Great video! never really heard about the beamup until you brought it up, might have to look more into it :) but, I also agree i feel like they should be doing more for the pro-line openers. Other than the 1 piece rails i feel like there arent many big differences between them
My house had the original genie screw Drive opener installed in 1964. It still worked but it did not have a transmitter that used a rolling code like Genie uses today. It was replaced sometime in the mid 90s. I recently installed a genie 7155 L and I love it. It’s quiet I can use my phone to open it and close it. Very nice unit.
I bought the 7155L from Costco.
my garage door motor broke today. thank you for the great video. Im buying the beamup.
Please let us know how it works for you. Especially if there are some things you like or dislike.
thank you for all your videos. can i go from a chain to a belt ? what do you recommend if i do not want cameras less tech and just a motor that is going to last a long time . i have now a chain craftman 1/2 hp
Thank you for the kind words and your question. You can definitely go from a chain to belt rail, yet you will have to modify some parts. If you have the ability to replace the sprocket assembly with a belt sprocket, then that's what I would do. At any rate, I would consider simply going with a new garage door motor that offers the features you want to simplify the process.
