Long time watcher, first time commenter. Love the series, btw, 2001scape is giving me a different perspective about all of the weird bits baked into the world (for instance, why the food shop in Yanille has the stock it does, etc). While I have no experience in this form of the game, it has prompted me to go into wiki research mode, cross referencing the sparse 2001 wiki, with the rsc wiki (time dated), old school wiki, etc. From what I’ve been able to piece together here’s a few bits of info I think would be useful if you can confirm them in game:
From the trivia section of the rsc wiki it mentioned that cooking level used to affect the hp restored of cooked meat, but didn’t reference any other foods. It might not help pies, bread, or cakes, but due to the speed of acquiring it might be worth it. If every 15lvs gives +1 hp per meat,45+ cooking would make meat heal the same as red berry pie, but in a single click. In a previous video one of the players was pming you about training cooking using Wydens food store in port sarim and using the range just north of it. At least in old school there is also a sink, and the store sells red berries, flour, and raw meat, so if you bring a bucket/pitcher and some pie dishes it might be worth while.
    2) Steel swords probably won’t be an increase in gp/hr due to coal being slow to mine, however practical testing would be useful. According to the rsc wiki, before silver was added into the game July 12, 2001 (after the May backup?) there were coal rocks in the varrock west mine, same spot as the silver ores in old school. If that’s true, the bottom-most 4 rocks should be 2 iron and 2 coal with an extra coal directly north of the easternmost ore. The rsc wiki page for varrock west mine has a picture, just replace silver for coal. If the mining speed of coal is too slow, I was looking at value/bar for iron, and I think at 33+ smithing the most profitable and fast thing would be iron platebodies, selling at Horvic at varrock east anvils. Should be ~10% more gp per bar, and faster. In addition, since you’re keeping the cash stack with you, it might be worthwhile to drop the hammer and rebuy from the general store each trip so you can carry more ores, though in that case maybe you should train cooking till cakes (or even chocolate cakes) for more healing per slot.
    3) It’s actually good you messed up in Shield of Arrav, those phoenix crossbows are tied with the regular crossbow for being the strongest ranged weapons in the game, make rebuilds marginally easier. RSC wiki does state goblins drop 1-8 bolts, so you’re not imagining it, though it might be worthwhile to switch to longbow and arrows to train due them only costing 1 gp per ammo instead of 3.
