  • Step-by-step guide on refilling / recharging ac air conditioner on Ford Explorer SUV. A/C not working or blowing warm air? ( 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | 2020 | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | SPORT | 3.5L | ECOBOOST ).
    This video was recorded on a 2014 Ford Explorer. Process will be the same on any Explorer, only difference might be the location of the low pressure charging port.
    To recharge the air conditioner you will need an a/c recharge kit which consists of ac recharge hose with a gauge and couple of a/c refrigerant cans. You will screw the ac refrigerant can onto one side of the hose and connect other side of the hose to a low pressure charging port. Then you will pierce the can by turning the knob all the way in. Now start the vehicle, turn on the A/C and set the fan speed to the highest setting. Slowly start releasing the knob on the a/c can which will charge the system. Make sure to keep monitoring the gauge on the recharge hose. Be careful not to overfill the system as that might damage the a/c compressor. Once you are done and happy with the results turn off the engine and disconnect everything. A/C recharge hose can be reused as many times as you wish.
    This will work in case there is no major leaks in the a/c lines and a/c compressor is working. If you have a minor leak you can try recharging the system with ac stop leak which sometimes works. If not you will have to take the vehicle to a professional shop for the proper diagnostics.
    Thanks for watching.

    How much pai does ford explorer 2013 sport take??? I dont want pound or oz i want psi

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  ปีที่แล้ว

      It will depend whether you Explorer has rear climate or no. Best reference is always the sticker on the vehicle. Unfortunately it usually shows in grams or pounds. So you will have to recalculate, but generally should be 40 - 60 PSI

      you cant charge with PSI, the pressures fluctuate depending on ambient temperatures.

      But all gauges work by PSI.. do i have to empty the system all the way to start all over by measuring two cans???!

    If you pierce the can WITHOUT your AC ON MAX, you WILL Damage the SYSTEM!!!

      Not with these cans. Not the perfect way to do it but I’ve done it before it or last YEARS. $30 can vs $500+ at the dealership .

      @@brunorigo but millions of people have just gone the Can route and it’s enough to fix it.
