The comments on this video have been more helpful than any comparison video. A bunch of people who own both unbiasedly admitting studio is better, which I’d already assumed tbh given the age of the Sonos. And if I want to set multiple speakers in the future (when I’m not living in a single room in shared accommodation) the Studio is compatible with a more expensive Sonos setup. Thanks guys!
jamkur yes the studio sounds awesome. So good I bough another one and use them together with the echo sub. Impressive sound for a compact and not too pricey home audio system. And with a FireStick can be used as a home theater system.
Idk I thought it was an accurate review, I tried them both last night and I agree with his description of the sound. I preferred the fuller sound over the slightly clearer sound with the sonos. I purchased the studio.
passive101 yes its stereo if you pair 2 echo studios together using the Alexa app. But it only works like that with streaming service like amazon music. If you use Bluetooth it’ll only play through one
"no play pause buttons" Dude what part of voice-assisted technology do you not understand? just say "Alexa pause" i have an Echo for 2 years and if I pressed a button more than 3 times is an exaggeration.
@@passive101 it's not about not liking the 3d sound, the 3d audio is absolutely amazing when playing a 3d track...spatial enhancement tries to simulate 3d audio for regular tracks and it sounds way more muted, turning this off makes stereo sound infinitely better and has no affect on real 3d songs
@@TheTruchan125 if the intent is just to solely have a music experience then yes. If you plan on eventually expanding and want to include home theater, Sonos is currently still a much better choice because of their sound bar integration. The studios tv capabilities are still extremely limited unless you use a fire TV as the only input source.
I personally have the Sonos and from experience the Sonos are a better product but it also depends on your personal preference in Bluetooth or WIFi. WiFi gives a better connection and sound quality.
Ronald Jeremy Sorry mate the Sonos sounded like it was still in the box. Maybe from where you were sat compared to the mic could explain that as despite the obvious bias I still want to give you credibility.
I own a Sonos Play 1 speaker and the sound is great. But I am replacing it with two Echo Studio speakers to create an Atmos capable system for my 4K TV and FireStick 4k. I have watched about 10 different review of the Echo Studio speaker and all but yours give glowing commentary about the speaker, its capabilities, and the sound quality. It seems to me that your review is biased by your association with Sonos.
Mr. Phillip Sheeler thanks for the comment Phill. There is only one Sonos One Vs Echo studio review on TH-cam currently and its from large channel. th-cam.com/video/ZsZZkGZo84A/w-d-xo.html like us his opinion is the Studio does not sound as good with vocals but still sounds great with deeper bass than the One. For us we prefer more detail in the audio and you won’t notice it until you do a side by side review which most reviewers haven’t done. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
Hi Philip, thats what i want to do, I dont feel like spending $1700 for a Sonos package that doesnt even has HDMI or bluetooth... i think with $500 I can do better (adding the sub)... my only problem is that ill be limited to Amazon fire hub.
You mentioned one of the strengths for Sonos was multiroom capability. Amazon Echos also provide multiroom audio, and you can pick what size is appropriate per room, from the Echo Studio, Echo, or Echo Dot, making it a very affordable full home audio solution. And, they provide all the smart home voice control wherever they are installed.
I know I’m listening through headphones but with his test it sounded as the Sonos was muddy and the Echo was more clear. I had to listen a few times to make sure I wasn’t tripping. Audio is based on the user. Everyone hear things differently and some ppl can’t hear certain ranges. I say try to listen to them side by side and judge for yourself.
Really, like actually or you just being a childish fanboy? I cant decide between the two I havent seen one review that aligns with you opinion, yet you always see this in the comments. Ive heard the sonos one and the sound is as stated in the video, its dynamic and widespread but controlled. I havent found a store that has the studio on display to compare
Juan Gallego Yep...that’s what help me make my decision. Went to Best Buy and listened to both. The Echo was better, but like I said, everyone hears things different. I don’t know if he was calling me a fanboy that’s why I never responded. But it seems like I’m not the only one that thinks it’s better then the Sonos.
I've had a full 5.1 surround system in the past. Amp, tuner, boxes, cables under the tv. The whole package. Sound and audio is so subjective. Last year, I cleared the lot out, including many metres of cable and speaker wires. I'm now delighted with my Sonos system spread throughout the house. Hassle free, great technology, superb sound, and it looks great. I've absolutely no desire to go back to “box technology”!
