some cities in here. I would love to visit that little town some day. Great videos.
Either flying ants or flying termites
all of the bugs will make you homesick for south Florida
Didn’t know the story of cruel dangerous female preying mantises that selfishly grab the flowers from the hopeful male and slam the door. But then I suppose this ritual is better than that of a certain species of spiders where the female eats the male after a night of romance 😂. Wow…but so many somnabulent bugs over there… I think you must have stepped on at least a few unlucky (but happy) ones. Despite the mosquito and venomous, amorous critters, San Miguel de Allende seems like a great place to spend time and explore. And that downpour must have been quite refreshing after all that hot weather.
The rain brought a little cool weather, too...I even had my jacket on yesterday for a bit, and we pulled out a blanket to put on the bed! I think it's a brief respite, though. But we'll likely see more rain since the rainy season here in SMA is July and August
Glad you guys finally got some cooler weather to be out walking in. Are you guys still eating out or are you cooking at home? I wonder if there will be in Mexico cooking videos this trip around.
Very little cooking at home, usually some combo of eggs and veggies with avocado, or a fruit salad. SMA is one of the pricier towns we've visited in Mexico, but eating in restaurants is still a great value compared to what we experience in the USA, so we're taking advantage of it.
@@SlowpokeTravel I agree about food prices eating out. I now only patronize at 1 restaurant thats locally owned by a family near where I live. Otherwise everything else not only is way to expensive but also corporate owned. They may want my money but I rather cook at home.
Oh! The Praying Mantis seems a lot of being in a relationship today. Lots of slamming doors.
What's goin on in town? Ppl waiting for the Pope lol! 👍♥️✌
It was the Loco Parade where folks dress up (lots of clowns) and march through town. It was a very loud and boisterous affair on a very hot day...I saw more umbrellas out than I've ever seen in a single day, and it was clear and sunny...but shade was scarce
Have you ever cooked a few of those crawly things up?
There were enough of them that I could have scraped up a pot pretty quick! ...I've never been that hungry though
I have grabbed a few flowers in my day and slammed the door also.
You might have a little mantis in you :^)
I think that's a young praying mantis. Whoa....lots of bugs in this episode 😂
We haven't noticed a lot of bugs in SMA, but I think the big rain brought some of them out
I walked that same bridge you did in the beginning today
What? "You had to wait until you quit crying to start the video?" . . . . Was feeling good walking, eating & exploring Cuenca (thanks), when this comment popped my mood. Not always good to have a travel partner. Don't let them inhibit you. Just be you -- go ahead & cry, if appropriate.
As a Chilean, I regret your traumatic experience with pickpockets, and it is good that you expose it, so that the government in power can redouble security. For the rest, I hope you have or are enjoying our country, thank you and a hug.
I love these rambles, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
I don't know what happened to my reply so here I may be going again. I'm in my last chapter at 80 and very tired. I am not fond of some of my pages in this chapter being torn in half. Hanging in there.😮😊😊😮❤❤
I'm the same way with half of my replies! I click and all of a sudden what I've written has disappeared...it's so aggravating! I almost never know what I did wrong. Glad ur hanging in there Minnie ...I can't imagine making it to 80, but I'm gonna give it a shot!
Sometimes I'm glad I suffer from social anxiety! I would NEVER be out and about unless I have a VERY good reason to do so! Like, If I had to go to work for example! xD
Being a lone wolf has its perks, if I'm remembering correctly
😊😊
This story had everything As you told it it played out like a movie in my mind I have had my share of being robbed by an armed person. The first time the guy shoved the gun in my stomach and I just stood there and closed my eyes thinking this was the end of my life. Then I was robbed a few more times all in the same area, all in places I worked and all armed. Croissant sounds good.
My wallet popped out like a pop tart LOL
my wallet rarely does that, unless an ice cream or baked good is involved
where did she get jacket,,,HAT???
I don't know about her jacket, but here's the hat amzn.to/3VrkhQN ...I have the same hat, but without the neck cover, which I find a bit annoying hanging down. The hat is great, washable and light and foldable, so it travels well...and pretty necessary for me since patches of my skull have adopted a hair-free lifestyle.
