The *hotdups* is still on my list. Maybe next summer. But to be honest that one looks more formal, so I have to make sure I wear it, which is why I've been holding back. I really can't resist this bag.
As a disabled lady, ballet flats are fully in my best list. I mostly use a wheelchair, so it doesn't matter what shoes I wear, but if I'm walking (using walking stick, just short distances) it has to be something flat. And if I want to be a little bit ~cute~ and ~stylish fashion~ with it, then ballet flats or loafers are basically my only option lmao and in the summer it's not loafers. I get that the mainstream ones are boring, but idk I like them. They make me feel nostalgic as well, back when I was a teenager (00s~10s) they were popular and I wore them all the time. We called them dolly shoes over here in the UK, but I think ballet flat has slowly replaced that. Anyway now I'm an Old so wearing them reminds me of being a teenager. I wore flat black dolly shoes with a little black bow so much, like I literally wore through them. I had to buy multiple pairs some years, that's how much I wore them. I wore them to school, around town, whatever. I can't wear that kind anymore, but I still have some different varieties! Ballet flats are good!!! (but I agree they can be boring haha)
I love them too, though I understand why Luke and others don't share the feeling. I don't have a disability, but never wear heels of any sort, so varied ballet flats for office or dressing up is essential. I live in a mild climate so just wear tights and ballet flats when cooler, they are an all rounder!
Living for your mob wife accent, bloody love it. Class as usual Luke, thank you for your impeccable fashion knowledge and very enjoyable delivery. Love your videos ❤
I kinda loved the office siren esthetics because I had a ton of this old but quality clothes from when I first started working in big accounting firms. Those tight suits, tight wool dresses, striped shirts, suit vests, knee length tight boots. Back then it was supposed to be elegant and serious, part of corporate dress code nightmare. So this year I had a ton of fun making new outfits for not work related stuff out of my old office wardrobe!!! Also am glad that prescription glasses became more varied, happily bought new frames 🎉
I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags... so more people choose fashionable *jklux* bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.
Yeesss! This is how I used to dress back in the 00s. So much so that when Mad Men came out, all my colleagues made me watch it as the style was so much mine - used to have an amazing heels for the office, an array of pencil skirts and a mix of tops and tight shirts/vests, skirt suits. Totally different these days, super casual and relaxed work clothes. It’s super comfy but I do get bored and it’s been fun having an excuse to do back into old wardrobe when I’m off now
@@summerseveningI forgot about madmen! Yess I had this amazing salmon colored form fitting dress inspired by Joan Holloway and felt like a boss babe 😅 oh the simpler times
Hi ! Was there a time when LV Mono Vernis Perle Read PM Monogram.does not have a date code? My aunt and I were trying to authenticate an old Vernis white bag. The bag size, the monogram design is on point. even the stitches ,the color of the thread, the color of the inner lining. the lock, the hardware, the stamp, the zipper even the LV near the handle does not overlap. The only thing we noticed is that there was no date code. Accdg to my aunt that bag was given t her by her aunt in 2009 .But that *jklux* was gifted to her aunt in 1998. There is only a slight discoloration but it looks fantastic.
i find it so fascinating that this is the year the yankees hat is being recognized as a trend?? to me it feels so ubiquitous in american culture (esp since jay-z/other nyc based rappers have worn them for a long time) that you can't really classify it as "trendy". as always, love your takes and videos!
Fr!! I’m very surprised that people are calling it a trend when it’s so prominent in nyc culture. Maybe it’s because we view the Yankees hat as more of a hat that we happen to own rather than an aesthetic item lol
@@lordofshibainus This is me with the barn coat, I have I think three but I've owned them for like 2-3 years because I moved the middle of nowhere and it's a staple, useful coat that I saw everyone else wearing around me wearing in my small fishing town. I have a lined one for winter and an unlined one for warmer weather. It's just a normal coat! I don't even notice other people wearing them the same way I feel like you probably wouldn't even blink at someone wearing that hat on the streets of new york.