So you 'specialising' in Sonos, has no effect on your bias? 😃I reckon you might be a little bit not aware of it. 😊 What you re 'really' saying is don't buy Studio buy Sonos! But yeah, you are not biased at all! 😍
Because sometimes if you are closer to the speaker it’s easier to use the bottom than have to wait for the assistant to respond. It’s the same reason many prefer having manual switches in their smart home
I was initially disappointed with the sound quality of the Echo Studio until I turned off the Stereo Spacial Enhancement feature in audio settings in the Alexa app. What a difference! The sound is clearly less muffled and much sharper. Try it and see if you agree.
A real SONOS fanboy, I like SONOS too, my house is set with SONOS products and love them, but your are out of line, you CAN'T compare the 2 totally different units.
This is a real question- thought I would mention that so you wouldn't think this was a snarky comment or something lol. But why aren't the 2 comparable? I'm wanting a really good quality speaker that I can use with Amazon Alexa. What would you recommend?
@@homoerotic85 SONOS, but that's I got in the first place, I did tried the amazon speaker, and the sound quality in my opinion didn't surpass SONOS, don' take wrong, Amazon speaker are good but not great, I will suggest to give a try to both after all it can be return after a few weeks giving you enough time to compare, now the reason I don't get something better is money.
Hmmm.....the Studio obviously sounds clearer. the Sonos mids or highs sounded muffled. Maybe everyone has different ears but the Studio did sound crisp.
like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
(Note: This was written by me and posted elsewhere, so ignore the personal references - I pasted the text here so that I didn’t have to write it again) Ty: Two regular Echo speakers paired in stereo mode don't even come close to the ear-pleasing sound that comes from two Echo Studios in stereo mode. As you said, Ty, you listened to only one Studio speaker, and some of that listening was in a surround mode. The Echo Studio does not "shine" with just one Studio (when playing regular stereo music files, which are the most common). Two of them paired in stereo mode sound exponentially better. I humbly ask you to reconsider your 7 rating for sound quality and change it to 9 or 10, for the benefit of potential buyers interested in purchasing high quality equipment (no profit or financial interest for me). If using two Echo Studios in stereo mode, turn off the "Upmixing" toggle switch in the Alexa app (also called “Stereo Spatial Enhancement” in different versions of the Alexa app). Upmixing tries to adapt regular 2-channel stereo music to the 3D potential of the Studio. If you don't turn off upmixing, the sound will not be that clear and direct, and you will get the wrong impression about how good these speakers really are. The speaker will try to add some processing to the sound and that doesn't sound very good in stereo mode with two paired Studios. That processing may sound “ok” with just one Studio, but even then it's hit-or-miss, depending on which song is playing. Up-mixing is not perfect, as it is a fake or simulated (artificial) 3D effect; it’s not best for all songs and is awful on some songs (regular 2-channel stereo music). Note that upmixing is not needed for audio that is already encoded in 3D (like Sony’s 360 Reality Audio). Comparison of the Echo Studio to the Regular Echo: The regular $99 Echo has drivers (internal speaker units) whose sound gets somewhat trapped inside the enclosure case, as the separate woofer and tweeter drivers face each other with a small space between them (they point down and up, not out -- one pointing at the other!) instead of facing outwardly like the Echo Studio’s drivers. But the 3 midrange drivers and one tweeter inside each Echo Studio are facing outward and project the sound outside of the enclosure. That makes a big difference -- there's much more clarity and presence in the midrange and treble. It does not get muffled or trapped inside the enclosure at all; it is allowed to come out clearly and completely. I am hearing detail in songs I’ve been playing for decades -- details I’ve never heard before. Those details are clear as can be without being harsh or grating to the ears. The outward facing circular arrangement of the midrange and tweeter array act like sort of a wide-dispersion tweeter - no matter where you are standing you hear each speaker channel’s sound very clearly (ideal for when you are moving around, working in the kitchen, etc. And I am talking about stereo mode here, not a surround mode). The bass is clear and mostly tight - just right without overdoing it. And if you listen to talk radio on these, the sound (EQ) automatically adjusts itself so that the talker's voice doesn’t sound boomy (those built-in optimizing microphones work well). Finally, it is recommended to adjust the EQ settings using the Alexa app, and set the EQ to: Bass middle (5 on the scale), Midrange boosted to about 6 or 7 out of 10, and Treble to about 8 out of 10 (this sounds best in the very small alcove that I have these speakers set up in). Use a good-sounding music file for test listening - an audio file that has never been compressed more than once, and has been encoded well, and been recorded in high quality (not necessarily a hi-res file). An excellent sounding sample to buy and use for testing purposes is Rudolf from Burl Ives’ album “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas”. Sure, it’s an old-fashioned song but it is extremely well-recorded and encoded (at least on the specific album I mentioned). You can purchase it for 99 cents on Amazon’s online digital music store if you want to have it stored in the cloud and playable on demand -- on these speakers. Note about Setup: if you have a weak Wi-Fi signal, the slow signal from your Wi-Fi router may cause some confusing delays during setup, so if you encounter this, begin by finding a way to get an adequate signal strength to these excellent speakers. Move your router closer or maybe buy a Wi-Fi extender if your Wi-Fi signal is weak in the spot where the two Studios are located. After a minute or so of getting established, they will find their way to sync with each other and play in perfect, flawless stereo without you having to do anything after the setup. Written by Bob M (from Rhode Island)
It's important to explain that the Sonos One lacks Bluetooth and Line-In connections. So, if you want to connect anything other than streaming audio services or a pre-existing Sonos setup, its basically useless. I purchased the Sonos One for my Audio Technica Bluetooth enabled turntable and found no way to run audio through the speaker aside from dropping $450 on the Sonos Port home stereo system or by purchasing an echo dot and having that play through the Sonos One as its preferred speaker (which, at that point, why wouldn't I just go with the Amazon Studio).
