  • The DJI Osmo Action 4 is a great camera! When following the 180 rule (your recording speed is set at double your frame rate) for your video recordings, I show the value of both a CPL and three ND filter strengths. The particular ND set I used in the video is the TELESIN 4-Pack with a CPL, ND 8, ND 16 and ND32.

    Great video! The slide on factor is definitely a selling point for me. I've looked at other nd filters, and I don't think the quality is all that different.

    Really interesting to hear you talking about Filters last night ….. because I basically don’t know much about them at all.
    I’ll have to watch this video a few times.
    I checked the prices out on DJI website last night here in England …..holy mackerel they are not cheap here. 🙃
    I wonder if they produce one that actually adjusts to 2 or 3 basic lighting conditions, I have No clue …..I’m only kinda used to making videos with an iPhone over the past few years and lots of those videos I’ve deleted.
    I recently got a DJI Action 4 to make some better more interesting videos for my channel, combined it all with some vacations in France,Spain and America also.
    Used to live in WV for 8 years.
    Have a great day buddy, thanks for the video 👍

      Yanks and Brits Production thanks for your kind words. ND Filters are never cheap. The Telesin are on the lower end with a cost on Amazon of $36.99 US. I am not aware of any variable ND filters (that will allow you to adjust one filter to accomplish multiple stops) but if it exists that would be even more expensive. Enjoy the Action 4, it a great camera. Stay well mate.

      I just checked online …..$70 for a 3 pack here in England.
      I’ll get some because obviously if I don’t use them I’ll screw up my filming.

    Like to see this test without using the lens hood cover to remove that extra layer of glass… are the open lens attachment that comes with the Action 4

    • @markexploringnewstuff
      @markexploringnewstuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Other model of ND filters are available that require the lens hood cover be removed to fit on, I went with the over- hood type for convenience. I was concerned about impact that repeated removal of Action hood may have on waterproofing.
      Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Be well.

    I think in case of off-road racing this type of filters will drop after the several jumps

    • @markexploringnewstuff
      @markexploringnewstuff  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes I agree OscarDelta013, the screw on filters are must “safer” for off-road racing. When using them you must b aware to maintain water tightness. Thanks for commenting and watching. Stay well,

    Do you have any idea what should i put a range for my ISO with nd filter? I am using it for motovlogging. Thank you so much!

    • @markexploringnewstuff
      @markexploringnewstuff  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I have my ISO set for the range 100-6400 regardless of using or not using ND filters. I find the Action does ok with higher ISO values. Using an ND (if you have fixed the shutter speed) will force the ISO to go down. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay well,

    I have the customized preset C settings, what happens if i use the nd filters? Thx!😊

    • @markexploringnewstuff
      @markexploringnewstuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That depends, assuming your customized C setting fixes a speed, given the fixed aperture of the Action 4 - your ISO will do down. The need for NDs is created when the ISO goes to its lowest setting possible, if you don’t change speed (increase it) the video with be all blown out. The ND’s help reduce the ISO. Your custom setting wont change - but they may be over-exposed. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!

    No. Filter nd is not good idea. Inform people about consequence with lack of good stabilisation as it can be just waste of money after this recommendation

    • @markexploringnewstuff
      @markexploringnewstuff  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Using an ND depends on the situation. Sometimes having the cinematic motion blue is not what the situation calls for and a lower shutter speed is not preferred, in those cases go without the ND and let the shutter speed climb. ND are just another tool available in the photographers tool kit.

      @@markexploringnewstuffso when ARE thise filters needed? I don t think u shoot interviews with the action cam so..?

    • @markexploringnewstuff
      @markexploringnewstuff  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      ND are often required on bright sunny days or to enhance colors. The only alternative is to really increase your recording speed and see it that helps.
      ND’s are like sunglasses you use them, squint or just look away. Be well,

    • @nerucheung

      NDs are fine when you have enough light and do casual vlogging on foot, but would recommend removing the ND and use higher shutter speed when doing fast action