I love a good *jklux* because it helps me decide if I want to buy the real thing or NOT." That part right there. That's IT. I feel like people stigmatize dupes but for me, I pause on large purchases that are trendy or when I feel the overconsumption mania setting in FOR ME. (It's something I struggle with LOL! I'm easily convinced to buy things I don't wear or use. They'll literally have the tags and I'll even forget I bought something and have 2 or 3 of them in my closet.) Love this video!
I love the tailored-ness of office siren! Slouchy oversized blazers have been a thing for a long time now, and I really like the fitted blazer look, trumpet skirts, vests, etc
Omg the mob wife segment gave me life!!!!! AND you read them for filth in a Staten Island accent 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 well done sir.. tip of my non NY hat to you ❤❤
I'm definitely not a fashion girlie, or American, so maybe I'm missing something... It seems really weird to me that one of your favourite trends is a fashioned-up barn jacket, but you also hate the Mob Wife and the NY caps because they're being worn by people who aren't from those social/geographic backgrounds. I think the idea of glorifying mafia wives is weird for different reasons, but your issue seems to be that people aren't from the area, don't know who the mob families are or aren't second generation Yankees fans (the 'yupy-fication' of it) However, you love a coat that was originally worn by famers and labourers but is now on runways and being worn by people for their Starbucks runs. I love the channel and most of your fashion commentary, I just thought it was a really strange double standard on two kinda similar ideas.
A barn coat (someone from middle of nowhere nys so farmwear is very much worn up here) is acceptable because you actually use it for its purpose which is the waterproof aspect and the warmth aspect. I’d wear my barn jacket to a city but you don’t see a Yankee hat as much outside of nyc tourist.
As someone from the "mid-west" of Canada (Saskatchewan) I am surrounded by country guys and blue collar workers wearing their Carhartt workwear everyday and the fact that barn jacket styles are fashionable would short circuit all of their heads and I love it! EDIT: Just caught the part where you asked if Saskatchewan has a pro baseball team and beyond having no pro teams at all, we actually don't have even a semi-pro baseball team. We are embarrassing. 🙃
@heatherireland2810 The Riders will be around forever, for good or for bad, and I guess I still consider CFL to be below NFL so they still seem semi pro to me ☠️.
Came to the comment section just to find if someone clapped back about Saskatchewan baseball team comment. I lolled so hard like no there’s no team there
Your NYY Hat point is well-taken. I was in Ireland in 2023 and one of the rental car company employees was wearing a Chicago Bulls hat. I asked him if he liked American basketball, and he admitted that he didn't even know what the logo on his hat meant! LOL!
Nobody does, and yeah there are loads lol. I guess it makes sense that the one point off appropriation that's pissing off the Americans is to do with sports tho - like I'm don't even really understand what he was saying there about the mets vs yankees like whether they play different sports or they're competing teams? People also walk around in t-shirts that say 'Laguna Beach' all the time just because it gives off american/preppy vibes.
I think it's so interesting how eurocentric/western-world people's perceptions of trends are. Recently, I've been to Japan and the common fashion trends and clothing choices I've been seeing are pretty different from the trends popular in the west! For example, statement ankle-length skirts paired with leggings and heeled boots seem to be really popular amongst young women in December. Tartans and similarly patterned fabrics r also popular.
Being an older lady?, no female - you've got me thinking beyond the basic clothing styles. Thank you! I sort of drum more to my own beat the older I get. I am beginning to want my "style" based only on what I prefer. Screw the world! So, now besides finding what I want to wear, I am thinking about accessories like purses, coats, footwear and such. Who knows whatever will become my fashion? Of course, too much of it has to do with my lack of finance at this point. But a girl can dream! Boy, do I dream! So, on this New Year's Eve, I wish you Happy New Year! Can't wait until you get me thinking some more in 2025!
1st of all, love you, also a big fashion lover and all that entails... but I also live in Eastern Montana and I have to be honest: the idea of spending $2k on a jacket I can buy at North 40 for like $50 is objectively hilarious.
True story...also in Montana...my spouse has a Carhartt vest that is falling apart from wear and he was talking to someone he knows who sells stuff on Ebay about how he needed to get a new vest. That guy said he could sell the worn out vest for good money, the more worn the better so don't throw it away. That's just funny.