Can you use sonos, like you can with echo studio, to be the audio output for fire tv stick 4k content playback vs having to maintain a tv setup specific soundbar and sub hardware?
Connecting multiple phones to the echo is effortless. You literally just tell Alexa to connect Spotify and the echo shows up on your available devices in Spotify on your phone. I don't understand why this guy found it complicated. My wife and I swap devices connected to our echos (we have several all connected into one single home audio system) practically every day.
Lots of people bashing him as biased because he thinks the Sonos sounds better, but there are plenty of respected review sites that agree with him. Most reviews say the Echo Studio is louder and has deeper base, and some people incorrectly equate louder to better, but most reviews also say that the Sonos has better sound quality overall. Remember that you can't properly judge audio quality from a recording. See these reviews: www.whathifi.com/us/advice/amazon-echo-studio-vs-sonos-one-which-is-better , www.tomsguide.com/face-off/amazon-echo-studio-vs-sonos-one
Depends upon your budget, your space, the genre, and personal preferences. I will say that, after buying 2 Studios during the past couple of days, I’ve tried to pair them and immediately gave up, because I have better things to do this weekend, than spend it configuring audio tech, like it’s Computers 101, from back in the day.
I notice in the video on the Echo Studios in settings the 'fake' stereo separation is turned on for this review. If this is turned off the sound is much better and clearer and maybe would have shown the Studio in a more favourable light?!?. I found this out by accident messing around with the settings and there is also a youtube video on this entitled 'if you have a studio disable this feature'. I do think this is an extremely bias review as Smart home sounds are an official Sonos dealer and obviously don't sell Amazon products. The guy is hardly going to recommend you go out and buy a Studio over a Sonos one but the fact that he does suggest that the sound quality is very similar should tell you how good the studio is even though in the review they didn't have the studio in its clearest setting. I have owned both products so feel I can provide you with a biased review. I started with the Sonos one, I wasn't blown away by the sound, maybe due to the hype. Its a good speaker but a terrible 'smart speaker'. We had multiple issues which neither sonos help ,line or amazon could fix. We were dutifully sent a replacement which also refused to work properly as a 'smart speaker' so after many days in contact with sonos help line and installing and uninstalling alexa app, sonos app and spotify app the second Sonos was returned. This was coincidentally at the time the studio was released so I pre-ordered one. Its arrived and setup was a breeze, Alexa worked flawlessly and so did connection to spotify. The sound was great sounding 'bigger' than the sonos but again I wasn't blown away until I turned off stereo separation which improved the sound no end. To conclude if you love your hifi and home cinema neither of these speakers will provide you with exceptional sound compared to even a budget to mid-range hi-fi setup. If however you want a 'smart' speaker and you want a bigger and improved sound quality over the more basic Amazon echo's these speaker are where you need to be. The sonos is a good speaker but very poor for both alexa and google assistant and general smart connectivity. A glance at the current amazon reviews for this shows its hugely lacking in the voice control dept. The Studio is easy to set-up, and Alexa just works really well as you would expect. Now I have turned off the stereo separation function the clarity is there, the studio is louder and definitely has more bass than the sonos. For me as an owner of both the Echo studio takes it on sound and is far superior in all voice control and connectivity departments
If you ask me both sounded a little muffled. What kind of camera are you using (mic probably not picking up audio properly (not a 5.1 mic))? I don't think youtube actually cares if you play a few seconds of 3d audio to show a preview of what it is like.
