I personally loved Sonic unleashed. I liked the werehog stages, it gave me something new to do and I had to think a lot during the puzzles. The Day stages are amazing too. I just loved the game. As a kid, I could never get past Eggman Land, but recently I beat the whole game again and it was amazing. The werehog was great, the day stagesnwere great, the bosses were even better, and the music was fantastic.

My favorite is Sonic Unleashed. I think this game gets hated on absolutely way too much, and for not such good reason. The Warehog isn't as bad as people make it out to be. It wasn't the best gameplay concept of all time, it just got repetitive. If they added more unique enemies, more abilities and sped it up a bit I'd have no complaints. The day stages are awesome. They demonstrate perfectly what it would feel like to be Sonic himself, because it just felt that fast at times, and that feeling holds a special place in my heart. The stages all had a great environment, and you got a great vibe when playing it. The story was good. And the music.... DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH THE MUSIC...
Hated on? What Universe do you live in? Because Unleashed clearly isn't hated.

I played it on the Wii only because that was all I had at the time and it probably affected my overall opinion of the game. I should revisit it sometime
I love Unleashed, but I don't love the framerate, so I kind of prefer the Wii version

uhhh... am I the only one that likes Sonic and the Black Night, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic Unleashed, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic Lost World? They were all decent to me. Nothing horrible about them... Well that's coming from the guy that likes knuckles and big the cat levels... I guess I just like to challenge my self, but honestly... Sonic and the Secret Rings is underrated, very underrated... I mean... did you try the party mode? or did you not have any friends to play with? cuz THAT was the definition of fun.

Secret rings was my first sonic game
I honestly really enjoyed sonic and the black knight when it came out and played it a bit again recently and had a blast still
This list is funny to me. Sonic Unleashed is my favorite game and I've very surprised it didn't make this list. Sonic Generations is a game I gave up playing and it was third. Just goes to show people can have very different opinions about video games
How do you give up playing sonic generations? It’s literally unleashed in terms of modern sonic.

While i agree with the sentiment, things can age. Design philosophies tend to change, as well as trends and approaches to presentation and Sonic Adventure feels like a bi-product of said outdated trends and philosphies.

I loved it! The Wii U version at least. I hear the 3DS version sucked (but all the handheld versions are worse than the console versions so no surprise).
+HappyBear801 TeamInfinity The 3DS version has crappy controls (especially underwater), some moves are almost impossible to pull off because you're accidently gonna do another move that works almost the same, the 2D levels are way too long and lack direction and the time limit is one of the worst I've ever seen in any videogame. The story could be better too. Don't know about the console version though. I heard the controls of the WiiU game are better.

Yeah who do these guys think they are to say it aged badly when they put 2 games that aged like milk on the list? Colors & Unmodded Generations aged quite poorly. I personally think Sonic Adventure & it's sequel are the 2 best games in the entire series to this day. The 2010s turned the Sonic series into a joke.

You know? One of the only main series Sonic games you barely mentioned on your channel has been Unleashed. Sure it might be mentioned once or twice (most recently when complaining about the level lengths in Heroes), I wanna see not only a Triggered video (Even though it's my favorite Sonic game of all time and what I find to be the best Sonic game of all time from what I have seen and played.) but a Mind Blowing video too. It's already rare to see anyone actually try to have the positives outweigh the negatives. I only see a few downsides to the game but that's it. It was even the first Sonic game I ever played and since then, no other game from what I've seen or played has matched up to it and I wish Sega brought back the Hedgehog Engine, upgrade it so it can be a bit more powerful (can be called The Hedgehog Engine +), and you got a set up for perfectly beautiful games for the future of 3D Sonic. Imagine what a lot of Sonic games could look like using the Hedgehog Engine. They made Dark Gaia look stunning. Imagine what Chaos and it's forms, the Chao Garden, Biolizard, Metal Overlord/Maddness, the Storybook games, and many other games and aspects would look like with that engine and levels of detail put into them.

@@jamesonrock2927 Colors was bad, Generations is decent (good when modded), & the Adventure games are great. SA2 Battle was always 1 of the more popular games on GameCube & feels great to play.
Colors & Generations were kind of disappointing games. Generations was hardly even trying to live upto the games that came before it. Colors was a joke, & part of what started the worst decade for the Sonic Series.
The Adventure Games offered quality stories, & the ability to play as 6 different characters. Sonic Adventure gave each character their own playstyle, along with having Sky Chase & Twinkle Circuit as playstyles. SA2 took the 3 best playstyles from Adventure & split them between 2 stories for a rival dynamic. The GameCube version had 1 of the best multiplayer modes in the entire Sonic Series. I didn't even bring up the Chao Gardens which were great & should have returned long ago.

