Its a strange one for me. Not in a million years would he have been signed by united to play RB. Played CB and CDM for the youth team. Wasnt good enough to play those positions for the 1st team. Fergie just seemed to put anyone RB. Started with Paul Parker, signed as a CB, not good enough, stuck him RB. Phil nev played there, as well as LB and midfield. Phil was a much better footballer than Gary, kind of to his detriment as he could do a job in different positions, so became a squad player. John o'shea the same, played RB among other positions. Wes Brown played there. Smalling. Valencia.....all kind of stuck in there at different times to fill a gap.....and the fact you had the best RB in the league playing LB, Dennis Irwin! People go on about Trent these days, Dennis could do all that and defend as well....plus be a great LB! And the other thing people talk about is Garys relationship with Becks. Obviously best mates. But Gary was a FAR better player after Becks left! He read the game better, obviously became more confident and his passing and crossing improved a lot as he got older. His crossing was shocking in the early years...nearly as bad as Bissaka. The fact that Gary played in a successful team that won so much, people seem to rate him very highly. But whether gary played or not, that team would still have won what it won! If we had signed a good LB and had Irwin RB, we wouldve won more! But Gary worked hard and did improve and from his mid 20's on he was a good player and became a good RB. I laugh every time I see him voted into the all time prem team at RB. Not even sure he was the best RB in his family, just played there a lot more than his brother! But certainly the likes of Walker on a different level. @txbill2512 he bought Maupay fell out with Doucoure, couldn't get a tune out of McNeil and would've got us relegated without a points deduction.Lampard is eloquent and a media darling but a lousy coach.
Lads like I said He Tryed but didn’t work out thats my statement… his heart was in the right place for the Fans and the Club .. but sadly on the pitch it was not the best🤝👍
Frank Lampard what a player what a humble geeza grew up wanting to be him good luck in the future👊🏻
Really like the interaction between Gary, Ian, Roy and Jamie. It works well.
Brilliant to listen to Frank here, encyclopedia of knowledge about the game and very well spoken
Keane is spot on about the raspberry mini rolls, stupendous confectionary
Roy pouring tea for Frank. What a scene...
I'd love Roy to get the Ireland job. Think he could really get the crowd back on board.
I just said the same... it will boost the crowds morale and also its a young group of players that he would have the respect of them straight away.... but Lee carsley looks like he will get it...
Not a hope. Too divisive a figure with a poor management career behind him.
Yeah.. and the players off board.
That French team had Zidane , Henry , Viera , Pires , Petit , Makelele, thuram , trezeguet to name a few . Italy has an unbelievable team and Netherlands had some serious stars too
Brazil too
Frank is such a nice person in general I hope he can find a club to get back on track with his manager career
Grimbsy Town.
"Oh another great lad" gets me everytime
Quite new to this, but started watching the stick to football pod before xmas and completely hooked. So refreshing. Watched them all and went back through the individual interviews leading into this series too. Think we've needed something like this for over a decade. Very insightful and jokes all round. Fair play
Say whatever you want, Frank Lampard is one of the greatest midfielders ever.. and on top of that, what a wonderful lad.. i like him so much, hope one day he becomes a super successful manager
You guys gotta start thinking about making this twice a week… the conversations are so natural and easy. Two a week wouldn’t water it down one bit
Frank was a fantastic watch. It was great to have a new perspective on the show, especially regarding that mid 00s chelsea team. Just fabulous casual conversations. Keeps this in touch with the working man, regarding the working man's game
Want to see Frank do well. Great passion for the game
The beauty of this show, these are greats and legends but bringing someone outside in, they just fit so well and there's an endless list but it doesn't matter if they come, you know they will but everyone just completes what's already here.
Another fabulous episode! Literally every episode is a 10/10
Such a brilliant dynamic in this group and I love the before/after with the cameras still rolling, look forward to it each week!
You need to try and get shearer and Roy Keane in the same room for this show! Would be absolutely unreal
We all need a mate like Wrighty. Sees the positive in everything and is always pumping everyone else up. Just a bloody good human being...
The chemistry is fantastic between them all.
except jil
Got to say a big thank you for creating this podcast, it's warm friendly informative and the time just shoots by when you watch it. Helps that each person is very likable. Thank you 👍🏻
Love this programme just brings us football fans together. As a Irish man would love Roy for the Ireland Job.
hell no, hes actually the worst manager being linked with us, would rather lennon over him n most definitely carsley prob desserves it
@@colmm5022 100% agree with you. I'm just saying I'm open to the idea. Even though there's better mangers out there for the job.
This is the best intro to any show wow how they all jus njoyed breakfast ,the joy of socializing is beautiful
Can't praise this show enough... Fabulous stuff!! Would be awesome if you guys could get Wayne on there, what a watch that would be... and could make for some great banter too!!
well spoken, humble and an amazing player, his written his name in the history book. well done frank
I’d love Roy to get the Ireland job….for the last few years we’ve been lacking leadership on and off the pitch. Great show as usual
he needs to bring Wrighty with him
He’d be terrible. Anything but Lee Carsley is a fail.
Lampard is so respectful about the game and anyone he’s worked with when he’s talking about it all, always making sure he’s not coming across in the wrong way, what a man
My favourite part of the show is the tea party at the beginning
Good old Frank. Will always be a Chelsea legend.
I was waiting for Keane to ask about Coleman.
In a time of flashy cars etc. for footballers I think Keane sees alot of himself in Seamus. A lot of respect there.
A road trip show of these guys going back to iconic stadiums to recount former glories of pivotal matched played there along with invited players to share stories would make great viewing. Love this current show and format.
Another banger of an episode!! So insightful, love that bit about the managers and their winning percentages.
Always love listening to Lampard. Highly intelligent and very well spoken. Hope he returns to management soon.
Love too, Ian Wright Wright Wright ❤
This Frank Lampard lad is a proper one. People are so quick to hate and throw negativity about but this man. He is a well rounded individual and im convined it will go for him as a coach soon as i am convinced he has great football ideas.
Lampard is a good bloke, wish him well
Legit the best show for football fans. Nothing can top this. And they have a endless amount of legends in the sport that can come as guests
Lampard would be an excellent addition to this pod. Always gives incredible detailed insight to the game
Disagree. Good insight but a boring personality for entertainment
@@tombroadbent204You say that like he wasn't having much banter, he was. Sometimes you want a balance too. Imagine if you had 3 Michah Richards doing punditry
The content of these episodes is at such a high level every time - honest, insightful, balanced as well as entertaining and laugh out loud funny. Not only that but the comment section must be the most positive and fair minded out there on the internet and they come from fans of all the clubs too. From supporters of the clubs the presenters played for and that were major rivals at an intense period in Premier League history as well as those from outside that circle. It's so refreshing to see these ex-players being friendly and balanced and maybe that's what inspires the fair and positive comments also.
G Nev dropping himself from the England team really shows the kind of guy he is
Great guy and a fantastic player is our Frank, i know because i watched him many times score goals and assits against my club. Still think if he finds the right project, he will be a success as a manager. He's definitely still got that hunger to succeed.
What makes you think that? He’s shown nothing to prove he’s a good manager so far unfortunately
Fantastic show and great dynamic between the hosts - show build-up is novel and adds value
