    Jimmie Vaughan’s son comes into a Guitar Center in Texas with two bona fide TH-cam guitar stars and GC employee tells them to turn it down. No commentary necessary.

    • @conancoste8840

      I kinda understand the employees,
      Jimmie Vaughan is not that famous, his son is quite unknown unless you are deep into the Vaughan brothers rabbit hole, and Mimi and Pedal Pawn aren't that big on YT, so from the employees' perspective, they're just 3 people that are playing too loud.

    Jimmie is an underrated player. There’s some great footage of the Thunderbirds in the 80s and he’s nailing those Ronnie Earle licks.

    When you guys come home I've got a cool strat you can buy off me. It was once owned by David Gilmore, Eric Clapton once played an E major chord twice on it, Brian May saw it in a shop window, its made from alder that once grew in a forest and maple that also was once a tree. Its painted sonic blue but it was the last Tin of sonic blue paint they had left in the factory that day. Its Rosewood fingerboard was cut from a tree that then went on to become a chess set for the sultan of Brunei. Oh it sounds amazing too. The pickups were hand wired by someone that new someone that new a guy that once new a lady that once brushed passed a guy that once saw Jimi Hendrix. We can talk about it when you get back

    I met Jimmy and Kim when the Fabulous Thunderbirds played the famous Double Door (now, sadly gone) in Charlotte around ‘85, right before ‘Tuff Enuff’ was as released. They played it that night. They were so cool and laid back. Just a couple of super nice regular guys, who brought it when they got onstage. A few months after, that song was everywhere and the guys became virtually household names.

    My father turned me on to SRV around 1991 with "COULDN'T STAND THE WEATHER" and I was quite close to Stevie's crash site after he left his final gig in 1990 when I was eight going on nine years old in Milwaukee; it didn't really hit me until delving deep into guitar and when I saw Jimmie and Stevie playing "PIPELINE" from a dear friend's VHS cassettes and really immersed myself into The Blues, seeing those two Texan Boys showing unlimited love for not only each other, but with guitars made me weep. About twice a year, I get absolutely shit-faced drunk and convince myself to watch the Vaughan Brothers doing their thing. My only Brother is older than I am by around three years and he's a leftie just getting into guitar over the past two years or so; the will and eagerness of sincerity for the sacred instrument makes me feel like Jimmie and Stevie were absolutely onto something that no one else can touch, but can simply observe in its amazingness.

Upon studying it, looks like he doesn't know how to set up a guitar! I'm not the best either, still learning but I can get it to how I like it, at least. Still really happy with the deal ❤ 👌 😎 💥 ✌

      I agree. I have a MIJ Squire Stratocaster from the early 80s.
      I have tried many many many guitars, and nothing feels like MY Stratocaster. Nothing.
      I've had it since 1998 and it was lightly used when I acquired it. The only guitar that comes in 2nd is my MIM Stratocaster from the 90s. They have seen many gigs and playing shows, they have major war wounds, but nothing ever broken. There is a guitar built for someone, and a guitar made today might be "THE" guitar for someone who hasn't even been born yet!

      @@ChrsGuitAgreed. Not everyone has a music store near by or a vehicle. Years ago the closest store was about three gours away, so it was nice not to compete in volume when we were going to buy something vs the friend of employees who was playing ridiculously loud every time we were there.

    Why is he selling those guitars that are family heirlooms? Especially the guitar SRV gave him.

    • @ChrsGuit
      @ChrsGuit ปีที่แล้ว +4

      He still has the other one Stevie gave him. And the family owns STEVIE'S guitars, amps, pedals, outfits, etc... Never hurts to get rid of stuff you just don't need or play anymore... Better to make some cash and send the stuff on to a home that it will see use and appreciation for years to come.
      I have about 23 guitars myself and almost a dozen vintage Fender amps, as well as a couple Marshalls and various practice amps... maybe 30 or so pedals... I'm constantly considering weeding out stuff that I will probably never play, and usually fight with myself on what I should keep or let go... I don't gig or record anymore, and if I can sell stuff that I don't use to buy stuff I will use, then it certainly never makes me feel guilty... I keep the sentimental stuff or the BEST gear for myself... or the stuff that I know I will NEVER find again. I get it
