I use fermented Rice Water (36 hours) every few or a couple of weeks. It definitely stops breakage, makes my hair softer, and helps with manageability ❤
I’ve just applied fermented rice water for the first time! Do you apply or before washing or use it as a conditioner? As obviously it has more of a smell! I’ve also heard black rice water is even better!
One tip for the cold… I leave the jar in the bottom of the tub, take my shower and do the rinse last and it’s not anywhere near as cold. I have low porosity hair… to the point that when I do the float test, it doesn’t sink. Even after five minutes. So I never use it as a leave in conditioner. I let it set for three to five minutes at most and then rinse it out. If my hair starts feeling dry or build up, I stop for several weeks and sometimes it’s actually better for me to dilute it a lot prior to using or rinse it out after 1 minute.
I am growing my hair and I just did my first rice water rinse on Tuesday (12/20). I put vitamin E oil in my rice water mason jar and let that ferment and when I put that water into my spray bottle I add lavender jamaican black castor oil. After the rinse I deep condition out the rice water and finally use the jamaican black castor oil leave in conditioner. My hair is still moisturized 2 days later. Im going to apply it every week or every other week. Im trying to get 12 inches by the end of December 2023
@vvheezy I stopped the rice water, I was doing it too much and had protein overload so I do it every 3 months now. I've been using clove and rosemary spray since July and I see a big difference in growth and hang time when I get my braids done once a month
You are VERY GORGEOUS! Ok, I had to get that out!!! Anyway, I will definitely try this method because it's just way too convincing. You're also very smart and you know yourself well. I love that. Of course the FDA won't test "rice water!" Money. You have the gift of reasoning!! I really enjoyed watching your video and I'm inspired.
ProTip: 💡Rice water contains starch you still must shampoo & condition your hair before use the rice water as a rinse let it sit in hair 20 to 30 minutes then rinse it out. 💡
You need orange peels or grapefruits peps along with an oil. This works for your texture but this method can be very drying for the average woman with a kinky texture
I’ve been doing it since the summer. It makes my hair so easy to detangler, especially alongside aloe vera, which is my secret weapon for detangling. It also makes my hair very soft rice water.
And i would use it between shampoo and conditioning, sit for 10 to 20 mins, rinse, then condition. Dont skip conditioning, not on the curlier, drier types of hair x
The better way to make rice water would be to save the water from your cooked rice. Make sure to oil or grease your scalp while using this water. Mint leaves can be added to the water as well while it’s being stored in your fridge.
Didn’t say there was more water, also rice can be cooked without the water drying out. That’s why you Strain your rice, to remove the excess water. That’s what you are to use on your hair.
Thanks so much for the experimental research it was so fun watching I’m glad your hair is high porosity so is mine so I’ll definitely give it a try following your example even though we have different texture mine is 4b and I’ll use a deep conditioner following the application. Thank again
I could be wrong but I think rice water is also potent protein treatment. Too much protein can make your hair dry and brittle and fall out. I learned this the hard way some years back. I wouldn't do a protein treatment for two weeks straight or even a week straight that's too much protein and it'll make your scalp itchy. Just my opinion, i'm not a beautician, scientists or doctor just a regular girl with 4c locs.
Thanks you have really helped me a lot I have been trying to find something to help with making my hair more healthy,to grow and give it a nice shine I’m going to try the rice water. Because I have locs in my hair and I feel they could be a bit more healthy so thanks and looking forward to sharing in your experience in your next post Happy Holidays 😊
Pro tip.....rinse the rice first, agitate it to get rid of the dirt and impurities (as not everyone uses organic and you want to rinse the nasties off), then use fresh filtered water second and let it sit....or ferment for 24 hrs 😊. There's less starch and nasties this way but still the goodness
I’m so glad you tried it, but maybe research a little bit more and look into the Asian version. You’re not supposed to do it for just a day, you have to wait a week or so until the rice water becomes fermented , and you forgot the oranges or the citrus. But kudos for your first try . But just in case you’re curious for other options, go back and do some more research. There are so many great videos on TH-cam on this subject. I’m always so impressed when somebody takes a chance and try something new like you did. Either way you have such a beautiful spirit and it comes across so well as we watch you do you thing. Plus your hair is absolutely beautiful. Rice water, or no rice water ❤😇🎉🥰
As mentioned in the video, this is the Japanese rice water recipe which is essentially just soaked rice water. The Chinese version is different by means of fermentation and also includes citrus peels, as you mentioned. These are two different recipes & methods that I’m sure produce different results, but for this video I chose to use the Japanese method. Regardless, thank you for your kind words and advice to try it again in a different way. Much love 🤍
@@stylebyariel thank you for writing back to me. I appreciate that. I did not realize that. Apologies. I’m going to try both ways....and I’ll let you know which way works best for me. Keep making your wonderful videos. It’s really a wonderful thing, when we can learn from each other. Much love ❤️
Thanks so so much for your reply will start rice water next week my hair is not growing and l have an itchy scalp will try the shampoo as well it might help me .
This is 100%t true I pour it or sometimes I will just put my whole head in a bowl that works to it makes a big difference then just spraying it on good job great information to share with the people 🎉⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you have dry hair it's not good to use rice water more than 1 a week because the protein will make your hair dry out! And you still have to condition after you rinse the rice water out❤❤❤
Because rice water is just water and rice and And it won't make your hair grow. Yeah, keep on playing with this DO. I you know, do damage to your own hair. II let my hair go dirty for 2 months and then I wash it after that. NUC results and plus I use oil growth treatment. So my hair and then it's either every stuff like that. I don't wash my hair every time. I get in the shower once to cause that brings out. You washing out your oils to your hair, you know? So maybe that's why your hair is so brutal. And got tangles in it because you washing it too much specifically without rice or stop need A. Deep conditioning leave in condition deep. Leave it in overnight rent. It out when you wake up in the morning. That'll be better for your hair. Get something to make your hair grow long. Leave that rice water blown. All right, sweetheart, I give you a heart.😊❤

Girl, I have hair envy! Love that volume and the curly curls!

When you cook rice though, there is not more water 🤔

She was to use an oil or grease while using this water to avoid dryness…
The itching maybe signs of growth
I WILL DEFINATELY TRY THIS RICE WATER EXPERIMENT❤
I’m trying this right now. Great video ❤
It needs to sit from 12 to 24 hours for best results
I am trying this now. I put the water in a spray bottle. When it was strained it was easy application

Does it work??
Rosemary water works better and faster
Did it make your locks dry?
ProTip: 💡The rice does matter Long Grain should be used, other rices have a high protein. 💡
Is too much protein bad?

I think that I have found a wonderful channel. 😊
Please try the Chinese version, if possible.
Noted 😊
I do it differently. I put the rice water on my hair and let it stay for a couple of hours and then rinse it off.
Thank you for making this video.
it could also be unknown yeast build up on your scalp. The sugars and such in the rice water could be feeding the yeast in your hair.
I like how every week u repeated the process of making the rice water...
This is 100%t true I pour it or sometimes I will just put my whole head in a bowl that works to it makes a big difference then just spraying it on good job great information to share with the people 🎉⭐️⭐️⭐️

How often did you apply the water? Daily, weekly?
Weekly :)
Once a week.