I hate the trend of the “mob wife aesthetic” but I love a lot of the actual pieces that make up this aesthetic because it reminds me of my friends’ moms when I was growing up. I used to snowboard on a competition team and a lot of the kids came from Staten Island so their moms dressed like this on the days they weren’t going to the mountain and they always looked so chic! Plus this was during the time that the Sopranos was airing so I would go home from spending the day snowboarding with my friends and the nights spent at their families’ houses and watch the newest episode which definitely influenced how all of them were dressing at the time. It’s not a costume but I was so in awe of the glamorous moms that I will always love the aesthetic of it, even though it should be revised from “mob wife aesthetic” to “rich woman from Staten Island” aesthetic
You can take ballet flats from my cold dead hands lol, I've been wearing and loving them since they were last in the fashion cycle. We might not agree about everything but I really appreciate your take on the fashion trends, especially appreciate the "mob wife aesthetic" bit. In my country that's just how rich, older city ladies dress. Or younger women who have inherited their grandma's fur coat because everyone in Northeastern Europe knows nothing will keep you warm like a big, real fur coat (unfortunately).
Lol, I love when my wardrobe staples come back into style. My Barbour is almost 20 years old and is still going strong! My handbags have always been large since I hate carrying multiple of anything so everything must fit in one! Many of those over a decade so definitely worn in!
We have stores selling them in Brazil where there isn’t even a baseball culture. People just like the designs. I have 2 beret hats from MLB Korea just because the design is cute🤷🏻♀️
@@vertexmodel1517honestly ppl outside of the US don’t even know that it is related to baseball (someone from Germany here and two decade long owner of NY caps)
Your accent got much thicker during mob wife segment. I loved it. Thank you very much for this year’s summary. You’re opinion is such an educated one I find myself learning so much from you and that’s from someone who’s grandmother’s and great grandmother’s furs and in my closet like an albatross around my neck from a Monty Python sketch. (note oil money not connected…but in Texas that might as well mean the same thing) What I really want to know is what is going on with your bookshelves? Since I found your videos I’m constantly reading over your shoulder looking for potential books I might want to read and I’ve noticed a shake up going on back there. Where’s the plaid Vivienne Westwood spine? And now huge gaps of no books😮! Are you culling or reorganzing by the Dewey decimal system? 😊 Happy new year!🎉
I don't understand why a bunch of city people can walk around in Carhartt when they've never raised a cow or chopped down a tree in real life but country people can't have fun with mob wife aesthetic. Make it make senseeeeee
As if people in northern Eurasia in the countryside did not wear fur. Luke defending the mob is insane to me with these people are deplorable violent murderers and mutilators and their so-called culture it’s just borrowed from other traditions who are the innovators in the system. No one is inventing styles. They are all too busy murdering people the style comes from the stylization in the cinema by actual creative people. We can do whatever the hell we want with this.

2024 was fashion cosplay. No scolding (scolding is extra), however your field coat is giving 1980's Choate, while the Carhartt runway one is giving stablehand cosplay. For the first year I couldn't bear to wear mine (Burberry 1987, they wear well) as everyone is running around in farm gear. Some of us just want to take our regular trip to the farmers' market without feeling mocked by bougie shoppers who are having a "cottage core journey" taking selfies with their produce purchase then stuffing it into a freaking Louis Vuitton Neverfull in logoed canvas. For you it's the Yankees hats. Probably for office managers and HR, office sirens were it. 2024 seemed to push a lot of buttons
Great roundup! Found myself agreeing with most of what you said. The trend I got most excited about this year was the bag charms! I haven’t even done it myself, but it reminded me of my style in high school when I was more playful and kooky with my style. It made me feel like a kid again! I hope it continues- as you said, it’s infinitely customizable, so I think it has the potential to hang in there for a while.
✨Thank you so much for your hard work and effort bringing your fashion knowledge and point of view to your videos. I can’t wait to see what you bring to the new year✨ 🍾🥂Happy New Year to you and yours🥂🍾
my beef with "office siren" is that it felt like... terminally unemployable internet addled post-teens or aspiring influencers cosplaying "normal people" who have to work in a corporate setting to live. it's very 'rich kids dressing like they're poor' adjacent and kind of makes you feel like someone is (even unintentionally) mocking working class people, who have enough daily irritants already.
