Hey yall!! Here is my 6 month rice water journey. I used organic jasmine rice with every wash. I allowed the rice water to ferment for 3-4 days and applied after I shampooed. I always followed up with a conditioner. Sometimes I added the rice water to my prepoo or even deep conditioner. I found that my hair was healthier and stronger however I did not experience the insane growth that others did. My hair grew the average rate.

I see this video is getting a little more traction so let me clarify a few things.
I absolutely agree that organic black rice is the BEST rice to use. It leaves no smell and provides better benefits overall. I did use black rice for two rinses but I wanted to stay consistent with the Jasmine rice. You can boil the rice to stop the fermentation process.
Yes I didn't measure my hair the same way however I took length checks (off cam) while my hair was wet, dry, in twists..unraveled..etc. It was just about the same length. My hair grew a little over 3 inches but I rounded it up. I only got average growth...nothing too speculator.
For those of you questioning how often to use it..this is personal preference but I will treat it like a mild protein treatment. Only use it 1-2 monthly as needed. Follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner. Everyone's hair is different though and too much of anything is not good. My next experiment will be with fenugreek seed oil which I've already started using. I will sharing my experience after 3 months.
Thanks everyone for the comments and feedback! I appreciate it!!

Annette, I am very proud of you for giving a 6-month review. You have been very honest and as a licensed cosmetologist, I do appreciate your honesty. The truth is that hair grows from the scalp! If rice-water is going to work, it's because you place it on your scalp! The oil in the citrus will close the hair cuticle so that it lays flat. This will elongate the hair shaft making it appear longer. The average hair grows 1/2 inch per month. Should you experience more growth than that, then it's because you are massaging your scalp more. I hope this helps. P.S. It doesn't matter what type of hair you have, any extra attention you give to your hair (extra brushing, etc.) will increase its growth.

Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️
      *What is the Gospel?*
The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
      Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      Romans 10:9
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
      JESUS CHRIST can come anytime!
Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS

"booty orange arse".... I fainted!! Lol
How I fermented my rice water the day before wash day.
    1. Rinse organic jasmine rice (handful) after 6:00 pm.
    2. Pour boiled water on the cleanse rice in a M. Jar. Put led on the jar once its cold. Fermenting start..
    3. Next day.... Let's say 2 pm. Blend half red onion in a small blender.
    4. Pour the onion juice in a spray bottle and add rice water (no smelly rice water). I re-use the rice at least once more. Store it in the freezer.
    My hair care routine:
Shake the rice water and onion juice well and spray on scalp, hair ends and all over hair. Massage scalp well and cover my hair (4a/4c) for an hour with a shower cap on.
    5. Wash out with moisturizing shampooing (sulfate, parabin free) and conditioner. I love the Shea moisture hair products and NOW...
    6. Spray in leave in conditioner.
    7. Moisturise with Shea moisture.. or NOW Shea nut oil moisturizing oil. A little goes along way.
I do the rice water treatment twice a month. Sometimes once a month. My hair went from breakage, weak and short to a head FULL of hair almost a year ago. I do deep conditioner (10 in 1) when necessary.

Here are my results after using rice water for 6 months straight. I cannot emphasize enough to do your own research before switching up your regimen. I used rice water after my shampoo but before conditioning. It felt like a light protein treatment at times. My hair flourished in the first 3-4 months but was “lack luster” towards the end of the challenge. Overall I found rice water to be extra unnecessary step for me. My hair did not grow at an extreme rate. However keep in my mind I use A LOT of new products weekly. Now some pros. My hair felt stronger and healthier. It was also very easy to use the rice water. If your struggling with dry, damaged hair, split ends, or thinning I’d say give it a try. Make sure your also incorporating healthy habits in your regimen and I think you'll see great results.

I personally haven't heard anything negative about it but since I've been sick I'm being extra cautious because of the estrogen. I've only heard good things about it and I don't think it would actually affect me or anyone else and even though I was only going to use it as a hair oil I'm still passing on the Fenugreek anyway! Ass rice 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's exactly what it smell like too. I refrigerate it after releasing the air for a few days in the same jar. I don't fully open it at all for the release. Lemon doesn't allow it to properly ferment. I fermented mine for 4 or 5 days too.

  • @mirikira8632
    @mirikira8632 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The original recipe is a bit different and people say it works better. You need to wash the rice thoroughly, really scrub the rice ( apparently sticky rice is better) and use that water, put it on the stove and add pomelo peel, tea seed oil and they used bark from Camellia ( the oil is extracted from Camellia seeds), ginger and they don't mention what other kinds of herbs they use, but they are boiled together, then fermented for 2 weeks to a month.

  • @krystalbaker9434
    @krystalbaker9434 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi there. Please give this another try. I use the original recipe from the Yoa women. It comes from their Chinese village and has been used for thousands of years. They have great documentaries.
They rinse the white rice (sticky rice is the best they say), drain and add new clean water, scrub the rice between their hands in the water until it breaks to bits and the water looks milky, drains the water in a pot and throws away the rice, boils the rice water with herbs and a pomelo (the closest thing scientifically is a grapefruit), lets the water cool then seals it in an airtight jar 1-4 weeks.
This doesn't bubble or get putrid in smell because the boiling kills the bacteria that grows from sitting the raw rice water out. 1-2.5 weeks it smells like citrus and rice. 2.5-4 weeks it smells like citrus, rice, and a little sour in the background but not putrid.
Too cold of a temperature stops the fermentation process. Some Yoa women keep their rice water a month. I have also. When it's boiled it's safe to keep in an airtight jar that long so no need to freeze or refrigerate. The longer it ferments using this recipe the Yoa women said the more potent it is.
To make sure I don't get too much protein I alternate just doing my scalp then all my hair. Please give this recipe a try even if it's just seasonal. It's been one of my best treatments for years. God bless and best of success on your hair journey.

Hi there. This seems to have worked with you but I just wanted to let you know this is not the way the Yao women from China do it. You have to wash the rice once to remove the dirt then rinse it again by rubbing the rice so the vitamins come out then you take that water and discard the rice, and boil the water with orange peel and store it in a jar in a dark place for at least two weeks to one month before using it to rinse your hair. Once u rinse it, let it soak in ur hair for 20 to 30 minutes then you rinse it out with sweet water. You can condition it if you like. Hope this helps
