When I was 14 my 12 year old brother a Chelsea fan who was terminally ill with cancer had a wonderful trip to a Chelsea v City game. Chelsea got trounced 3-0 an Aguero hat-trick. After the game we met the players in the tunnel. John was expectional, took great time to talk with my father and brother taking pictures. My brother died 6 weeks later, four days afterwards my family received a hand written letter from John Terry and Chelsea about the experience of meeting my brother and how it impacted him. It was a class act and a superb touch. Myself and my family will always remember John Terry for this and hugely respect him as a man.
That’s lovely mate, sorry for your loss
Yeah, he was and is an absolute legend. According to the melts in the comments, because he called that useless QPR defended a blackcurrant, everything else is null and void.
I remember this. Was your brother called Owen? Not sure it is the right spelling? Ginger hair...irish?
Wouldn't let him near your missus unsupervised though...

Please do everything possible to get Jose Mourinho on the show.

As an Arsenal fan I think Simon is right 100% that John Terry needs to do more interviews etc. as there’s a prospective about him with the Wayne bridge stuff and Anto things out there that let’s be honest I completely disagree with but good to hear a good honest interview there but we need more as for me I’m still not fully convinced about him but time wil tel if only he gets the opportunity too
Guys a prick end of slept with his best mates wife, racially abused anton and also Ledly king in 2006, great player awful human
Wayne Bridge himself never backed this beef and never acknowledged it happened yet everybody keeps holding on to it like Terry personally blew their momma´s back out? and base their opinion over he said she said situations.
Same with the Anton situation if you base you´re opinion so strongly on Terry in that situation arguing cussing each other out. What do you think of what Rio did to Ashley Cole because there is no question he meant that.
My favourite player with my favourite football analyst/ex chairman. JT got me info football when I was younger, which everyone finds surprising for a defender to get you into football, been a Chelsea fan since 02'. Thanks for everything you gave us JT, we need a leader like you now more than ever. Great questions and digs as always Simon, phenomenal interview 💙
Chelsea fan since 02 😆 As plastic as your idol JT. You just missed him slagging off grieving Americans about 9/11 the year before then. Class act is JT.
quite possibly the best interview by far.i have a huge new found respect for john. good luck in the future you will become a top manager.
I can’t get my head around what Simon is trying to get at with the UCL question. Why wouldn’t JT consider himself a winner? He played 8/13 games in the campaign.
Because everyone other than Chelsea supporters thought it was pathetic hence the derision
@@rogerdavies2796 I’ve been supporting United for 30years, and I’ll openly say JT is a bona fide UCL winner, it’s not even in doubt, it’s preposterous to even question it.

I've been dying for this one. Well done, Simon. It didn't disappoint. I wasn't a Chelsea fan but I did love watching Terry play. He was truly brilliant.
I loved JT's COMPLETE DENIAL about player power, who then comes out with the aeroplane story to show you CATEGORICALLY how player power works and the end of AVB b4 he even started. Hahaha.
JT was right though ..... its about principles not power.

@@jasonjones3638it’s a bit different going to Roman telling him to get rid of a manager and telling a new manager hold on a second, I earned my way into first class he hasn’t, that’s probably exactly why so many players today end up shit after a big move or a big deal.
Also the fact Rafa even got through the door kind of proves player power wasn’t a thing or as big of a thing as is made out or as mikel made out on his podcast

Great interview. Was class for Villa!
Simon is absolutely world class at this. By a million miles the best football pundit. I wish he was on more shows. He's not afraid to tackle John and even wind him up a bit here.
Do you remember when Sky has a show called “The Debate”? Simple concept, Dave Jones as presenter and then two football/football adjacent people on, discussing and, you guessed it, debating current talking points of the game. I remember Jordan being on it, before I really knew who he was, and he was fantastic on it. I may not always agree with him, but he doesn’t just throw out silly opinions without any thought going into them and can always back them up. Not sure why they got rid of that show as it was great, but regardless, since Jordan has turned up on TalkSPORT his three hours a day is some of the best sports discussion available.
He’s not a pundit. He’s a talk sport shit stirrer. None of the live football broadcasters would ever hire him cos he’s a gobshite.
Terry looks like he hasn’t aged….might be because he always looked 35yrs old, even at 21.
Yeah, I don’t think it’s much to do with ageing. He always had those jowls.

Simon continues to get great subjects for this show - can totally see why JT doesn't do many interviews tho ;-)
Ironically his insight into the England setup was the most I got from this. It feels like that he's essentially saying the choice of managers and even tournament itineraries were the key reasons for the underachievement and that makes more sense than the mainstream media narrative that the players just didn't like eachother!
I mean the guy had on two sperate occasions the biggest media campaigns on England going at him like he was running for office.
Excellent interview in a spurs fan but always thought JT was an exceptional player, and after listening to the interview it seems he's a decent human aswell, good job Mr Jordan

Fair play for touching on the anton ferdinand situation something I actually forgot about. And I suppose fair play from JT from not shying away from the question..
As a person of colour who played football all over the UK for 30 years but more primarily the north east of England I've been in situations and had to deal with off the cuff words in the heat of the moment. Only twice has my colour ever been Brought Into it factually and the situation was dealt with on the pitch and after as men right or wrongly we shook hands and my thoughts there after were mine.. The older I get the more I just think well there's obviously something missing in that person's life where they feel they need to talk to another human in that way
