I like two facts about the game the most: 1) the paradox of achievement when you finish the game as Sasha 2) having player 2 as drinks salesman in the escape pod scene (he is a former salesman, remember?) if you finish the game in coop mode
I always think that Yuri was still partially self conscious. Meat need him to control and spread infection but he have his own goals. I thought he was going to sterilize himself in that yellow tank at top of radio tower.
Sasha held the moon, no doubt at least making it easier for Vadim to get through to Markov's lab and at the meat of the matter (sorry i'll stop) for all the time it took the earth to get invaded, and push all the way back to the teleportation institute. she bloody well earned that drink. also, considering the massive corpse meat piles we climb over, it's likely she made it POSSIBLE to get through to the meat manually in the first place.
I'd love a part 2 with her story. Hopefully like you said, she accomplishes a few big things on the moon that makes it possible for Vadim to kill Iron Meat at the end. That would add a cool "behind the scenes" narrative to the game, things happening that we weren't aware of while playing this first game
honestly i really loved this game and all its levels and this makes me wish for a sequel with this series having so much potential to become something even bigger
well, after we beat the Interdimensional Horror on the Moon, during the escape sequence, there is a ship that was launched to Mars so... I think that will be our core clue for a sequel.
One of the best stories I've seen and the cutscenes that start at the start of a level and end of a level make it worth while! I cannot Wait for Iron Meat 2!
Now THAT'S quite some lore for an already quite amazing game! This helped answer a few questions I had in mind, such as 1 - Was Yuri Markov in control of his actions? Judged from how self-centered he sounded even before infection.... probably? 2 - Why were you dropped down at the end of Stage 4? Turns out it was to take out a big, infected rig this whole time! ... I mean, it was probably a bit obvious, but I (and Vadim if the question marks were any indication) was still a bit confused. Great job on the game, lads!
2 - lab survivors isolated themselves from underground storage because of the infected truck inside. We player arrives situation is too critical. Supply of blue substance are short, and truck becomes too aggressive it nearly can crash whole complex and destroy blue substance storage. So they are sending you down as the most competent soldier to eliminate foe and gain access to resources.
1 - IMHO every other soul, when completely consumed by Meat, becomes nothing but puppet, so I think that Markov as a person had died at the beginning. I simply don't wanna think he was SO comedically evil to willingly join forces of entity that will destroy everything and everyone he ever knew.
1 is a little complicated as such things go... interdimensional horrors have a way of "enlightening" their first few victims. he could have had the best and noblest intentions before meeting the meat. and as we see in the very beginning, after that stuff got him, he was fully infected and probably enthralled, a few scraps of his mind being kept intact to operate the portal wether at that point he thought he was in control, or whether he thought he was doing good, didn't matter anymore.

Thats such a cool backstory, you did a good job since the game by itself can explain most of those things while playing. From my point of view, it looked like Yuri Markov didnt become the Meat Prophet until the Meat devoured him at the top of the skyscraper, like the meat being tired of seeing Yuri Markov failing (stage 2 and 7) decides to do everything by itself, so assimilates him. But anyways, it wasnt Markov either anymore since he "died" when the cell attacked him on the moon lab. I would like to see something even more meaty, sasha being responsible of the moon being cut in half, a mission to mars or even that liquified moon would be awesome to see.
If there is going to be a sequel to IRON MEAT, then there is some things that I would like to see. 1. (Title name ideas) IRON MEAT 2 MARS MASSACRE IRON MEAT 2 RED MENACE IRON MEAT 2 DIMENSIONAL DEVASTATION 2. (4 weapon slots) Being able to upgrade from 2 weapons slots to 4 weapon slots, and being able to have 4 weapons at the same time. 3. (4 players) Being able to play with 4 players, and each player will have their own color, like RED, BLUE, GREEN, AND YELLOW. 4. (Mod Support) If possible, I would like to see mod support so that people can make mods for the game.

Sasha was still here all this time, and now pondering, of course there were others on the moon, but who already booked it? Friend or foe? Maybe Sasha did let someone get lucky and escape first? ...or could it hint to a Iron Meat 2 game as being either another antagonist or an infected Meat Craft later to become a boss? Or could it simply be part of a DLC stage for this game ahead? DLC Stage 1: Moon Act 2 (Sasha's side), and DLC Stage 2: Mars (or several stages across Mars?) DLC Stages 3+: Blood Moon?

It means a lot of problems that require a mecha to solve and a SUPER ARMOR SUIT just in case, I never thought that Iron meat had so much lore despite having played I thought I had seen it all, but better than everything is that MEAT is a cosmic horror entity that gives an investigation to the SCPO.... By the way Dev, give the creator of the menu theme a promotion, because to this day I can't stop listening to it because it inspires fear because of the premise but at the same time it inspires a powerful energy that you are willing to face the horrors. It's... magnificent, not only does each theme level section make it incredibly memorable, but I'll stick with the menu theme.