The fact that soooo many Sonos owners in the comments are saying that this review is bias, speaks volumes to me. I too found this video to be absolutely biased. The fact that he thought the Sonos was clearer was a shock to me, it most certainly wasn't...dead giveaway. The sound difference was just too blatant to deny. Seriously though, if you turn off the spacial 3D setting for the echo studio in the app, the studio gains even more direct midrange fullness (vocals) and increased volume...and if he knew that, and left that out of the review, shame shame. This is the first review in all my years of watching TH-cam that actually got under my skin a bit. The guy was either dishonest for loyalty reasons (to Sonos), or just has terrible ears for audio. No offense, just say'n. And for what its worth, I like both brands...but when it comes to sound quality in a review, let's be honest here.
Hi Anthony, thank you for your comment and I am sorry to read that you find this review biased. We did mention we like both of these speakers at the start of the video and we understand sound is subjective to taste, some people may argue that Sonos sounds better whereas some people may argue that the Echo sounds better, and that is absolutely fine. We made this video to give our opinion (as sound is subjective) and compare the features, simply to inform our viewers. Regarding the 3D spacial setting in the app, this was not clear at the time of review. Had we have known this, we would have tried it but we tested the speakers at factory setting out of the box, to give the most objective comparison. If you would like to read a review from an independent source, I do recommend having a read of WhatHiFi's comparison here: www.whathifi.com/advice/amazon-echo-studio-vs-sonos-one-which-is-better - thanks for watching!
Smart Home Sounds Ltd. Thanks for the response, and your "independent" reviewer statement and link only solidifies the idea that your affiliation or bias with Sonos is real. You may genuinely like the Sonos better, and that's fine because sound is subjective, and above all, it's your choice...but I think your not grasping the fact that your making yourself look biased, based on your history and interaction with Sonos. It's all about perception to the viewer. Good luck with your TH-cam ventures!, and keep up the great production on your videos. Great quality for sure, seriously!
If I was to connect a Tidal account to the Sonos can voice control be used to control the account or can voice only be used via Alexa and Google? Can I ask the speaker to play specific tracks or playlists on Tidal or do I need to connect Tidal to a 3rd party service like Alexa to use voice control? I’m interested in Tidal but Alexa and Google don’t support Tidal in the UK and without voice control It’s pointless.
@@smarthomesounds yeah that’s brilliant thanks... in the process of designing a minimalist tiny home, but fully spec’d with Smart Home Automation and Sound!! I have the Sonos Playbar, the Beam, and one Sonos One. What separates Sonos is not the audio but the incredible software. It walks you through everything. A negative, no bluetooth. Everything comes over the internet. I subscribe to Google Play, so the Alexa option on the Sonos and the echo is essentially worthless to me for selecting music. A few weeks ago, I got the new Beo Stage Soundbar. So, I put my three Sonos devices, in one bedroom, The Sonos app lets them work perfectly together. You can have them work together as your TV speakers, or for music. Absolutely amazing software.
I appreciated your review. One of the reasons I purchased the Echo Studio was to add Zigbee hub to my home and have a much better speaker than the Echo Dot.
Pretty easy for the Sonos speaker to sound mid and high clear, it has terrible bass. In terms of sound you can reduce the Echoes bass and get very good Dolby Atmos sound when playing a song that features mids and highs. But you can’t get the lower bass frequencies that some songs and many Movies require with the Sonos. Any minor bugs found in the Echo will most likely be fixed in future updates as Amazon is a juggernaut focused on improving.
The Sonos one sounded more compressed and tight and some people may like that but I prefer the projection and bigger sound of the echo ...great video thanks a lot for your help and advice in helping me choose which one to get

Did you have 3D audio up-scaling turned off (on by default) during your test? It sounds like the up-scaling attempt on non-3d audio is perhaps the cause of the muddy-ness.
I'm in the process of replacing my hi-fi stereo for something a bit more modern and compact. Are these speakers both mono meaning I would have to buy a pair for stereo separation? I noticed the studio has multiple speakers in it so I'm assuming that it is stereo?
If the song you're playing is not formatted to be played in 3D, the sound will be distorted. When you turn it off, only songs formatted for 3D will play in 3D. All others will not. Hopefully this makes sense :-D
My complaint about the Sonos is more it being a third party product for voice assistant, it doesn’t work well with voice commands at times. I got other Echos in house and this one always wants to takeover and play from it when it’s not listening.
@@loveistheanswer5924 Sonos by a very tiny bit. I overall like the Echo studio better and I don’t miss the Sonos. I would say buy based on your setup, if your buying more echos, get the studio. If you’re buying more Sonos get Sonos.
Agree the Bass in Echo is too much but really I like more the middle range in echo, are you sure about the 2 amps in Sonos because what you call separation seems there are some missed middle range for me I will like to see the sound curve to be sure.
