I can't believe it, but yes, Microsoft Edge is now my daily browser and THE best browser for Macs: fast as hell, stable, sleek. Chrome has become a bloated bag of garbage, Safari is quirky to say the least. I would encourage everyone should try it.
Fantastic video, very in-depth but also very concise! Only things I'd add is that you can actually add exceptions to the tab suspension feature, or turn it off entirely. Of course I'd recommend people leave it on, and just add exceptions for any sites that they don't want to ever be suspended. Definitely always save everything anyway, just good practice as things can always go wrong and anything can always crash or hang, but yeah. The other thing is that the tab suspension in Edge is actually a bit more complex than just stopping or pausing tabs, and as far as I can tell is actually a bit variable and can slow tabs down or limit their resource usage dynamically before it eventually pauses them altogether. For instance, while some tabs that I've not opened in a long time are paused, one that I used more recently is at 47% utilization.
Tip: Left click title bar and hit "hide title bar" to get rid of the title bar and save space on vertical tabs Edit: it is located within the settings on mac
How is the power consumption with Edge on any Macbook? I stopped using Google chrome on my MacBooks because they drain the battery too quickly and stuck to Safari
Thank you for the great information. Just a question on unwanted advertising content. Google is terrible with their adverts and unwanted material targeted at me via TH-cam, Gmail, etc. Does the Edge also track your browsing and send you unsolicited advertising material? I am sick and tired of getting adverts for products I do not want or items I do not need. Will Microsoft Edge monitor my browsing history enought to send me marketing and advertising material I am trying to prevent receiving? Thank you
You mean like very piece of software that connects to the internet? Unless you have something to hide you shouldn't worry about your data being sent to big corporations because that will happen regardless.
It is pretty funny how Microsoft products work better on Apple products, this is even funnier when you consider Windows is objectively the more powerful operating system.
really? Apple???? I would trust someone who takes my data and be open about it, then someone who is not open, after making 3x the profit. If you doubt me, check the privacy policy, the 'real privacy policy, not the "What happens in your iPhone stays on your iPhone" page.
No. Microsoft anything is not the best anything for any computer. I installed Win 10 dual-boot on my Mac for gaming and suddenly remembered why I ditched Windows decades ago. Just a horrible and ugly mess of an OS that constantly nags you about a million things you don’t care about, such as installing Edge. And with 50 chaotic and senseless settings pages, I really need to edit the registry to make the mouse scroll in the correct direction?
Exactly. I absolutely hate Windows, and the only reason I installed Bootcamp was to play video games and stuff, which was always a ton a trouble. For example, the windows settings app wouldn't let me change the audio output without a Windows license, but I could change it in the control center thing in the task bar thing.
This is is not about Windows vs. Mac, we're talking about applications, in this case, Edge vs. Chrome/Safari. Edge is better. The fact that MS makes it is irrelevant. I'm not going to not use an application just because I use Macs and Microsoft happens to make it. Edge is probably the best browser out there right now. Insane, considering how bad IE was and the head start that Chrome had.

My only problem for edge is tht sometimes, the back gesture on the trackpad is sometimes slow compared to chrome. Do u also face this problem?
@@incognito_userno I don’t personally

I am sure Microsoft is tracking just like Google does. Edge browser can run chrome extensions such as ad blockers. I’d install one of them.
Thanks for that video. Greetings from Germany
How do I fix the choppy/laggy scrolling on edge when using trackpad? Safari looks so much smoother but also uses way more RAM
Curious to know from you experience how the collections feature in Edge compares to the sessions feature in Sidekick?
I prefer collections over sessions because you have have multiple collections open but not multiple sessions with out adding another window.
@@jeradtech hi how do you know if any device could possibly have a recorder like a router or anything is there advance device. Can it come in any form
Sadly is like Google sending a lot of information to Microsoft. That makes it a hard choice to make 😅
OK you sold me on trying this out!
Thanks for another great video sir.
You bet
Ok this looks good!
Can I have internet explorer mode in it and open websites that use Java to use digital signature dongles
Old government websites that require digital signature signing use Java and work only on internet explorer or internet explorer mode of edge
Seems like a good browser but I assume it's sending a lot of unnecessary personal data to MSFT like Windows does by default

Like every app currently on your phone..

Is it hungry for ram and energy?
what about firefox?
Sticking to Apple’s ecosystem; can’t trust Google & Microsoft with our data; no gracias

@@8xus_1 Yep. 100% MS hater, since their products are crap.