This is more inspiring than it needs to be and helped me finish a look I've been putting together since my sister sent a sweater dress and matching scarf/shawl to me for Xmas. It's a casual-fun dress, but the scarf elevates it a bit. Pairing it with a nice barn coat may be just the right thing to go with some warm tights and my fringed western boots for winter. Thanks for the ideas! I know these are 2024 trends, but some trends can be timeless!
I enjoy watching your videos even though I'm not big into fashion trends or brand names. I like to sew and create, so I appreciate your eye and the explanation of what you think works or doesn't. Plus, your personality is just fun! Happy New Year!
Being Italian and having grown up in and around the non-Staten Island 'aforementioned parts of NY', I love your take on the mob wife aesthetic. I can't even fathom what it means for Fran Drescher to be a template for this scene....what?!? Some sort of conflation of the quintessential NY character who is kind of Jewish and kind of Italian?? Also...yeah...grew up in a Mets household and how did the Yankess logo become a fashion thing....?
Yes the big bags!! Especially consignment finds! I found a Longchamp black shearling tote for $136CDN that I use almost daily to work so I can pack my lunch & a quick change of clothing if necessary & a Valentino red bow bag for $200CDN I use on the weekends because I can stuff alot into when I go shopping. Water bottle, reusable shopping bag, mitts, toque (I'm from YYC). ❤❤
Can we also leave boring, monochrome, neutral, beige bullsh*t fashion in 2024, too? Fashion is supposed to be fun and unique but everyone is starting to dress bland. Let's add the salt & pepp back into fashion & styling!
Please please please let 2025 be the year of no more "cores". Let these silly pinterest board titles stay just that. I wanna see a synthesis of different styles mashed up, a confluence of reference points and inspiration that can't fit neatly together under a marketing dept-approved label or the newest coined '[fruit] Girl'. Teach the children history and how to describe articles of clothing when they come asking "what is this aesthetic called?". I want fashion literacy in 2025!
I was happy people bought the “barn jacket” back I’ve heard them referred to for years as field jackets. I have two l, and I love them, have been wearing them for like 6 years now and I love it when fashion designs swing back around & I’m accidentally in style again.
Have you covered or ever thought about covering Project Runway??? I’ve been on a binge session lately and found myself wondering your thoughts on that show and the creations.
The mob wife rant with the heavy accent was PERFECTION. Also yeah the ubiquitousness of the yankees hat... WORLDWIDE!! Is so interesting and wild. And honestly something I've noticed for several years now (obviously the yankees hat as a fashion statement is much longer running but I think as something EVERYONE everywhere is wearing purely for style, it's only the last few). It has pretty strongly escaped its meaning as sports merch and is now largely viewed as a fashion statement that I think for many just represents Americana (New York specifically to Americans, and America in general to the rest of the world) and hip hop and street style more than baseball. I work in a very touristy establishment in Manhattan and have seen just about every nationality on earth rocking one, hehe. It's just like an obligatory purchase when you visit NYC. It was however very strange being in a small town in the UK visiting my in-laws for Christmas and seeing the most British looking man ever rocking a yankees beanie... in church! For Christmas eve mass! I thought it was so funny and weird. Also the mets are the way cooler team with imo a much more diverse quirky and fun fanbase. I simply love baseball so I'm simply an unironic mets fan but I've noticed all my silly gay friends and all the silly gay people I follow going to mets games just as something fun and different to do even if they're not necessarily big into baseball and I absolutely do recommend doing that. When I see people wearing yankees merch it can mean anything and everything and nothing, but when I see mets merch I'm like ok this is someone who lives here and is cool.
In defense of wearing the Yankees hats.. I hate sports and have no fav team but wear a New York Yankees toque a guy gave me once because of the clean attractive logo. If that makes me a poser then so be it.. lol
The hat thing for me feels more like a souvenir. Many people buy the same item from each city or country they visit, and often times that’s a hat, key chain, sweater, or tote.