Having a play pause button on a voice controlled speaker is pretty pointless. And why would you need a Bluetooth button on the top when it's on your phone? Having to get up and go across to your speaker to enable Bluetooth...wtaf! 😄
Hi there and thanks for the comment. The issue is it doesn't work like a normal Bluetooth paring set-up, as pairing can only be initiated from the main Alexa App. If someone else wants to connect to the speaker you have to be at home and then open up your Alexa app to start paring for someone else. Also, Sonos users were very vocal about including transport controls and play/pause buttons on their speakers so that's why they are there. Bose & Bluesound goes one step further and adds numbered buttons for instant playback on some of their speakers.
@@smarthomesounds While you make a good point, I have never had this issue. My echo studio is connected via WiFi and toslink to toslink mini. I also have Amazon music. My wife and children have never had to connect via Bluetooth. As connectivity goes, I'd say Bluetooth is one of the worst and there are better options available. Whilst some people may not like change, I much prefer to play, pause, rewind, fast forward and go to the next track using voice control. I can guarantee that most people use a remote or voice control anyway, so the buttons on the speaker are pretty much obsolete.
I think the studio looks way better. As far as the sound goes, I won't be getting mine for 3 more weeks because they are on back order. So, I have no opinion as of yet.
Sorry man but you totally missed the mark on this one. Obviously you are a sonos fan and that’s ok. These 2 speakers are vastly different not only in design but in their target audience and intended uses. You mention that you dislike the lack of play/pause/next track on the echo. I had to laugh, as someone who is steeped in the Alexa ecosystem let me tell you I NEVER touch any of my speakers. You want the next track? You simply say “Alexa, next song” same for volume and the like. I had to stop at 4:29 in your vid to post this. You need to keep in mind the intended audience when doing comparisons. Also about Bluetooth. I connect by saying “Alexa, connect to my phone”. You don’t need to open the Alexa app. Sorry man but you are biased. That’s ok tho you should be upfront about that as you may influence someone to purchase something that isn’t right for them.
Thank you for this video - well-presented (though maybe a tad repetitious?). I have neither speaker (though I am tied-in to the Amazon system, with five echos already). But I watched this with interest to see which speaker, if either, would be suitable for an audio upgrade. I did not realize you were a Sonos specialist - if you said-so, I missed it, sorry - I gathered from comments. I found your review bias but not in the way people seem to claim - as I have neither speaker, I cannot tell. The bias I detected was to modern pop songs and I have serious doubts that pop is a good way to demonstrate any speaker - pop from this generation, my generation, anything between or before. I love pop but one hardly needs great hi-fi to appreciate it. I also know you cannot risk YT copyright-strikes - but you could have tested off-camera and shown a comparison chart. You kept talking of "songs" - now I appreciate some people use that word to mean "tracks" or pieces of music but you did keep talking of singing. What about all classical instrumental music? What about jazz? (I seldom like jazz but many hi-fi geeks love it) What about rock - especially prog-rock, which varies between treble and bass all the time? What about using Queen as a test? - there is a whole hi-fi challenge in just one canon. But using a boppy-pop tune - from the 1950s to 2019, well not a decent test of hi-fi, is it? Anyway, because you kept referencing songs and singing - which I do listen to but did think a poor test, I cannot use your hard-crafted review, alas in my decision. For the record, I do not know if you were bias toward Sonos but I do believe your review was honest and had integrity from your perspective - my wish is for better testing but I liked your presentation style. Thank you for your effort. Best wishes.
I agree with what others are saying for starters saying it's annoying you can't skip a track who the hell uses the too of the speaker to control it everyone uses the app
James Agg Hi James, thanks for the comment. We agree but this was a feature that people wanted and were very vocal about when it was not included on Sonos. Bose go one step further and even offer numbered buttons on some of their speakers to allow quick access to music sources 👍🏻
I have sonos and a studio the studio sound is alot better and im planning on getting another also the studio connects to other alexa speakers so you can play mucic around the house the sonos only connects to other sonos speakers
This is a video bias in favor of Sonos, so the moderator favors Sonos. Also the sound bar behind him is Sonos. But everything is BS. Sonos is like Bose, all overpriced. Pure marketing.
I agree I like the smaller one but since I already ordered the echo studio directly through a local shop I will just be happy with what I got. I really like the stand the smaller device has. I think it may be a good idea to make a stand like that for the studio. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the two devices.
