The V6 block is exactly the same as the V8 block. They just rake 2 pistons and con rods out, block off the rear cylinders, put shorter heads on, add a counterbalance to the crank and off you go!
I purchased a used 2015 F-Type S about four years ago. The original owner took the big depreciation. While the F-Type has had a few minor issues, it's a great car to drive and you can't beat the design aspects of the vehicle.
High mileage examples are pretty low in price. Nicer examples are holding their money pretty well after the covid spike. If you find one you like, just buy it, these things are awesome, and life is way too short!
We just purchased in Victoria , British Columbia, a 2016 F-Type Base convertible with 21,300 kms on it for a very attractive price. As we live in a mountain community the Jag has been put in hibernation for the winter. We have only drove it home and did have an opportunity to stretch its legs on an US Interstate. The car exceeded all of our expectations. I have viewed you various videos. Thank you for reaffirming our purchase.
I picked up a V8S just at the beginning of Covid, we are already seeing a price jump here in Canada. Mine is a 2015, so many people look at it and smile, for now being a 8 year old car!
Bought my British Design Edition S a month ago and have been astonished by the reactions of people. Approached by several people in petrol stations wanting to tell me how beautiful the car is...pedestrians and car passengers pointing at it to alert their friends. One bloke shouting 'That's bloody beautiful' at me as I passed! Just confirms what I thought the moment I set eyes on it...one of the most stunning car designs ever. The thing that's surprised me the most though ( I expected the performance) is how comfortable it is riding on 20 inch rims. Big test coming up with a two and a half week tour of the south of France, Switzerland (going over St. Gotthard) and Belgium but I have no doubts the car will prove itself a superb GT.
I just took delivery of a 2016 3.0 S manual coupe, 30,000 miles on it. Triple black, 20s, big brakes, all options save CC brakes. At 76 this will be the last car of this type for me but she's a beauty and other people seem to like it. I've even gotten thumbs up from pickup truck drivers and women want to go for rides. If I were a young man and had something on the ball....
There a lots of great deals to be had with the Jaguar F-Type in the US market. Worth going all out too with lots of sub 20k miles enabling the purchase of a $110k plus new car for half the price. Lots of videos showing the market has bottomed out too. It is extremally well engineered and is already classic design.
Paid £52000 in 2019 for my 2017 5.0 R AWD. With 17,000 miles & still in warantee. Pearl white Cabriolet spec at £104000. Love it. Cannot find another with this spec & mileage in the UK. Present mileage 20,460. Nearest was £53000. So no i do not think the prices are low. Quite the contrary. Possibly for sale soon as I just do not use it. After owning M3, GTR 33 vspec & 911 carrera 2 it is streets ahead in the way of sound & quality.
ive just traded an R to the SVR - 9000miles for £62K - half price - one thing i noticed is that the SVR's exhaust doesn't sound as deep as the R - in saying that the cabin is nicer, its def sharper handling .. etc
Well done video. After watching your video and other research, I moved away from buying a 2019 C7 Vette and purchased a used 2019 F-Type P380 AWD R Dynamic with only 24K. The car has every option available and I am fortunate to get a 3 year additional CPO warranty in Canada. Approx. 50% of the sticker price. What a great deal. I do believe that the depreciation curve has flattened but as you said "no one had a crystal ball".
I'm at that Crossroad Myself. The P380 has enough Power, the same beautiful Styling, and it's not so LOUD as the V8. Found a 2020 R AWD with 31K for 28K € but I also want an 2017-19 GS Vet but they cost 62K €. Basically the same as MSRP here in Germany. I believe the Vet is more bang for the buck and the maintainence costs aren't so expensive. Good luck. At least you've gotten a warranty so at least you have a chance to enjoy it without worrying about maintainence costs. The key is to do the Services in half the recommended time. This P380 was only serviced by Jag every which is also a plus point. I just am not a fan of the NOISE and it has to be an convertible. GOOD LUCK.
I nanaged to get 38 MPG out of my V8R AWD convertible which included some motorway and A road driving and that was with the wife's 'weekend away bag'in (might as well tow a trailer)
Great video. I have owned an Eiger grey P450 with most of the options for just under 6 months now and absolutely love it. Not quite the soundtrack as yours due to the petrol particulate filters now fitted, but it will growl when pushed. Off to Spain in it in a couple of weeks and looking forward to the open road for the first time. Keep up the great content and your enthusiasm for a beautiful car.
How are they under 30k in UK? Unfortunately in Germany, reasonable V6 seem to start at 40k and V8 is not affordable for me, starting at 50k minimum. I guess i will save up for a V6 by the end of 2024. It´s not even that they are rare. I guess they have been quite successful in Germany.
Great video. I was having my WRX serviced today and it was next to the Jaguar dealer. I've loved them since the early E-Types in the '60s. I might just break down in retirement and blow my load on one. Not 100% metaphorically.
I’m hoping to pick up a lower mileage 2017 or 2018 R convertible this winter for under $50k. I think with economy fears, interest rates being high, and the normal sports car dips because of winter, they could go as low as $45k
Sytner have recently bought the last 500 F-Type 75 special additions and I have ordered a Pre Reg 75 450 AWD at a huge discount from new (25 miles on the clock). Cant wait...
I've had my White Convertible P380 AWD 2018 oct registered. 7k mileage since 1st Feb....Love it. Paid premium due mint condition, low mileage upgraded seats, steering wheel. £47k.
I’m test driving one tomorrow. Yes looks and sound. I have a BMW 435d which is very quick but I want that V engine noise and this is the best out there for a car at this price 👌
I'd love to buy a i4 or v6. But in Germany there aren't many Garages, which would work on it in an adequately way. I feel like, you can own "mildly" exotic cars in Britain but not here. 😢
Yes they are pretty comfortable for us taller drivers. I don't own one but I did a long road trip to Cornwall in one and it was really good. Much much much better than my NC MX5 but hey most things are
I’m torn, on the v6s or the v8S or early R I can get them at the same price but with 20-30k more miles on them. I could tune the v6s then that would void the after market warranty I’m trying to get.
The problem is the rarity and the demand may raise the prices overnight I’m always watching the market to try and time it. 😅this car will be a classic just like the r32 I looked at one was 6k 2 years later now 12k only had 30k mileage. Happens quick
@MrGB What did you pay for this car, if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking at a similarly spec'd low mileage 2018 AWD R Coupé in mint condition. Asking price is £62.250. Even the cheapest F-Type R's here in Sweden are £50k+ and SVR's are £70k+. I've driven a few and V8 is a must 🙂
I had a girl tell me “my type is your f type. Let’s go back to my place baby”. I later got married, divorced, and lost half of my net worth. Expensive car
Picking up my F-Type R 2016 convertible RWD with 16.500km on Saturday 🎉 Broke my bank account but I Don’t Care! 😅 Can’t wait for Saturday to come soon 😎
Do you know why my Jaguar f type v6 is having excessive smoke coming out tail pipe and water down coolant , just took it into dealship and they said I got no coolant leaks and the car is fine but I changed the oil and it looked like mud.. am I stuck paying 600$ for a failed diagnostic and a broken Jaguar? (67,000 miles) I am part of the youth second hand jaguars and it’s been quite a journey I shall say.. I’ve had it for 8 months and drove it for only 3 because so much time in shop.. what should I do I think it’s head gasket but they’re telling me the test are good .. ugh.
I've also been thinking about whether the prices of these would fall or increase. My personal opinion is i think they'll increase in value. I've got an XF and i just love how jaguars look. I think i may upgrade to an F type in the next few years if the price remains around what it is now :)
I’m not selling 😂V8 AWD R 2017 convertible not a chance I’m selling And new headlights make them look like a Audi sad they changed them They were what made it look like a oldskool jag I recommend getting a Jaguar dealer warranty it’s worked out well for me so far Needed a cat replacement they swap it out no issues Warranty was cheaper than just that one issue I’ve had 12:55 😂😂😂love it absolutely shat it great content 😂