I feel like buying a bag with charms already on or buying a load of charms at once misses the point of personalisation, they should be collected over time imo.
The Carhart thing is funny, esp since I’m wearing my Carhart - a lovely purple hoodie my husband got me for our second anniversary when we were broke and “cotton” was the theme - wasn’t quite 2 grand though. 12 years later it still looks great and is super cozy.
I have a long barn coat. That coat I have worn over 27 years. It’s an inline coat so it not too warm or not too cold. I’m glad I’m hip again at age 65😀
You’re so right pointing out that a lot of women don’t dress sexy to the office in order to avoid unwanted advances!!! I used to dress somewhat sexy in college (just form fitting clothes in general) and I stopped IMMEDATELY at my first corporate job. I didn’t like the looks I was getting from male coworkers. Sadly I feel like hiding my figure gets me taken more seriously at work. As a matter of fact I feel like I’ve been dressing like the same boring potato sack to work for 5 years, I would welcome a trend of new interesting work looks that are also realistic in that way
Luke, you don't have to soften the blow by 'understanding the comfort' of a ballet flat. They are not comfortable. They offer no support to the foot, their shape will blister your foot until it conforms to your foot by which time it loses the very shape of what makes it a cute little shoe, and they are sweaty as hell. And god forbid if you don't gave a perfect foot shape because I have never seen a ballet flat that didn't require me to try and hold onto it by curling my toes for dear life just so my heel wouldn't pop out of it due to my foot shape. They just suck as a shoe.
As someone who has worn glasses for over 30 years, I always laugh so hard when people want to wear glasses. I was a called a nerd! I mean I was but y'all it used to not be cool to wear glasses!!!
I've been wearing glasses for over 10 years now and I want to wear thev, even if I do lasic one day. Got used to them and feel naked when I have to wear contacts
@thectyptid00 honestly glasses are much more fun to wear now, I have a pair from Xavier Garcia and have never gotten more complements on a pair in my life!

Hey Luke I would love if you made a video on historical fashion during hard economic times bc Im sure you’ve peeped trends now being more DIY. People making handbags with crystal beads or homemade jewelry and now this new wave of people who sew (I want to get a sewing machine myself) and maybe how there are similarities and/or trend predictions for this next inevitable crash lol. The explosion of DIY came during the pandemic but its becoming less of a “trend” and more of lifestyle for people bc its more cost effective.
I'm a New Yorker in Williamsburg. A more accessible big bag seen everywhere is the Telfar Shopping bag, aka "Bushwick Birkin" I like the crazier colors, but I think Men look chic when carrying an oxblood or brown bag for their laptops or art supplies.
😂😂😂Luke had waaaay too much fun with that mobile wife esthetic clip. I love it! 😂😂😂 Hey!!! I have very uhhh full figured feet, and ballet flats are all I can fit in that go with work clothes 😮😢😂 I always enjoy these.
What a great video!! So informative, love all the pictures to demonstrate what you were referring to. Could totally tell when a trend was "good" when I recognized it because I saw it in real life and a "bad" trend when I went "huh? This was a trend? I never saw it."
Agree about ballet flats, especially the mesh version. Very few women look good in a ballet flat, they tend to make you look off balance. Then throw in the lack of arch support in most of them and you have an ugly shoe and sore feet. Mary Janes are so unflattering to begin with (the straps cut the foot in such a horrible way) so adding that strap to a ballet flat is simply hideous. As for the mesh? Most people do not have nice looking feet-bad enough to see them in flip flops and sandals-now mesh shoes. I shudder at the thought.
You'll need to take my porselli flats from my cold dead hands! 😂 But I 100% agree with everything else. And mesh ballet flats need to die in several fires...
