Spokane caught my attention because of how cloudy and simultaneously dry it is. Not much sun and very little rain but also seasonal. I like that. Im fine with snow, I just hate rain.
I don’t know why people don’t like Spokane. I moved here in 2019 and so far the sights are beautiful and the people are friendly. Thanks for the video! I’m watching this because sometimes you just have to tour your own town.
@vamvakoula asima pecatrix Well, the violent crime rate is low but we do have a lot of drug overdoses. It’s mostly hurting themselves but it’s still sad. And there are tons of jobs here because it’s not the coolest place to live (everyone goes to Seattle.) Spokane has small town charm with the amenities of a big city. But all this is just my opinion. Google some stuff before you come here and maybe even visit before you decide to move here.
i was just thinking that first line myself. i relocated from florida to california to go back to college and ive come to realize i really prefer the west coast like i always thought, but maybe not california in particular... so i have been eyeing spokane as the next adventure, possibly.
I remember being here for work for year 21 to 22 and I enjoyed how laidback everything was. But I was mainly located in Liberty Lake, just near the state-line. I may move back out there soon. I miss that gloomy weather.
Born and raised here in Spokane. Can remember downtown and other areas, since I was a kid in the early 80's. Many people here gripe about how much they hate it here. But honestly I think they secretly love it here? It's not perfect..just like everywhere else. I've always loved it here. When I at times go to NY for a bit. To work on music with some established artists in the music industry. I love NY..it's my second home. But when there, I miss Spokane soon after arriving in NY. I will say though, in recent years. I've slightly disliked Spokane though. Cause the huge homeless and drug issues that have been getting out of hand. And , it seems like Spokane is trying hard to be Seattle 2.0. Which Seattle is okay (to visit, haha). But I prefer Spokane over Seattle. Don't want it to be a Seat-town clone. Also...The influx of people from other states, which has driven up the cost of housing and living here. As much as I still love Spokane. I miss how it was 20yrs ago. Bought my home here a long time ago. And am on the fence about staying or, selling and moving to a small, laid back town? So many great memories here...Many great friends. However, some great parts of Spokane where memories were made, are gone. Like White Elephant, the old version of Riverfront Park etc..Plus many friends have moved, unfortunately. Or have passed away even.
Moved here around 1990 as a kid and grew up here. Wonderful city. Wonderful memories. Great people here I moved to Seattle area around 2006. I’m wondering if it’s changed a whole lot. I would like to move back
Who remembers black Angus restaurant and when Chad little came to Spokane. Spokane shut down parts of the city for racing around downtown... Spokane was a great place in the 80tys early 90tys to raise kids...then crack came up 1990ty with a following of different sets of gangs.Snoop doggy dog rapping about get your money on in spokane on one of his songs..lol The valley was cool back in early 2000,2003... Thanks for video....
The old town architecture looks really cool. I was really hoping it was a more of a walkable city. I don't see anybody walking or riding a bike unfortunately
i am from san jose, calif and i have been to spokane about 4 times, to visit a cousin, or friend i grew up with, my nephew went to gonzaga on a scholarship for first semester of college and he said he hated it, maybe because it was a shock, living at home with parents, then living in a dorm, IDK, but he did say the people were weird hippies at the college ?? anyway he didnt return in the spring, my brother was pissed cuz he blew a scholarship. thanks for the video
My two 1/2 years in Ritzville will always be a satellite 🛰️ experience of Spokane: the building design spire reminded me of that MIT LSD inspired architecture that had the same designer as that museum? In outer Las Vegas
From what I heard that are a lot of hate groups , the klan, proud boys and some others I know that there are hate groups everywhere but I've always heard this city was very prevelant to this type of behavior for spokane. It also looks depressing
It was a nice little city that had escaped notice for decades, but once people found it, they destroyed it by moving here in droves and legions. - life long resident
Actually he summer vacations on lake Couerdalene, along the kardashians, and many many other Hollywood stars. The Gozzer ranch to be exact. There are several private resorts for the ultra rich in the area. So kind of puts a different view on the area. And yes Couerdalene is in the Spokane metro area.
@@CrossoverGameReviews I’m going up to Spokane next week, now I understand why some are telling me that an LA chick just won’t be able to handle it up there.
This is NOT a video recorded in 2021! I live in Spokane and have for 43 years! This video is old! Possibly a Google car download? Probably don't want to move here because it is not pleasant. Even our news was referring to the meth drug problem as a methademic about 5 years ago! Good piece of advice... DO NOT MOVE TO MY HOMETOWN! It's HORRIBLE here!!

Spokane has a high crime rate , and you can tell buy the video a very dirty town ,the people dress like their from mars, huge meth problem and a lot of homeless people, and people will come up to your car and demand money from you , if you move to spokane make sure u get a firearm permit because u will need it, other than that a nice place to live,
Lived here for 50 years. Never had a problem, walk downtown at all hours , still no problem. Even chat with homeless population , which most cities have by the way, Mostly nice people with mental illness issues and drug problems, but still no issues. I’ve lived in all parts of town, and never had any theft or other issues. If you always look for it you will find it I guess. Live in fear and fear will find you.
I moved to Spokane in 2013. Two years later, I met a wonderful lady and got married. I'm having a good, happy life in Spokane.
I love that part of Spokane. I usually hang out at Manito Park or Riverfront Park and South Hill on weekends.

Looks like a holiday morning. I think this was filled during covid so fra less traffic and people on the street.
