Totally! I've found it perfect for my usage as well. Seems to work well in a small to mid-sized room. I'd go with the Sonos Five if you need to fill up a larger room with sound! Enjoy
like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
Got sonos beam 2 and added these two speakers, it is absolutely amazing sound quality...love it....now wana save up for sonos sub and sorted, extremely happy with these sonos products....sound is perfection
Do you know if we bring this outdoors, can we use our mobile hotspot to make it in the same network as the speaker so we can use it? Thanks for the review! I just bought it.
Would you please tell us what is used to initial setup - Bluetooth or WiFi? I wonder, because this model has no Bluetooth at all in specification. And also a new speaker has no password to our home WiFi, so how the app find the speaker? Can you check it switching a single medium at time on phone (BT | WiFi)?
This speaker only works through wifi signal. There is no bluetooth on the device. You have to download the Sonos App which will connect the speaker to your home wifi and you'll be able to play music. If bluetooth is a must, check out the Sonos Era 100- which is the newer version of this speaker and it has bluetooth capability
@@NenadSapungin Thank you, so no need to switch on BT on the phone during initial setup? are you sure? I do not need BT on the speaker, I just wonder how new bought speaker can be found by the phone communicating via my home WiFi network which password is not known jet for him (fabric new speaker...)
@@jankowalski3401 there's a pairing mode on the speaker which allows it to connect to the Sonos App and then to your wifi. The Sonos App will automatically detect the speaker then connect it to your wifi 👍🏼
You have to connect the sonos speaker to your wifi through the Sonos app. Then once it's on wifi, you can play through wifi on your computer. It'll show up as a device. There's no bluetooth on these. So you will need wifi in order to connect/ use
Can someone explain the Wi-Fi portion? Why does it have it and do I have to use it? If I have to use Wi-Fi that would kill mobility. If I can’t use Bluetooth and have to use Wi-Fi that’s a deal breaker.
Yes, it only works with Wi-Fi. The reason is so you can connect multiple devices onto the same wifi network and have them all play simultaneously. The majority of Sonos speakers are meant to be used together and Wi-Fi is the best way to ensure this. Sonos has the Era 100 available for pre-order which will be the successor to this speaker. It will have bluetooth capability. Check that one out!
For anyone wondering how is the bass? My box is placed in my room in the attic, and I can hear it in the living room 2 floors down. It surpassed all my expectations
I've never tried to! I don't think so.. You can play TH-cam music from the regular TH-cam App, but not sure through the Sonos app. You don't have to use the Sonos app to play media. You can do it directly through your other streaming apps
Good review 👍 I have AudioEngine A5+ speakers w/Fii0 BT30 Pro Bluetooth/DAC that sound great connected to my TV. I also have a stereo pair of Nest Audio speakers that are super functional but sound just OK. I wanted to upgrade them to Sonos Ones but Sonos not supporting Chromecast is a non starter for me so now I'm looking at the pricy but excellent KEF LSX II's.
I have been checking out the One SL sounds, and it looks like I made a good decision for my surround theme(14'x12'x7' room). Basically was second guessing my pair of One SL purchase to go with the Beam gen 2 and the mini sub. (Have to admit that the mini sub really woke the setup nicely, so now expecting great things with the full setup.) The stereo fives were too big for that room, so now are for vinyl and streaming in the larger living room. Moving the pioneer Andrews out for the Sonos. You did a nice presentation for this product. Add some comparisons maybe as stated below? WiFi setup is spot on and easy so far on the other Sonos components. I expect the same seamless setup for the one sl's. Anyhow, thanks for the vid
Not directly. You’re better off getting a sound bar from Sonos if you’re looking to connect to your TV. Then you can add the Sonos One to be paired with the sound bar as additional speakers. But without the sound bar, you can’t use the Sonos One with a TV. You might find a workaround to this with enough Google searching 🤞🏼
@@keneferdinand9761 Yes, this is a wifi speaker. So it only works over your wifi connection. The reason for that is so that it can play music through multiple speakers over the same wifi network. With bluetooth, you can only play music through the speaker it's connected to. Over wifi, you can have many speakers all on the same network, playing the same song. Hope that makes sense..
On your laptop you need to have the Sonos app. With this app you can control the Sonos speaker (same like the app on your phone) or play music locally stored on your laptop. So it is not possible to use Sonos as speakers for your laptop.
@@NenadSapungin I've seen this happen a bunch of times on yt. There's only a finite amount of royalty free music available that won't get content claimed, and so people will randomly use songs that other people have chosen for their intro musics. It's always weird to hear tho.
I don't buy any Bluetooth speaker without at least TF card especially that expensive. What can you do with that expensive in the absence of the your phone, laptop or any Bluetooth powered devices? It cannot function independently and be like a piece of brick so expensive but useless material.
