    I love how they recommend all this extra parts, you have to be absolutely hard core romping on that flex plate for it to break , folks they are stronger then you think

    Thank you . You are the first in your video to say the access holes for torque converter bolts were on the passenger side. Not under the starter holes on the left. I had removed the starter anyway. Also copied the use of breaker bar and 18mm swivel socket to remove . Many thanks again.

    I'm ditching my 68rfe in my 08.5 putting 48re been told by multiple shops to swap it yes it cost alot out on the front end but a 68 will constantly keep failing and will end up costing more and always be slower than the 48 just what I've been told still waiting on my computer though for the swap in the process of doing it now

    I live in texas and it is 108*+ regularly. Try hanging out in our shop for a few days, you'll want to go back up north with a quickness. But on the flip side I can wear shorts most of the year so I guess its a trade off.

    My 2019 2500 Ram is , as we speak, having the valvebody replaced under warranty. The "fix" for the recall was completed in April, apparently id didnt work.

  • @jasonlatona4582
    @jasonlatona4582 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My guess is cross leaks in the valve body and burned 5&6 clutches. If you or anybody encounter a failure and buy a new trans. stay away from BD Diesel. i just finished up a huge fiasco with their 68RFE. I bought BD's 68RFE, billet shaft and converter and it blew within 28 days and 4,100 miles. My truck is a deleted and tuned with all stock internals 2016 2500 Cummins. That happened JUNE 27th of 2018 and had it in the shop JULY 1st for warranty work. It took BD Diesel 17 days after that to even give approval to send it to them and took until AUGUST 10th to even respond saying they would not warranty it. The cause of failure was a broken Sprag Clutch and they were trying to tell me I was doing HEAVY burnouts or racing which I absolutely was not. I fought them for 9 days on it because they wanted 2700 for the rebuild and 1200 for freight on top of shop labor. I sent them their warranty policy and they then realized they were backed in the corner and decided to warranty it. Its 1:17 AM AUGUST 30th pacific time and my new trans is getting installed today. After all of that they are still trying to have me pay for labor for installation and possible freight (600 each way). Learn from my mistakes and buy a REVMAX! I wish I did. Also you CAN NOT get good trans tuning with BD's 68 because they have a pressure controller that increases mainline pressure and all tuning i tried (through Hardway Performance 5 different times) conflicted and it would not lock the converter until 45mph regardless of gear. All of that aside it may have been a lemon but I still say stay away from all BD Diesel products. Hope your new rebuild does great and lasts a lifetime!

    • @BEASTProjects
      @BEASTProjects  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Devin, I heard about the cross leak problem. I definitely didn’t get anything from BD, we did the overhaul w/ parts from Sonax, Suncoast & RevMax. If it goes again, I hope that I’ll have enough money to get a RevMax 800, but I’m thinking that we should be good w/ my HP & torque w/ the upgrades we did. I’m running HPP tuning & I have the RevMax Valve Body. Again, thank you for the heads up.

    Hey Steve. Love your vids. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi 6" lift with 37" tires. I have the same shifting issues as you but i have a 8 speed in mine. Im trying to regear the difs only bad part is Mercedes decided in 2011 to weld the ring gear to the carrier in the 1500. So i have to buy the whole dif for the front an Chrysler only has 3.21,3.55,and 3.92 got any input on this issue?

    I’m curious how that rear end is doing with synthetic oil. Trutrac style LSD’s don’t like synthetic and tend to make noise and not transfer power as well as if you use dyno oil.

Better than rotella, delvac, mobil 1, etc. We have a 2018 ram 3500 6.7 with 26k hard towing miles on amsoil 5w-40 max duty. All stock emissions and no mods whatsoever. I haven't seen any other oil that can do that!