I feel like the ballet slippers have been played out a long time ago. I am not a fan. However, If you do a slipper with a more pointed toe it elongates the leg and gives a taller look. Also, if you are going to go with a baseball cap, I might suggest Cardinals as a more favorable style to go with. Just a preference on my part. :)
New York Yankees hat: as a foreigner I had no idea, it means new york yankees, I though it jut means New York. Like an N and a Y only. Why is it not NYY? The office trend: I work in IT, which is not necesserily the most trendy work, but we generaly don't wear much lingerie over our t-shirts and blouses, but every girl is a big fan of ballet flats. :D Btw I recently discovered the series "The Nanny" so the Nanny Fine impresson of "Mr Sheffield" was hilarious. I don't understand how is she an inspo for mob wife or quiet luxury or whatever. I mean, she is a fashion girl and she has a very good style, I love it. But certainly not quiet luxury or mob wife.

La sakoj ene de *jklux* estas perfektaj kiel donacoj por amikoj. La prezo ne estas alta kaj la kvalito estas bona.
The last time I wore a barn jacket was in my early twenties when I was working my way through college as a milker on a dairy farm.
Yeah I have a Barbour one wear it once twice a year
I have had my LVNF for 3 years now and I rarely see anyone carrying the original where I live, unfortunately I am a big fan of the *hotdups*
I've learnt more about fashion from this channel than anywhere else
What about the Riders!?? I’m still praying for my green & gold! Delusional I know.
@heatherireland2810 The Riders will be around forever, for good or for bad, and I guess I still consider CFL to be below NFL so they still seem semi pro to me ☠️.
@@mcbeenerd CFL I consider to be its own thing entirely!
@@andodulinthe Mets and Yankees are different baseball teams in New York
1st of all, love you, also a big fashion lover and all that entails... but I also live in Eastern Montana and I have to be honest: the idea of spending $2k on a jacket I can buy at North 40 for like $50 is objectively hilarious.
but would it be reversible?!
Or buy at Tractor Supply stores 😂🧥
@@juliaz1965 babe...at $50 you can buy two. ❤️
@@kathleen4083 YEEEESSS 🤣 Anywhere that also sells saddles, tools, and heavy-duty fencing supplies.
2025 hitting that 1m mark and beyond. Such great work and artistry Luke.
I’ve had the same barn jacket for 25 years. It’s held up great. Glad they’re back “in”.
I hate to break it to you but the New York Yankee hat is pretty popular all over the world. We have two in our home and we are from Kent (in the UK) 😜
Why
The logo is very decorative, which really isn't a surprise since Tiffany designed it. It simply is a nice-looking hat
@@sama3997 to the conversation I guess this type of hat is from the USA? Or where from?
Thank you for your content- it’s a refreshing angle on learning about fashion. Your humor brings such warmth, and your sass just makes me cackle!
"Straight man walking" haha! And I completely agree about the big bag (great) and ballet flat (bad! unflattering!)
(note oil money not connected…but in Texas that might as well mean the same thing)
What I really want to know is what is going on with your bookshelves? Since I found your videos I’m constantly reading over your shoulder looking for potential books I might want to read and I’ve noticed a shake up going on back there. Where’s the plaid Vivienne Westwood spine? And now huge gaps of no books😮! Are you culling or reorganzing by the Dewey decimal system? 😊
Happy new year!🎉
I don't understand why a bunch of city people can walk around in Carhartt when they've never raised a cow or chopped down a tree in real life but country people can't have fun with mob wife aesthetic. Make it make senseeeeee
Can’t process chicken or milk in a fur coat….?
As if people in northern Eurasia in the countryside did not wear fur. Luke defending the mob is insane to me with these people are deplorable violent murderers and mutilators and their so-called culture it’s just borrowed from other traditions who are the innovators in the system. No one is inventing styles. They are all too busy murdering people the style comes from the stylization in the cinema by actual creative people. We can do whatever the hell we want with this.
Exactly lol. Just wear what you want. No one else's opinion matters.
Oh wow you got the same sacai reversible jacket I did, it was a bit cheaper at Dover Street luckily! Love it, hope you're enjoying it!

I can’t wait to see what you bring to the new year✨
🍾🥂Happy New Year to you and yours🥂🍾
my beef with "office siren" is that it felt like... terminally unemployable internet addled post-teens or aspiring influencers cosplaying "normal people" who have to work in a corporate setting to live. it's very 'rich kids dressing like they're poor' adjacent and kind of makes you feel like someone is (even unintentionally) mocking working class people, who have enough daily irritants already.