I was looking at the echo speakers but with no Airplay its a no go I prefer my music vocals clean so im going for the sonos in the bedroom and study and either homepod or studio if they make one with AirPlay eventually in the lounge
K if you use an iPhone or ipad you can transfer the music to the speaker like Bluetooth but you dont get the interruptions like messages or calls Coming through the speaker when playing music. You can watch TH-cam on your phone and play music without it coming through the speaker . If those things aren’t a problem then Bluetooth is fine but airplay is very good
So the Studio has Dolby Atmos, "but if your not interested in this feature skip to 13.10" and we'll talk more about your favourite the sonos! I think the Studio wins hands down. I'm gonna get myself one. Amazon should pay you, everybody's out buying the Echo Studio now.
Super biased. Also, you couldn't have missed that you can turn off the "spacial" effects, and you never bothered to turn it off when you were not playing a 3-D sound engineered song. When a regular song is played with special sound on, of course the mids will sound like crap. How could you have missed this fact? I know and I don't even own one yet. It's just a setting that is a pretty relevant one which increases the quality of the mids when special 3 D is off. You are either super biased or less knowledgeable about sound and my guess is you are simply trying to force us to believe sonos is better. I have heard the Sonos and wasn't impressed.
Very good Video. Thank you. This Video was completely neutral, I was able to identify my preferrences and find my own decision: Echo Studio. But that's my choice, you kept it open! More of this. Thanks
A great speaker, particularly for listening to 3D audio on Amazon HD, albeit a newer model is on the way that will provide even more immersive sound and will come in a white color option.
What was quite striking to me was the Sonos sounded terrible in your straight head to head comparison dynamic range seemed tiny and muddy in the mid range aswell. I've heard some other Sonos products and been very impressed but from your video I will be buying an echo studio.
Completely understandable as everyone's ears are different and can't tell you one speaker sounds better than the other. Hope you enjoy your Echo Studio :)
Interesting. Would recommend the Echo plus 2nd gen in a stereo pair if you've not tried that and along with an echo sub that will blow any Sonos one pair out of the water. Spotify streaming quality is awful. I used to subscribe and I think people do actually like higher quality bit rate - now very outdated in relation to Tidal or the best one, Amazon ultra HD. I'm not an Amazon fan boy, I've tried them all.
This is the most biased review I have seen how much did sonos pay you for this

I personally have the Sonos and from experience the Sonos are a better product but it also depends on your personal preference in Bluetooth or WIFi. WiFi gives a better connection and sound quality.
Ronald Jeremy
Sorry mate the Sonos sounded like it was still in the box. Maybe from where you were sat compared to the mic could explain that as despite the obvious bias I still want to give you credibility.
I have the Sonos 5.1 system, it’s so amazing
I own a Sonos Play 1 speaker and the sound is great. But I am replacing it with two Echo Studio speakers to create an Atmos capable system for my 4K TV and FireStick 4k. I have watched about 10 different review of the Echo Studio speaker and all but yours give glowing commentary about the speaker, its capabilities, and the sound quality. It seems to me that your review is biased by your association with Sonos.
Mr. Phillip Sheeler thanks for the comment Phill. There is only one Sonos One Vs Echo studio review on TH-cam currently and its from large channel. th-cam.com/video/ZsZZkGZo84A/w-d-xo.html
like us his opinion is the Studio does not sound as good with vocals but still sounds great with deeper bass than the One.
Dolby atmos, yea right, what a joke! :D
Hi, did you do the above? Been considering the same set up 👍
Does feel a bit like it’s sponsored by Sonos haha
You mentioned one of the strengths for Sonos was multiroom capability. Amazon Echos also provide multiroom audio, and you can pick what size is appropriate per room, from the Echo Studio, Echo, or Echo Dot, making it a very affordable full home audio solution. And, they provide all the smart home voice control wherever they are installed.
Echo has not even a Wireless Solution for the Garden or Taking a Speaker with you somewhere you want in the house if needed.
I have both. I will go out on a limb here. The echo smashes the Sonos one on sound quality. It's as simple as that.
Haha I was thinking the same, this guy sucks sonos teets
@@starsky8351 best buy does bro, and trust me it kills the sonos
Juan Gallego
Yep...that’s what help me make my decision.
Your earlier system was owned by you. Your new system is owned by sonos and the Internet
I'm trying to do this change
So you 'specialising' in Sonos, has no effect on your bias? 😃I reckon you might be a little bit not aware of it. 😊 What you re 'really' saying is don't buy Studio buy Sonos! But yeah, you are not biased at all! 😍
Why do you need pause and skip buttons when you tell it to do it so you don’t actually have to get up across the room and press a button
Because sometimes if you are closer to the speaker it’s easier to use the bottom than have to wait for the assistant to respond. It’s the same reason many prefer having manual switches in their smart home
This guy is a Sonos Sales Rep
I was initially disappointed with the sound quality of the Echo Studio until I turned off the Stereo Spacial Enhancement feature in audio settings in the Alexa app. What a difference! The sound is clearly less muffled and much sharper. Try it and see if you agree.