Charrii5 say things way too fast I need to slow the time to understand what he says
I’ve always wanted them to remake Sonic Adventure, I just feel like they couldn’t improve it so much and really make it an amazing game. It’s my favorite sonic game and if they remade it and I mean REMADE it it could be really good. Remake the cutscenes, completely revamp Big’s story and mechanics, and just make the story better by expanding on it, and obviously upping the graphics.
So, I really like S3&K because of the music, the stunning display, the music, the minibosses, the special stages, oh and did I already mention the music? Yeah, it's an awesome game. I only have one gripe with this game: I never got to play the whole game in its entirety. Please let me know where I can readily play S3&K (with the save feature and my progress saved) so that I can enjoy it to the fullest.
Steam is a working platform
I feel that the boost games are a mix of Heroes' and Rush's gameplay. You got the straight-ish paths then a small open area to jump over platforms and beat enemies like Heroes and the boost and 2D gameplay of rush. Of course they got their own gimmick like the wearhog, wisps, nistolga bait, and original character, do not steal.

Sonic 3 and Mario bros 3 were the first games I ever played.
Also the best to play first, along with super mario world. Lucky they were also the first I played.

I've played only one Sonic game, but I hold it very high tier compared to other games in general. Sonic Colors was to the Sonic series and Super Mario Galaxy was to the Super Mario Bros. series. The graphics were insane when it came out, it was super colorful, blast boosting speed, seven new super powers, six planets to explore, unique sometimes hard bosses, hard levels, a very challenging and epic finish, and dear God the music was amazing! This was a game that you know Sega put its all into, perhaps more than any other, since I see it as the most innovative yet. To this day, this game still looks amazing, is epic and challenging, sounds awesome, and is super speed fun to play. Plus, I loved the Sonic Simulator extra unlocks that you could even multiplayer. That's extra material that the fans actually wanted! It was a fresh new start to the Sonic series, and although a lot of these "fresh starts" have hurt the franchise, this one definitely saved it for the biggest console of the time and made the series ungodly epic! I think it saved Sonic like how the Adventure series did. Just look at how the DS version made portable Sonic good again, and Sonic Lost World was a big hit for the modern Wii U. Both based on the wisps. Colors saved Sonic and made him, well... Super Sonic!
I loved sa1. It was the first sonic game I beat. As for sa2. Well that’s my favorite. Don’t hate.

To be honest, chariii5 is probably extremely biased. Even though I haven't played sonic adventure 2 (yet), I can easily tell that it deserves a spot on the list. So good job for being so biased.
Edit: I have played SA2:B and yep, it's amazing. Also, sonic unleashed is also still a good game. So this list, I just don't know what to say.
Edit 2: And sonic adventure is also deserving of a better ranking on this list.

I loved Sonic Generations, but sometimes it would glitch and it was awful. I had a lot of trouble with the Shadow the Hedgehog level and I finally beat it, then Shadow got stuck and he kept running towards the wall. Since he never could pass the finish line (bc he was stuck) I could never win. I was so upset ):

Sonic Adventure 2 has some incredible music though. In fact, some of my potential senior (high school) quotes come from those songs.
For me, the gameplay in sonic adventure 1 was better in everything but sonic shadow stages and the level variety is better in 1, however the story in 2 is fantastic and 1 can’t compete in that area

I get it that the Sonic Adventure series is overrated and I understand it hasn't aged obviously, however, it bugs me to death that there are people out there whom don't see all of the glory in it I just wish that they could just like me. :(

SpardaGuy's a troll, both Sonic Adventure games aged fairly well. It's just that asshats have been trying to make them look bad for so long. They actually had the nerve to list Colors & Generations even though they aged like milk. Sonic was never supposed to be what the 2010s decade made him. The Sonic Adventure games are how the series is supposed to be in 3D, these days the series is the joke of the gaming industry.
I said to myself I'd be happy if sonic adventure made the list, so now I'm happy

I had to close the video when I saw heroes above adventure lol. I can play adventure 1-2 every week and not get bored. it takes me all of 2 minutes to get bored of heroes.
I watched it all the way through, and it's a pretty disappointing video. CD was above Rush, and Colors was on the list at all whilst Adventure 2 wasn't? Sonic 2 above every 3D Sonic game?

The only Sonic game I've played that isn't a crossover is Sonic and the Secret Rings. I thought it was pretty good, and I especially loved its multiplayer party mode.