Luke, you are not only impressively knowledgeable, but delightful as well. ♥️
Due to issues with my feet and legs I cannot wear anything with heels, therefore ballet flats are my go to. Sorry, I will wear them until I die!
I must have been living under a rock, i never heard about these trends! Woops.

Happy New Year, Luke! Thanks for your wisdom and commentary. I especially enjoy your snark!! Wishing you peace, love, and joy!
Yes the big bags!! Especially consignment finds! I found a Longchamp black shearling tote for $136CDN that I use almost daily to work so I can pack my lunch & a quick change of clothing if necessary & a Valentino red bow bag for $200CDN I use on the weekends because I can stuff alot into when I go shopping. whether these were actual IRL, or just on social media, this video was FUN and I so agree with your take on them!!
Can we also leave boring, monochrome, neutral, beige bullsh*t fashion in 2024, too? Fashion is supposed to be fun and unique but everyone is starting to dress bland. Let's add the salt & pepp back into fashion & styling!
You have to grow up around chaos, clutter and clashing prints to truly understand the peace and quiet that comes from earth tones and minimalism.

Mob wife! Best rant all month.
I completely agreed with all of your calls! But the absolute best part was your take on the mob wife's speech patterns!! So funny!!😂😂
I was happy people bought the “barn jacket” back I’ve heard them referred to for years as field jackets. I have two l, and I love them, have been wearing them for like 6 years now and I love it when fashion designs swing back around & I’m accidentally in style again.
I love that part of your criteria is if the trend is actually achievable/ you see it in the real world and not just online
If that makes me a poser then so be it.. lol
Mob wife ascent 😂 love it. ❤
I’ve had ‘special ‘ ones on my bags for years; I’m in my 60s
I see it’s you, I click. Thank you! Happy New Year.
I’ve been wearing ballet flats for about 15 years and I’m sure at some point they’ll come back into style.
Love your delivery and commentary Luke!
I agree on everything except the brat trend. I've never been a fan of trashy/sloppy/torn/tattered styles though.
I love the reminder at the end that trends are cyclical and people can find the same ‘in’ items second hand (or even in their own collections).
the NY baseball hat is an American fashion staple at this point. lol
the barn jacket i cant get into it
I hate it! I think they ruin the outfit and make the person look huge.
Your feelings on the Yankees hat is exactly how I feel about bloke/blokette core’s use of fútbol jerseys.
As a matter of fact I feel like I’ve been dressing like the same boring potato sack to work for 5 years, I would welcome a trend of new interesting work looks that are also realistic in that way
I agree about the Long Island Mob Wife aesthetic, but I always enjoy seeing ppl rock the Balkan Mob Wife vibe
Reversible Carhartt is great. The style is also called a car coat or stadium jacket. Never heard it referenced as barn jacket.
I love a good MaryJane, but they are not ballet flats. When did that happen, anyway? Thanks, Luke, for pointing that out. Or - wear brogues.
What a lovely and informative take on the trends! Love you, Luke. ❤

A more accessible big bag seen everywhere is the Telfar Shopping bag, aka "Bushwick Birkin"

What a great video!! So informative, love all the pictures to demonstrate what you were referring to. Could totally tell when a trend was "good" when I recognized it because I saw it in real life and a "bad" trend when I went "huh? This was a trend? I never saw it."
I love your commentary. Simultaneously informed and funny.
We made those lanyards in elementary school and they want $6oo…paleeeze! BTW thanks for the vid. Great review.
I loved this session!!! The Titans of Tottenville!!!! Yes! This was an iconic episode 🙌
what s the brand of your cardigan? I love it. Happy new year❤❤
You'll need to take my porselli flats from my cold dead hands!
I live in NYC and your Long Island accent is killing me, much appreciated.
Btw I recently discovered the series "The Nanny" so the Nanny Fine impresson of "Mr Sheffield" was hilarious. I don't understand how is she an inspo for mob wife or quiet luxury or whatever.