Yes, makes it sound much better!
Absolutely thx mate
turning off this setting is affecting the Dolby Atmos?
@@johnnyc6628is it?
Comparison of the Echo Studio to the Regular Echo:
The regular $99 Echo has drivers (internal speaker units) whose sound gets somewhat trapped inside the enclosure case, as the separate woofer and tweeter drivers face each other with a small space between them (they point down and up, not out -- one pointing at the other!) instead of facing outwardly like the Echo Studio’s drivers.
How much did sonos pay u? 😂
Smart Home Sounds Is a official Sonos retailer, say no more.
Wich has the better sound quality? The echo studio or the Sonos one?
As someone has already mentioned....TURN OFF THE SPATIAL ENHANCEMENT !
Can you use sonos, like you can with echo studio, to be the audio output for fire tv stick 4k content playback vs having to maintain a tv setup specific soundbar and sub hardware?
Do you know the answer by now? 🙂
I have Sonos everywhere in my house but one thing I love with the Echo is the drop-in feature which was not touched in this review.
You can actually make phone calls from your echo. I do all the time.
And skill use. Sonos sucks in that area!
What is the drop in feature? Wich of this two has the better sound quality? 🙂
From the off this bloke was a Sonos fanboy.
Which one has a battery and can work without cord?
Can i have two echo studios and Bluetooth music to both? Or only via WiFi ?
How can we compare sound, we're listening to it on our sound system??
Connecting multiple phones to the echo is effortless. You literally just tell Alexa to connect Spotify and the echo shows up on your available devices in Spotify on your phone.
I don't understand why this guy found it complicated. My wife and I swap devices connected to our echos (we have several all connected into one single home audio system) practically every day.
There is no way in hell that Sonos sounds better than the echo studio. I’m getting the echo studio
whats the most important thing in a speaker? the sound or looks?

So what happens if I buy 5 speakers for my Surroundsound living room will that work for the Dolby
I am looking for speakers for my leaving room
For casual Music listening, which of Sonos are best ?
I own a play 5 and 4 play 1s & the studio blows the sonos one out of the universe, you either deaf or biased
Smart Home Sounds Ltd. Are you kidding? What Hi Fi are just as biased as you seem to be. Afraid of losing their Sonos advertising no doubt.....🙁
this guys is so biased....
Hello Jonathan, if I set up the Sonos as my main speaker for my mac book pro. will I be able to use the mic & speaker for video calls as will?

I have the Sonos Playbar, the Beam, and one Sonos One. What separates Sonos is not the audio but the incredible software. It walks you through everything. A negative, no bluetooth. Everything comes over the internet. I subscribe to Google Play, so the Alexa option on the Sonos and the echo is essentially worthless to me for selecting music.

The Sonos app lets them work perfectly together. You can have them work together as your TV speakers, or for music.

I appreciated your review. One of the reasons I purchased the Echo Studio was to add Zigbee hub to my home and have a much better speaker than the Echo Dot.
Yeah, I’m on Wink, with Cree Connected (not Max) bulbs. It’s why I’m returning the HomeHub.
Can you use the Echo Studio Smart Speaker as a Bluetooth speaker like with your pc, Mac, tablet?
yes..seamlessly. you can connect echo studio to laptop, phone or anything that has bluetooth sound output. Go for it, you wont regret.
Is the Echo Studio the best speaker for 250€? In terms of audio quality?
Biased comparison if you ask me and I love Sonos.
The Sonos one sounded more compressed and tight and some people may like that but I prefer the projection and bigger sound of the echo ...great video thanks a lot for your help and advice in helping me choose which one to get
For my space, I like that the Studio will spread out the sound.
Have you heard them in person or just through the video?
I am thinking about getting an echo studio. Is it the best speaker for around 250€ or are there some that have better sound quality?

Sonos is overpriced like Bose, pure marketing. I prefer Sony or Samsung. And the Echo Studio over Sonos.
Did you have 3D audio up-scaling turned off (on by default) during your test? It sounds like the up-scaling attempt on non-3d audio is perhaps the cause of the muddy-ness.
I use a Sonos One in a 30ft long kitchen - sounds ace, not sure it’s limited to just a small space
When using my Firestick, I can use my Echo for my audio. Can you play the audio through the sonos?
Wow, you can tell the studio sounds way better. Even in your video without hearing it in person.
I agree with a lot of the other comments, very biased towards the Sonos speaker.
