"So with topaz dragons... when they fart their breath weapon at you, the correct response is 'oh, awesome! It talks out both its-'" -the last words of a bard whose party didn't mourn long.
So, so many dragons over the years in dnd. Other metal dragons like iron, adamantine, tungsten etc. Outsiders like abyssal, rust, pyroclastic, or astral - epic level dragons like mercury and prismatics or even oddballs like song dragons. Honestly, dragons are one of those things where you could have your world teeming with them and the party may never know. I'm just sad they got rid of most of the age categories and sizes dragons could become.
I recommend to read the Draconomicon, a 3.5 book about dragons that introduces more true dragon varieties like Chaos Dragon, Battle Dragon, Radiant Dragon...
Note of Correction: The Gem Dragons originally appeared in the (Basic) Dungeons & Dragons: Master Set from 1985 instead of 1989's Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Monstrous Compendium. That said, The Compendium does have far more detail on the dragons, as the whole point of the Compendium was to give at least two whole pages to each monster covering habitat, culture, etc.

Dragonborn ≠ Half-Dragon
Depending on the edition, Dragonborn either comes from a parallel world or in the 5th edition, comes from dragon eggs as a unique race. I don't know why they HAD to have it this way and didn't just make Dragonborn the race name of half-dragons but it's an unfortunate reality.
When Sapphire Dragon gets a thing on D&D Beyond
the idea of dragon farting at you instead of using their breath weapon traditionally just because is kind of hilarious
Me (deep in thought): What does he mean with "barren field"?.................. OH GOD DAMMIT! XD
That was a good one, you got me.
We are the *Crystal Drags*
These videos are so funny!
"That the lord jesus is gonna fuckin slay with a sword".
Damn i love that quote.
I died laughing when you bleeped out the beginning of Cockatrice.
Now that's comedy.
You probably won't believe me, but he actually had to to keep youtube from autoflagging his video.

Getting a joke out and handling the problem. Ingenious
@@DaAwsumDude Hey out of curiosity, do you happen to know if it is safe to feed hydra meat to a human? If not raw, smoked maybe?
I actually had a player in 3r edition hat wanted to play a crystal dragon so I let em play he started young . decided to make let him "age" with levels he will got to large size and the party fighter started riding him. He chose goblins to be his favorite food and without any other goals he would hunt down goblins lol
I was not expecting the level of relatability from this video.
And now I feel slighted attacked.
The Dragonne is always forgotten.
HA! I knew a Steven Universe reference was needed for this episode
Man, you TOTALLY should explained the 3.5 version of where dragonborn come from. It would be a riot
I wonder if the Runesmith will do a update version of Gem dragons seeming Fizban’s recently came out
Would've been interesting to hear a bit about ferrous dragons
Cockatrice, aka. the Turduckhen of the dragon family
NOT FIRST!
Never thought I'd ALMOST get to do one of these. Love this series btw it's fantastic.
who woulda thunk someone would be there when it's only been posted for 11 seconds.
"So with topaz dragons... when they fart their breath weapon at you, the correct response is 'oh, awesome! It talks out both its-'"
-the last words of a bard whose party didn't mourn long.
You could say this video is a gem
We could say that, but we could also say it grammatically correct
You can't just try to sneak the Subnautica Sea Emperor passed me like that.
Wyverns are more realistic than Dragons because... their isn't a single animal with 4 legs / 2 legs & 2 arms that also have wings.
Gem dragons were also mentioned as early as BECMI though they were basically reverse alignment buffed up version of their chromatic cousins..
It only took a month. BUT HELL YEAH DRAGONS PART 2
Oh yes! Another dragon videos, nice❤️
Fizban's has since introduced gem dragons to 5e, but this was a good intro.
Since Fizban's Treasury of Dragons came out with 5e updated Gem Dragons and some new Dragon cousins (like the Sea Serpent), you could probably make a new version of this video in the future.
PFRPG’s bestiary 2 only has Crystal Dragon, so I guess it’s a bit more simplified Gemstone Dragon. It also has cloys dragons which in a fan of.
I think Emerald Dragons just became my favorite monster.
Gem dragons date back to first edition, originally in a Dragon magazine article, not second edition.
That's what I said, but people don't seem to really care sadly.
So now that we have Fizban's, could we get a revised version of these videos?
YOU FORGOT HALF DRAGONS AAAAAAGH! YOU HAD *ONE* JOB!!
Do a new one for Fizban's?
I just watched a video yesterday where I learned that Dragonborns are actually NOT the children of a dragon and a human but a totally different and unique species
They never were the children of a Dragon and a humanoid