I have beaten the meat several times, sometimes multiple times a day. Sometimes i even invite my friends and family to watch me do it on high difficulty with only one hand, while they compliment me on my great skill as a gamer.
I really want to see a sequel with another invasion of The Meat coming from Mars. Maybe The Meat has reproduced herself like a starfish and launched its offspring in that first escape pod to another human base located in Mars. Im really enjoying Iron Meat, its amazing! My favourite level is "Base" and my favourite boss the Flying Crocodile MI-24. Also my favourite songs are "Base" and "Meat Prophet Vassal of Iron Meat". By the way, I would add here the theory that during the second meeting with Yuri after his defeat, he could have weakened greatly and meat could lose complete control over it. This can be understood by the emotions experienced by Yuri during the battle with the meat prophet.
It is highly possible that the Meat work as network structure where meat brain cell on moon is a master, Yuri Makrov is second in command, and bosses on Earth are next in the command line. If you kill level boss, the ground soldiers under it lose connection, and as seen in the ending will collapse, if You kill Yuri, then the brain cell will lose control over every boss on Earth, but keep control over Moon. And if You remove brain cell than either every meat infected soldier will collapse or Yuri will become master to control everything.
If the meat and Tyranids encounter each other, I can bet that it would be a biomass extravaganza just instantly. Honestly, why didn't they deploy the Tyranids to clean up the meat?

This game heavily reminds me of A Robot Named Fight. Meat moon attacking the planet to indect technology and consume? Just my luck. ARNF is such a great game, mainly being a rougelike metroid game, but the story is very indepth below the repeat deaths. I hithly suggest it for anyone looking for a fun time piecing together lore and shooting meat!
My suggestion? Put this story explanation into little unlockable files that can be accessed after you finish the game. Basic information is unlocked on easy mode, while teasers and deep lore are explained after beating hard mode.
The iron blood ring thing. Theoretically speaking, if those has mass equivalent of the moon, the Earth won't actually function normally anymore. It's still safe, but there won't be high tide or low tide anymore since those happens because the moon is in spesific position. Sea level will be constant throughout the year
I just have this crazy idea... Eldritch Entities sometimes are unbeatable. But i wonder if an Entity could survive a Cockroach infestation. Could it assimilate the Roach? Or will the Roach assimilate It? ... I have a feeling the Human spirit isn't enough for this argument.
I love this game cause apart from a very FEW particulars about the meat parasite, it’s basically the flood from halo, just FAR less dangerous and intelligent, at least in certain places. I’ve been doing a deep dive on which parasite would win, and after watching this video, I’m surprised to say that it’s actually kinda close in many areas :)
Reminds me of the crimson from terraria an just like the corruption, both kinda lean in the same eldritch territory, but certainly a uh...interesting take on the genre

This has been my favourite game of 2024 so far. I too would love more content. But I am still going to play THIS content a whole bunch more times :D If... a DLC or sequel were to appear. I would certainly find an 'alternate' campaign to be wonderful for replay value. I don't mean different levels, but I really wished there were some more unlockables in this one (not a complaint). So I thought, perhaps you could unlock new weapons, that could only be found and used in a separate campaign, perhaps ones that made combat more difficult and strange :D The even the new game+ would be an unlockable in itself. Perhaps also, a 'second loop' like in Super Castlevania IV. Where you clear one game and it moves right on to stage one again once the ending and credits roll, only this time all the enemy placement is different and it's a bit harder :D Basically I LOVE your game. The artwork is magnificent, the pacing is perfect, the movement control is masterful, and the soundtrack slaps. Thanks guys.
Cool game, but it's plot reminds me a lot of game called Carrion, where you playing as this meat monster who escaped from the lab and are trying to get out of the facility where he was held. So it feels like we are playing as the opposite to that monster, which is humans, who are trying to stop this monster. That is what it looks like and feels like. But anyway, like I said, a cool game.

I can defeat the Meat... Only on Easy and Normal. Hard mode is a nightmare, unfortunately.
Same im literally red when i play with hard because of the angry. Is almost impossidle to kill the meat with it.

The Meat seems so similar with the Beast from Homeworld. Both are reddish organic infection growths that can assimilate biomass and technology.
I just have this crazy idea... Eldritch Entities sometimes are unbeatable. But i wonder if an Entity could survive a Cockroach infestation. Could it assimilate the Roach? Or will the Roach assimilate It?
... I have a feeling the Human spirit isn't enough for this argument.
I love this game cause apart from a very FEW particulars about the meat parasite, it’s basically the flood from halo, just FAR less dangerous and intelligent, at least in certain places. I’ve been doing a deep dive on which parasite would win, and after watching this video, I’m surprised to say that it’s actually kinda close in many areas :)

This has been my favourite game of 2024 so far. I too would love more content. But I am still going to play THIS content a whole bunch more times :D
If... a DLC or sequel were to appear. I would certainly find an 'alternate' campaign to be wonderful for replay value. I don't mean different levels, but I really wished there were some more unlockables in this one (not a complaint). So I thought, perhaps you could unlock new weapons, that could only be found and used in a separate campaign, perhaps ones that made combat more difficult and strange :D The even the new game+ would be an unlockable in itself.
Perhaps also, a 'second loop' like in Super Castlevania IV. Where you clear one game and it moves right on to stage one again once the ending and credits roll, only this time all the enemy placement is different and it's a bit harder :D
Basically I LOVE your game. The artwork is magnificent, the pacing is perfect, the movement control is masterful, and the soundtrack slaps. Thanks guys.

Cool game, but it's plot reminds me a lot of game called Carrion, where you playing as this meat monster who escaped from the lab and are trying to get out of the facility where he was held. So it feels like we are playing as the opposite to that monster, which is humans, who are trying to stop this monster. That is what it looks like and feels like. But anyway, like I said, a cool game.

Somehow the story has influence of nes games like Abadox, Gradius or Salamander (all shmups) where planets get eaten by some cosmic celestial creature.
