So sorry to hear about your loss. Breaks the heart. I could see in your videos how close you and Noodle were and I can understand how much you miss her. A couple of years ago I lost my cat Philli. I felt his life slipping away in my arms after a hit and run by someone who accelerated when he saw Philli crossing the road. I'm glad you had 18 blissful years with Noodle and Noodle had you her entire life. Hugs.

I am so sorry for your loss. I came here like many others for the camera review, but felt some of your sadness and love for Noodle and your animals. I have rescue cats, too and have similar feels. Thanks for sharing.
I love my dog like nothing else, so knowing you managed to even edit that dedicated sequence of your cat must have been tough. Life goes on. Keep going

Boy, that intro really got me. I'm very sorry for your loss, and thanks for the review - all of them. Great job Philip and stay strong. This is, by far, the most comprehensive review of this camera. Everyone else seemed to gloss over the frame rates and the manner in which the selfie stick works or even the bullet time tool. I now realize, I probably didn't need to spend the extra $50 on their stick. :) but oh well.

So glad you included he 360 shot on the train where you spill your coffee. You wouldn’t believe it but this one shot is what makes me want a 360 camera, it just highlights how much more you can capture in the moment. You got the event, your reaction and the reaction of the old man next to you. Great comprehensive review. Love the vlog at the end. Still leaning towards a fusion though
So sorry for your loss. It has made me realize I should be taking many more photos and videos of my constant feline companion, Mitzi. I don't know what I would do without her.

@@philipbloom I will but I will watch this first as I love your reviews, so funny too. 🥰 I started couch to 5k and I’m vlogging it over 9 weeks. I’m in love with the Sony a7s3. It’s really opened my eyes to how to video for me now. I’ll use the 360 in the vlog. I just do it cos i love doing it .Should be Intersting. I’d prefer the new 360 with the screen but can’t afford the upgrade. I feel like a right plank when I hold my stick in the air tho. Haha

Hi Philip, If we all cared for our cats and pets in general like you do, the world would be a far better place - Noodles was a lucky puss. I certainly had a big lump in my throat when listening to you, as it reminded me of my cats too - they are all little characters and do leave a big hole, bless! You have lots of happy memories of Noodles and they will always be there.
A couple things... Turn up your volume when you upload! So many people set their volume low and you can't turn up volume that's set too low, but you can turn down volume set too high.
Also; I feel your loss of Noodle. I had a cat (we have a few, as well as some neighborhood 'adoptees', and always have at least one) that I'd had with me for 22 years! She, too, died in my arms, at the vet, after suffering renal failure and getting a humanitarian shot to stop the pain. Probably set her off humanitarianism at that point... One of my worst days. My heart goes out to you both. Great video. Thanks for taking the time.

Brilliant and funny as usual!!! I actually ordered mine now. I use the One for making HDRis for CH elements that are small with highly reflective objects, which are placed in those awkward places where a dslr doesn’t fit. This has better image despite having less pixels. So I will mainly shoot RAW stills and manually bracket them then stack them to get an HDRi for lighting CG.
Sorry to hear about Noodle. I know it's devastating. I lost my cat earlier this year and she died in my arms. It was more upsetting than I though it could be. She looked so powerless. I'm feeling your pain.

I am so sorry to hear about noodle:(. I have 2 twin cats and they are such great companions and family. I am very interested in the camera as I think the 360 is a niche market but you are starting to see more and more of it.
Funny, everyone moaned about the plastic protective case that came with the original One, but I much preferred that over the little pouch that comes with the X. More protection with the former. If any grit or sand gets into the pouch that’s the lens probably down the river.
You always make me chuckle Philip. Also enjoy seeing clips of some of my old haunts in SW London.

I lost my cat too.
But that's a part of our life and we should handle it and keep going on .
RIP Noodle The One X fits my budget, and the first test shots I've done are quite nice; I am not using it for proper 360, but for HD extraction and reframing shots I can't get otherwise where even a small gimbal is too heavy on a long pole.
Anybody that isn't afraid to post a vid of themselves accidentally pouring coffee on themselves is ok in my book. lol

Came here to watch the Insta review but got emotional hearing about your cat. Although I am watching this almost 1 and a half years later... but am sure you miss your cat. My condolences.
Sorry for the loss of Noodles. It's hard, and we know it first hand after the loss of our Morris over 7 years ago. We now have Luna that we got about a year later and she's one of the most loving cats that we ever had. She always wants my attention and has to fight her sister NeNa our dog to get her time with me. But I try to give them both the equal time. Love them both.
RIP noodle. Gulp. My Insta one X is on order. So stumbled on this excellent review. Really like your casual, no nonsense and I have to say - modest, not cocky attitude. So refreshing! I am currently in the process of attempting the Pennine way hike in stages - so will be using this in a vlogging capacity - be fab to have that 'third person view's perspective of the trail. (Will be using a separate audio capture device!) Great review - I am now even more excited to get this camera! All the best regards Adam 👍

Why no one come up with the idea/invention to add a 3.5 mm mic input jack in the remote control. And when you start record with the remote it sends audio to the camera or save audio in a memory card that are in remote control. And while send files to your phone the audiofiles also are send. Would be super easy to synk pic and audio and also keep track of all files if they are conected to eachother. Just a crazy dream idea...

The stick disappearing act is cool but i have yet to see somebody looking "normal" in a video shot by it... reminds me of a monty python sketch running around with a fist :D

Sorry to hear about Noodle. The camera is pretty good for video as you said and ultimately what the camera is marketed to. What a shame the still picture quality is so poor. Makes me wonder why they would even bother having this feature that produces such poor quality. The chromatic aberration in the lenses on the unit I tested was enormous and overall still photo quality poor. You can spend a lot of time in post removing most of the chromatic aberration but who wants to. Its video is okay and its still photo quality is poor from my experience.
So sad for Noodle, really heartbreaking. But I love moment 9:50 very much

Pets are family. If you don't think so, you don't have one. In the US, the RedCross will now rescue pets as too many people were staying behind as they previously didn't rescue them.