Can I add the ech studio to be playing as a slave speaker to my already set up Sonos system?? Thanks
I'm in the process of replacing my hi-fi stereo for something a bit more modern and compact. Are these speakers both mono meaning I would have to buy a pair for stereo separation? I noticed the studio has multiple speakers in it so I'm assuming that it is stereo?
Is also one studio stereo?
You might want to retry the sound test with the speakers near a wall, where they are normally placed.
People saying turn off 3D. Isn't that one of the main selling points? If you're going to turn it off what's the point?
If the song you're playing is not formatted to be played in 3D, the sound will be distorted. When you turn it off, only songs formatted for 3D will play in 3D. All others will not. Hopefully this makes sense :-D
We get it, u love sonos.
Btw, the playbar in the back is not helping.
Remember the echo studio is also meant for 3D audio
My complaint about the Sonos is more it being a third party product for voice assistant, it doesn’t work well with voice commands at times. I got other Echos in house and this one always wants to takeover and play from it when it’s not listening.
Wich has the better sound quality? The Sonos one or the echo studio?
@@loveistheanswer5924 Sonos by a very tiny bit. I overall like the Echo studio better and I don’t miss the Sonos. I would say buy based on your setup, if your buying more echos, get the studio. If you’re buying more Sonos get Sonos.
Agree the Bass in Echo is too much but really I like more the middle range in echo, are you sure about the 2 amps in Sonos because what you call separation seems there are some missed middle range for me I will like to see the sound curve to be sure.
So has the echo studio the better sound quality? Better then the Sonos one?
Wow both at 75% volume the echo studio crushed the sonos... echo studio for me thanks.
You can turn on the Spotify connect for everyone with the "Alexa, spotify connect" command.
oh wow! Thank you so so much - had trouble finding my Echos via Spotify Connect. So simple 😮🙈😍
Do you have a studio? How is the sound quality? 🙂
@@loveistheanswer5924 I have two and have them paired together for stereo. I love my Studio.

This looks like a Sonos recommendation more than what the title of your video sais it is .
No Offence but slightly biased comments. Thanks for the review!
What about jbl and echo comparison
"Home retailer dedicated to finding the right speakers for you" Well that's a lie. They are dedicated to selling Sonos.
I prefer Amazon Echo devices over Google Home or Sonos. I like these mediatek-powered devices for their affordability and efficiency.
I have sonos and a studio the studio sound is alot better and im planning on getting another also the studio connects to other alexa speakers so you can play mucic around the house the sonos only connects to other sonos speakers
Studio way better..it also can be controlled with the echo remote control
why are you reviewing the lowest end sonos speaker compared to the highest end echo speaker
I have both and the echo sounds a little better
This is a video bias in favor of Sonos, so the moderator favors Sonos. Also the sound bar behind him is Sonos. But everything is BS. Sonos is like Bose, all overpriced. Pure marketing.
i was the 1k like giver.......
great video bro

I agree I like the smaller one but since I already ordered the echo studio directly through a local shop I will just be happy with what I got. I really like the stand the smaller device has. I think it may be a good idea to make a stand like that for the studio. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the two devices.
Are you satisfied with the studio? Wich has the better sound quality?
I had the Sonos, their was a delay when listening to music and TH-cam, I have gigabit speeds!
I was looking at the echo speakers but with no Airplay its a no go
I prefer my music vocals clean so im going for the sonos in the bedroom and study
and either homepod or studio if they make one with AirPlay eventually in the lounge
I was thinking of getting one, what’s the benefits of airplay?
K if you use an iPhone or ipad you can transfer the music to the speaker like Bluetooth but you dont get the interruptions like messages or calls
Coming through the speaker when playing music.
Have you tested both? I am thinking about getting a studio. 🤔🙂
Is the newest studio a lot better?
When I buy now a echo studio from amazon then it is the newest echo studio right? From 2023 right?
the play/pause button for the echo is on your phone ffs.
Or tell it to pause
What was quite striking to me was the Sonos sounded terrible in your straight head to head comparison dynamic range seemed tiny and muddy in the mid range aswell. I've heard some other Sonos products and been very impressed but from your video I will be buying an echo studio.
Completely understandable as everyone's ears are different and can't tell you one speaker sounds better than the other. Hope you enjoy your Echo Studio :)
So the Studio is like Beats headphones and the Sonos is like a nice pair of Sennheisers. Amazon will sell a ton of these.
Guess that only the Sonos are available at your shop..? ;)
So why are you comparing the 1 and not the 3 or 5 which they would be it's competition
Where is Amazons 5.1 surround sound system
I’m sorry for the price I will go with echo studio any day of the week I actually have four of them and it is amazing when you pair them together
Awesome! thanks so much for the review
Wich has better sound quality the echo studio or the Sonos one?
