Wow!! It’s been riding a little rough since I bought it two years ago so I’ve never touched the ride adjustment…until yesterday. I didn’t hear the compressor and no measurable height difference with a measuring tape. But when I started driving all hell, broke loose! Meaning, the backend bounced violently up and down with even the slightest angulation in the road. I just watched video and I’m glad I hung till the end ; the resets didn’t work but when I crawled underneath, the right side adjuster rod wasn’t attached to the upper control arm! I popped a nut on and BAM, I was back in business! Thanks man!! Huge win!
Ok, I tried literally everything in this video multiple times and nothing improved the problem of unforgiving rear suspension. I couldn't get the air lines disconnected. However, I JUST got them removed last night, did the OBD2 paperclip trick, drove it around the block a few times, then went to bed. The drive home from work today was probably the smoothest my GX has ever ridden since I've owned it. THANK YOU!!!!!
I’d personally replace it with standard suspension from somebody like dobinson or OME. Not worth the headache and glad our 2008 4R didn’t come with the XREAS or KDSS.
I have all the parts if I wanted to but I really like it, works great with the camper, travel with the family and all our crap in the back, rides fine.
Thanks for the great video showing solutions to many issues with rear air shocks on 2004 Lexus GX. Paper clip reset method was all I needed, thankfully. Filled Wife's SUV with 1100lbs of tile for Bath remodel, and wasn't too worried as 1200-1300 Lbs load limit. But slightly overloaded due to Gas + 2 Passengers not included by me as I drove off. After 10 mi drive home and unloading tile, wife drove and rear suspension was bumping and not stable. Rear height not working, and worried I broke air suspension by overloading. Thanks to your video for allowing me to avoid taking it to mechanic to diagnose, and resetting it on my own.
Perfect timing. Ab 6 mos ago my air suspension stopped working for an afternoon but came back on. Last weekend it went out for a day and came back on. The past two days it hasn’t been functioning. Buttons don’t work. I don’t hear the compressor at all. I’ve pulled fuses and relay. Now I’m sitting in the car with suspension off hoping for a reset. 🤞
I just did all the hacks and nothing worked. I carried roofing shingles un the back and left them there for two days. After that my suspension is bottomed out and stuck in neutral and does not respond to up or down. The "off" button light does work on/off. Any suggestions? Thanks!
@HawkeyeSkunkWorks I did check the one in the engine bay. Pulled it, waited 10 minutes, put back in and there was an electronic click. But when I turned the truck on nothing happened. Then I did the wire thing. Is there any other fuse I need to check? Thanks so much for your reply.
@@HawkeyeSkunkWorks I fixed it by doing the wire thing. I saw a comment on another video that tells you to jump the wire, then on position, brake at least 8 times in 5 seconds, then pull the wire out, then to off position, the start the car. And it worked!!! Thanks so much for your help!!!
It was the ECU wire hack that did the trick. I also tried your ignition "On-wait-10-minute" suggestion prior to the wire hack. Thank you for posting this video.
I am going absolutely crazy troubleshooting the air suspension problem on a gx 470. Seemed to start at the same time as a brake problem on the rear driver side and can't ignore the fact that it may be related somehow.
I'm having some issues after a weekend of wheeling. Maxing the ride height does cause the compressor to kick on and raise the truck, so I know it works and the air bags hold. But the N height is so low it's bouncy. Think I smacked a height sensor out of alignment?
RIght on! I've been trying to figure out my air suspension, not as smooth as I would expect. I replaced shocks with OEM, Air bags as they were leaking, and all suspension bushings, R drive shaft, axels, brakes, tires... The ride is smooth but I dunno I have a shimmy on small bumps. Maybe body mounts... Seems like my 2002 Tundra on Belistiens rides better. Thanks for the rundown! I'll try the rest.
Thanks for the info! I did the Steering Rack bushings, and its tracks way better! Still have a shake on bumps. I dunno... Tires are fresh and balanced, I'm going to adjust the height sensors. One side is .5 inches lower then the other.
@@pinheadlarry37 Well more like at speed... do your left and right rear wheel well measure the same height? Maybe ones sides lower than the other Thanks!
I gotta know what u did with that front grill. Huge fan
I have a video (or 2) on it

Nice info. What MagSafe chargers are you using?
IDK some from amazon, theyre not great.

Side note: I too have a 3rd gen 4Runner 😄 she’s lifted on 33s with a sleeping platform in the back. They make a great pair
I had this problem a few times, but your video helps me reset my air suspension. Especially the one with the wire and pumping up the brake.
glad i could help
Any idea how i could delete the pesky "check air suspension" warning on the 2015 gx ?
sorry cant say for 460. But Id say maybe you should check your air suspension....
@HawkeyeSkunkWorks oh i failed to mention that i have deleted it for a lift
Thanks, mate! The height control switch off method worked for me
great
Will 4th gen v8 4runner upper/lower front control arms fit the 470?
yes

did you check all the fuses? maybe you killed the compressor will all that weight

Got me stumped

Definitely sounds like a sensor issue of some sort.

Steering rack bushings. I went with White Line
By shimmy do you mean like a quick side to side shake? I think I have the same thing whenever I go over a speedbump/pot hole at parking lots speeds.
@@pinheadlarry37 more like a tire thats not balanced, which I think was the problem because EVENTUALLY it stopped doing it.
