Yep - I feel like Taylor Swift works hard and excels at everything but her fashion. It's really bad, like bad bad. But I'm confused as to how all the badness comes together to make that level of badness for such a major star. This is one to ponder and I reckon that years from now people will look back and wonder...
I almost wonder is she does it to seem relatable. Like “I’m one of the world’s most successful women, but I’m just like you!!” I would be surprised if her lack of style is accidental considering how well planned and intentional she is. Buuuut if it is her stylist then they need to be fired stat
I think it’s a mix of long time body dysmorphia (she’s really tall, but the height comes from her torso more than her legs), her not knowing how to dress herself now that she’s curvy, and a lack of fashion education (she’s has the same stylist since 2011 - why are her clothes tailored poorly and from several seasons ago??).
@@seanackerman6168 I don't see the relatable aspect tbh, because most of the stuff she wears are still high-end and luxury clothes, and you can tell they're expensive clothes. Oh man, you always make me smile!! You’re never mean to the person just the clothes. Your taste is amazing. Even when I’m sad you can make me feel better. Thank you.
Zendaya doesn't even have any close competition, just stunning year after year. I also love Cynthia Erivo, she always has such unique and interesting looks (without being ugly - sometimes unique can definitely get into ugly territory). Taylor Swift... there is no excuse lol. That much money and fame?? All I get from that is she has no taste, but each to their own!
I follow your channel for years and admire your growth on yt ❤... Aaand btw Luke, your hair looks better like this, messy kinda fringe than with the side part 😏😌
I'm convinced that Taylor Swift looks at cartoon movie characters and tells her stylist, 'Here's your inspo.' The Westwood is Dorothy, green velvet is Peter Pan, etc. LOL 😆
Firstly, love your videos, I silently lurk your channel. Secondly, why can I change the AUDIO language??? Is that like, actual people that dub this or is it AI? And is it a feature from you or from youtube - I am so curious
Da'Vine! I loved so many of her looks. So good. Love Cynthia, love Zendaya...all 3 of them have in common the head to toe of it all. Hair, nails, make up...always on point.
Ok, back on the Met Gala - it really irritates me when the folks commenting on the outfits don’t actually GET the theme (so you know, NOT talking about you). While Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s dress didn’t have an obvious ‘garden’ connection, folks thinking that the outfits all had to be some sort of Gaia-coded reference are just showing off why the Camp theme had so many swings and misses. The Garden of Time is a short story by JG Ballard about the fall of of the bourgeoisie, and Da’Vine’s dress - that gorgeous draped fabric and the sleeves! - absolutely SCREAM bourgeoisie. It was absolutely perfect for the Gala and showed that either she of her stylists 100% understood the assignment. The folks deriding her for not wearing a Michael’s floral section are the ones failing - and without notice. Okay, I get to rant fashion here? Subscribed!
The Cut has a really interesting article called, The Real Reason Taylor Swift Dresses Like That. I was always perplexed by how bad a lot of her outfit choices are, although style is obviously subjective.
Can we appreciate that Luke is the og fashion go-to for the online era. I’m always seeing other gays trying to do the same on Instagram now but they don’t have the same knowledge.
I am new so new to your channel that I had not made a comment that you needed to upgrade your sound. Well, you showed me. Sounds great and you are a delight!
Could you do a Fashion for Dummies video or series, for those of us who are new to the idea of an outfit "telling a story" or what not? I always love your take on fashion, even though I don't really engage in it or understand it myself. Everything you say makes sense to me.
My #1 BEST DRESSED moment for 2024 is Rosamund Pike in DIOR. A look we will remember for years. She brings back classic DIOR and that headpiece catapults the whole look into the stars! The way it framed her face made her look the best she's EVER looked. Really the fit, the cut, the material, the styling AMAZING. This look had the power to start a trend in fashion. A return to HIGH GLAMOUR! My RUNNER-UP was Hunter Schafer in that spectacular PRADA. So simple, so chic yet slyly holds a surprise when walking it creates a lovely flurry of tendrils. Genius! Fashionistas of note for me are definitely Zendaya (DUH), Elle Fanning, Cynthia Erivo, Anya Taylor-Joy and finally Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Zendaya's looks are still THEEE most memorable for me. There is a cohesion between all of them which is the attention to detail and a gracefulness that is authentic to her. Also you holding a big mic is everything I need!! The audio sounds sososo good.
As a Swifty I kinda grew used to this years outfits but she has like 1 major outfit moment per year (maybe on purpose) and there is sooo much wasted potential (without counting the tours outfits) in my opinion.

I do like the Michelle Yeoh green/black dress. It fits perfectly on her and the shade of green is gorgeous for her.
Same. I can completely see what those of us love about it - but it is hard to articulate 😂
Freaking love this channel! He’s so well versed in fashion and designers and obscure references that only a true fashion head would know!! I agree with all of your picks!!!! Nailed it! 🤩
Honorable mention I love Taylor Russell! She’s such a risk taker and gets it!! Can’t wait to see how her style evolves!😆
And wait, Michelle Yeoh’s white shirt and jeans was actually ALL leather?!? Like what?! Incredible!!🤩
I really try not to criticize other people’s fashion choices bcuz it’s so subjective BUT Mikey Madison in LV black white lace legit looks like molded cottage cheese!! I seriously had a physical reaction when that photo came up!!🤢🤮😆
Enjoyed it! You are great to listen. Your freedom to express yourself, critique, facts&theories are spot on. Authentic and entertaining.
And, you are funny
Love your show!
Right on target critique - as always! You know everything.
Love, love, love this! Great job.
Loved it ❤❤❤❤❤❤
For 2025 I really hope Zendaya, will fast every once in a while. Because she's eating these looks way too much! She is just always stunning. Like, give these other girls a chance.
Oh man, you always make me smile!! You’re never mean to the person just the clothes. Your taste is amazing. Even when I’m sad you can make me feel better. Thank you.
I really enjoyed your insightful discussion regarding these fashions. You have an excellent eye.
Great video!
Great review! More more in 2025 please!
You're sooo right about tyla she's super gorgeous and I'm excited to see her fashion moments in 2025
I love Zendaya’s navy MET gala look.
Subscribed!
whenever i see a bad look, i think to myself... zendaya could pull this off
Zendaya ate ❤ she was the 2024 and 2023
The Cut has a really interesting article called, The Real Reason Taylor Swift Dresses Like That. I was always perplexed by how bad a lot of her outfit choices are, although style is obviously subjective.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤great job, agree with Zendaya, she'd look fab even 8n a garbage bag. Love the new mic!
Zendaya and Sabrina are my favorites, Zendaya’s Challengers press tour looks were absolutely iconic and Sabrina’s tour outfits were so adorable!
Can we appreciate that Luke is the og fashion go-to for the online era. I’m always seeing other gays trying to do the same on Instagram now but they don’t have the same knowledge.
2024 was ZENDAYA & LAW's year.
Happy New Year Luke & Everyone!!!
🖤🎉
I am new so new to your channel that I had not made a comment that you needed to upgrade your sound. Well, you showed me. Sounds great and you are a delight!
Could you do a Fashion for Dummies video or series, for those of us who are new to the idea of an outfit "telling a story" or what not? I always love your take on fashion, even though I don't really engage in it or understand it myself. Everything you say makes sense to me.
Zendaya needs to be a verb
I normally don’t agree with these but for some reason every single point in this was exactly what i was thinking
Such a charming tour de force! Bravo and thanks!
I usually disagree with these best /worst fashion videos but you said literally everything I was thinking about these outfits!!
With the Mugler armor suit Zendaya and Law Roach broke the red carpet, maybe forever.