I’ve never been robbed. I’d have been worried about my ID and credit cards. I would’ve wet my pants 🤣
I forgot to mention in the story that I did have my Drivers License in my wallet...that was the thing I was bummed out about the most...but then about 1 week later my drivers license came back to me in the mail!--Someone had found my license on the sidewalk and they mailed it back to me! That was fantastic 'cause it would have been a pain in the butt going to the DMV ...I don't think they had any kind of online renewals way back then
Just got back from Cuenca. After see this video I got up every morning before my spouse got moving to make a trip to PECA. Nice place to read a book and enjoy some fresh bake goods.
yes...and so close to the square...PECA is one of my favorite spots. Did you try the Cinema Cafe while you were there? Thatwww.google.com/maps/place/Cinema+Caf%C3%A9/@-2.8983345,-79.0043454,21z/data=!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x91cd18095fc7e881:0xafd08fd090de6ff7!2sCuenca,+Ecuador!3b1!8m2!3d-2.9001285!4d-79.0058965!16zL20vMDJydmp3!3m5!1s0x91cd1813ded175d9:0x7df9903e09e85f87!8m2!3d-2.8984826!4d-79.0041146!16s%2Fg%2F11bw4cq39r?entry=ttu
By the way, the reason for the lower Notes being polymer is because smaller notes are used more and gets worn down really fast so they make it more durable and it’s cheaper for the government not to produce more notes when those notes run down
5 pesos chilien
Behind every great man is a genius woman. Fingers crossed she can get the website squared away. What editing software do you use?
I use Sony Vegas; I started making videos in 2008 with Windows Movie Maker, then around 2010 I bought Sony Vegas and that's really all I've used since. I own it outright without a subscription fee...plus I'm too lazy to learn a new program. It can be a pain in the butt, but it's paid for
I've yet to try Sapote! My mum (being that she is Mexican) tells me they're delicious! I'll try 'em someday!
They can be very tasty, but once their ripe, they get overripe quickly
Hi Buck, thanks for sharing the unedited video. It's amazing to see how you made that into just 5 minutes and it was seamless even though now I see you actually had a ton of footage. My favorite part that had me laughing 😂 was when you brought out your black trash bag and put it on the counter next to the plate of cut fruit. I actually went back and watched the 5 minute video cause I didn't remember any trash bag in the cutting video. Always great to see a video from you and CG and thank you for the much needed laugh today. (It was a super stressful day) Look forward to your next travel video!! 🏜
Thanks for watching. We generally keep all our perishable waste in plastic bags in the fridge until trash day; mostly to keep from attracting ants or fruit flies, especially here in Mexico, where doors and windows are often not snuggly sealed in the places we stay.
Enjoyed the long version with all of the chitchat. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed seeing the unedited version, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for taking a look!
Interesting to see fruits in different countries not offered in mine.
Enjoyed the video. But, in bed by 9 PM on a Saturday night in a new, exciting city in Latin America, what?
I know...it sounds pretty late to me, too, but we don't stay out late often
Speaking of books...the first time I went into a coffee house that had maybe hundreds of books i felt so confused and conflicted. I was always taught that books and beverages dont go together. So I felt like I needed to continue keeping those two things separate and I never went back to that place again. 😂
Books and beverages go together--as long as it's coffee!...nowadays it seems like a bookstore needs to also be coffee shop if they want to stay in business
Speaking of Africa you ever think of travelling all the way over there sometime? Would be pretty cool! You ever seen Bone Tomahawk? That's another "non-traditional" Western movie that's also pretty dark and kinda brutal!
Holy cow...I've seen Bone Tomahawk a half a dozen times already! LOVE IT! The guy who made that movie, Craig Zahler, also made Dragged Across Concrete and Brawl in Cell Block 99. After multiple viewings, I've come to love Brawl in Cell Block 99, but I didn't love it at 1st. Dragged Across Concrete I need to watch again, cause I didn't love it. I've also read a few books written by Zahler--real gritty stuff. In fact, I think one of his books is being turned into a movie by Ridley Scott. I don't know if Zahler is writing the screeplay; it's based on his western novel Wraiths of the Broken Land, which is fantastic, and thematically similiar to Bone Tomahawk. Hopefully the movie gets made!
I'm curious about that Ridley Scott film now... I'll keep an eye out for that one! I love the gritty/dark stuff. Speaking of books! There's this excellent book I read a couple years ago called "InHuman" by an Eric Leland if you're into Military novels and psychological horror, That's a good one! It's the only book I ever read that has physically disturbed me! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If you're into that! ;)
Love your videos. I’m always looking for new colonias as my wife and I are retiring in San Miguel de Allende. We’ve been there 6 times. I heard there is a colonia called, Allende which has flat streets. Can you make a video about that colonia? Thanks
Love the train-of-thought narrative.
Thanks for giving it a listen!
I've often wished I was recording myself so that I could remember what I was just talking about. But then I'd have to record everything I say 😅
Nothing gets derailed faster than my train of thought :^)
Mexico is the best place to be now that all the Mexican cartel and inmates are now in USA.MEXICO IS THE PLACE TO BE.
Interesting comment…
