I had an 1986 CR 250 about 15 years ago and stripped it down to the frame and went through everything from the motor to the suspension and the exhaust as well. I didn't repaint anything on frame because it was in such great shape, but I did some painting on motor after the rebuild. Everything else was either replaced or cleaned and left alone. I mainly used this amazing classic for trail blazing and a little Enduro racing. A whole lot of fun, I would actually like to find another 250 to mess around with and bring back to life and enjoy the hell out of it or find someone who might want a reliable bike to have a great time trail riding, vintage racing or maybe just look at? Thanks for the video Ken Sr. & Jr., God bless you and your family. And I can't forget to Bless America ,the best country in the World!!!

that motor is electric!!!! wow smooth....perfect jetting......sounds better than new......i think this was first year of the hppower valve system that replaced the atac design (the only thing better about the atac was the cool looking logo...but heard it worked well on the 84 lineup)...and for just being a variable exhaust port timing design.. without a resonance chamber, .it def works awesome....my 89 has same design and they say its complex but actually not too bad to clean and set it up right when u have the manuel and detailed write ups by Eric gorr detailing the tips and tricks.....another classic taken across the finish line!!!...words just dont describe enough these awesome machines.

I had three of those..my first one was brand new... excellent bike .. one of the unique problems I encountered on all of them even my new one within the first ten hours was the clutch push rod developed a burr on the left side and wouldn't let the pressure plates engage...I then split the cases and turned the push rod on the metal lathe ever so slightly and then everything was flawless after that ...once that was fixed life was amazing...

This 1986 Cr came out perfect, great job done all over it,the golden chain seats amazingly beautiful as it reaLLy makes the whole bike pop even more 💥🔥🌞🤩!A good friend with 50+ years of age owns a 1989 Cr250r which is looking and running great at the moment, only needs a proper decals kit though, he says the same thing, those late 80's were the golden age period for these power hungry Cr's!Keep up the good work when recuperating these old classy ladies as they should all be brought to glory while they're still around 🙂.

IMO the 86 CR line was the slickest designed racing bikes ever made as a Kawi man I hated but respected Ricky Johnson and always was envious of the 86's cr look. That and his OP dog on his bell helmet!. In later years I owned a 86 250 one of the smoothest vibration wise bikes I ever owned it ripped hard and was smooth as a babies butt what more could you ask for. Seriously the 86 CR was a perfect design! again imo

my intellectual side is wondering why in middle of the video you stopped and revved bike up for a sec.... and was looking at junior for a bit and then you gave this shoulder shrug that i keep trying to figure out what was on your mind cuz it was almost like u were irritated for a sec so i was thinking was it that kinda loud gear whine (sounds like gear wine but it does it at idle in neutral and it did seem a bit louder than usual and i think its the combination of the water pump gear and centrifigual ball governor that are making that sound.... and i was thinking that u stopped and revved it in hopes it would die down some as far as noticable decibel level but it did go away for most part so my thoughts were maybe the all new fresh componentry need to settle in and be seated but neways....that is my psychological guess to that mysterious shoulder shrug but i could be WWWAAAY OFF BASE but i do like to make a mental game out of things like that cuz human non verbal behavior is def one of my fascinations....although sometimes the devil is in the details but i think i may just have overextended my welcome with satan some so hes messin with my head more or less.lmao.....