Haha! It absolutely is!
High mileage examples are pretty low in price. Nicer examples are holding their money pretty well after the covid spike. If you find one you like, just buy it, these things are awesome, and life is way too short!

Agree with other comments, they are far from low. Pre COVID you could pick up a V8S for £22k, the cheapest on Autotrader now is £27k
I'm seriously considering buying an F-Type at the moment, and this video is just what I needed to see. Brilliant, thank you.

Yeah, you can already tell that it could be a classic because i don´t see the design aging, even after 10 years it looks perfectly fresh. Timeless.

@@tmwsalvage Can you please elaborate? Lacking performance? comfort? sound?
It wasn’t as quick as my BMW and the sound wasn’t there that I expected. Looks amazing but I was just not blown away.
@@tmwsalvage ok, thanks :)
This video should help raise their values, from experience I thought exactly the same about the xkr which went up in value after I sold it.
Thanks. I am looking at selling my '66 right hand drive E-Type FHC and buying an R. Your videos have me sold. Cheers
Ha ha! Lovin’ the out-take: just a not-so-gentle reminder that the car’s the star!
😆 it scared the hell out of me, as was clear from my reaction 🤣🤣
Funny you say....I'm buying one soon and keeping the Prius too. lol
Thank you, love your videos. Keep it up! I have been debating buying an F-Type versus a 07-09 XKR.
Well said sir. Great video, good points and amazing vehicle.

jaguar f type 2023 ไหม😮😮😮
Whats your thoughts.... Fixed wing or active? I see yours has the fixed, was that a reasoned choice?
Hi, had a question regarding the f type does it feel comfortable if you are taller? 1.88 meters leg room?
Yes they are pretty comfortable for us taller drivers. I don't own one but I did a long road trip to Cornwall in one and it was really good. Much much much better than my NC MX5 but hey most things are

great looking cars for sure!

I have literally got one today! 2014. 60k miles, the 3L coupe lovely condition, FJSH 23,750. Spent all day hooning it and absolutely in love.
Congrats!
Congrats on the new car! Glad that you love it!
Hey man I enjoy your content would be great to meet up once I get mine. Still trying to decide when the best time to get one is 🤔
Great video, very informative and keep enjoying.
What year is this? Super nice!
2018. Thanks for the support
They're not low though lol. Give it a couple of years and they should be lower. Used prices are still crazy high on most cars

They are beautiful and unique, especially in V8 form…but how on earth do you manage over 40mpg, as I can’t get out of the 20s?😮
Haha! 65mph in lane 1, doing nothing exciting! Not at all what the car is designed for!
I'm definitely after a 3.0 v6 got about 30k budget. So if you see one let me know
Can’t decide between this or a newer mustang please help
Still worth a small fortune in Australia unfortunately

I’ve heard that excessive white smoke is indicative of buildup on the injectors. Have your issue been fixed?
Hey do you know if the 18’ auto 400 edition has the exhaust tone that’s not muted?
If it's 2018 it likely will have the muted tone. Do you know if you ahve an OPF?
