great videos, I started watching mid-december while waiting for my RP5, then once i got it you released the 10 or so hour marathon of videos, a great companion to the whole setup process. If you're taking suggestions, Ive had really good performance on the Zelda OoT and MM recompiled android ports and they both look gorgeous on the OLED screen. they take a little setup but so, so worth it. I can also recommend some quality GB/GBC/GBA romhacks, like the dozen or so "DX" remasters of GB games, and a whole slew of Pokemon romhacks, I like Red++, Polished Crystal and Seaglass for Gen 1, 2 and 3. Great videos again, keep it up!
A really impressive one is a rom hack of doom for the 32x that turns it into a 3D sonic game I think it’s called sonic robo blast 2 on the 32x it just released
Prince of Persia was like a 2d tomb raider. It was about planning the moves out mathematically and executing them. It's not laggy, it's just playing out your instructions.
Yeah, Prince of Persia looks exactly like I remember it was on my PC! The character animation was so much ahead of it's time. But your fingertips needed to be slightly ahead of the character, so it's not an emulation thing! 😁
Duck tales is easier than what you may think, but it is still quite hard. Try holding the B button while pushing the dpad down in the air. You should have an attack which is quite fun if you do it right.
The true version of Dragon's Lair is the 1983 laserdisc arcade game. All the artwork was drawn by ex Disney artist Don Bluth and played like an interactive cartoon. At the time, it was an amazing looking game. Gameplay was a bit "meh", but you didn't play it for the gameplay, you played it because it just looked so beautiful. In the same year, they released Space Ace. Again, same gameplay and as before, looked so beautiful, like playing a Disney movie. Dragon's Lair II : Time Warp came out 7 years later in 1990. You can play the original laserdisc games on the PC emulator DAPHNE. However, I'm not sure if there's an emulator for Android to play the original laserdisc versions, but several CD based consoles have a port, eg SEGA CD. PlayStation 4 has the whole trilogy in glorious restored HD versions with all three games
Played 1986 SNES Defender of the Crown, then the 2003 PS2 update Robin Hood DotC. Playing 1983 SpyHunter to break 100k. Request chapters / timestamps with labeled games on your videos.😊 Oh! And don't forget 1991 SNES Elite!
Dragon lair arcade was a FMV game, not a platformer 😂 but the snes game looks more fun. I never quite understood the FMV game, it just had big buttons in the arcade but I was also very young.
My goodness, the pain I'm in watching the animation masterpiece, 'Dragons Lair', be totally misrepresented by a platforming version. 😭 Please try the original if you can find a way. It's almost impossible but it's such an amazing part of video game history. There was nothing like it. I think it still stands alone.
In high school someone in my math class had frogger on their ti84. When we put it on a ti89 the increased clock speed made the game run so fast it was unplayable.
Hey Ryan, I recently found your channel and have been really enjoying your videos on the Retroid Pocket 5. Initially, in no small part thanks to your videos, I felt sold on it but after seeing details of the Odin 2 Portal I'm now leaning more towards wanting to get that. It has a larger 7" display, left analog stick on top, extra power for consistent PS2 emulation and even an additional ergonomic grip that can be purchased alongside it. There seems to be a lot to love and I would like to know if you plan to acquire one and do in depth videos for it like you have the Retroid Pocket 5. I think it would be a fantastic resource for those of us like me who want to find out as much as we can about these devices before taking the plunge. Either way, I think you're a brilliant guide and someone who provides a lot of value so thank you and keep going!
Thank you so much for the kind words and yes I'm very happy to say that I have indeed pre-ordered the Odin 2 Portal and will definitely be making tons of daily videos for it just like these ones!
Mario's ankles have gotten a lot stronger since his debut game where couldn't take a fall of more than half his height. The Dragon's Lair in the arcade was one of the first laser disk games with fully animated visuals, by award winning animator Don Bluth. The version you played was very much not that, but it was a decent effort to get a Dragon's lair game on a home console. Personally I'd suggest the Coloecvision/Adam version which really tried to capture the "quick time event" style of the arcade for home gaming despite having far less animation fidelity. Then again over the years the LD version has been condensed down to CD and can probably be found on abandonware sites. Prince of Persia was intentionally slow to respond because the rotoscoped animation demanded pixel perfect response. Those spikes claimed many an adventurer. Ah, you missed the memo about Scrooge McDuck's springy cane!
Thanks for the nice comment! I am using RetroArch to emulate MS-DOS. I think I'm using the DOSBox core in RetroArch but I'll double-check when I'm home. Try the available cores in RetroArch - I'm sure one of them will work :)
Dragon's lair SNES is a plateformer. For the original version you need to use the Daphne emulator, but unfortunately i could not make it work in Android version. All my roms works 100% though... But they runs flaalessly on Batocera.

I'll tell you a fun one, either version of Qbert, the Atari 2600 is good enough, but you have to remember the joystick had to be held in a diamond shape, with the button being on top, or you'll fall off the cubes everytime.
Thank you!!! I've been waiting for this video for a long time!!!!👍👍👍
Thanks for the video... Nice Watchman quote.
Haha I'm glad you recognized it!

Love me some 80s games, and the Gameboy version of Tetris is the definitive way to play it. 🍻🤘🏼🔥
It looks great!

Happy birthday!

Bruh omg you gotta press down while jumping in Duck Tails to jump on the enemies with your cane lol.
Really? Ah, I'm going to have to try this again tonight!
Gotta hold B button in the air to use Scrooge's walking cane to kill enemies. 🍻
I'll try this again tonight!

Wait - can you do that? I've never even tried!

I'm not a Dragon's Lair expert, but I have played the PSP version which should look quite nice on the RP5.
My first "first". Dragon's lair for the snes is a platformer. The real game is more like an interactive movie.
Awesome!

It's quite small for that but yes I definitely can!
sorry, but its gonna be terrible for drawing
I've seen people draw many things on a phone screen with the use of tablets and special stylus attachments. It's not optimal, but it can be done.
Place can you do a vid on how to install run Championship manager 01/02 on android🤞
I'll look into it!
SNES Dragon's Lair is nothing like the original, try the GBC version, original arcade version won't work for you as it is a Video Disc based game.
Oh thanks for the information!
