I can't wait to get an ESS. I don't shoot competition apart whoever misses, has to by the beer that night. But I'm getting ready to do what I call a "field deployable bench gun" build in 30-06. I've done a lot of research and have decided on the ESS. If it's half as good as I think will be, I'm going to have an awesome rifle.
Just ordered the ACC last night along with a mag, break and adjustable grip. Cant wait for everything to come in. When I did the customer review at the end of the purchase I kind of name dropped you. Say " I found this product from watching all of one of your sponsored shooters Pieter Malan." Keep up the great videos man. Cant wait to see the builds this coming year. You need to get up here to Alaska next Moose season. The mosquitoes aren't as bad as..... ok they suck haha
I bought a Savage Model 10 BA Stealth it says Savage on the chassis but it looked so familiar. I dropped the rifle down and it MDT on the inside. I found out it is an LSS and i Love it! It is such a stable and sturdy platform. I wish it came with a better but stock. But I Love my MDT! Great video!!!
I have the MDT PRS on my Tikka T3 .300WM. Only thing i am going to change is the butt plate... Hard ridged plastic does not fair well on the shoulder after shooting a match...
30 lbs!!!!! I thought I was crazy for having a 11lb 6.5 Grendel AR lol. Your right though for target work the heavier the better, look at the guys with 30 + lb 6br bench guns.
I got a Diamondback tactical 6-24 MRAD for a build, that I can't shoot now... Going to have to pick up a bolt gun so I can actually get it out to the range.
Id probably wouldn’t be able to make a review this well myself but I could type well enough to say this guy is somewhere between American Sniper & Mr Rogers.
Hey Piet, you were the subject of a TH-cam survey so they can improve...whatever. I ticked off positive things in case they're trying blindside you. Google is not at all firearms friendly. A Canadian gun club's emails routinely end up in spam. Cheers.
What do you think about the 300 PRC please I would really love to know?? And appreciate an answer I know you’re really busy but I watch you every single time you upload a video I’m going to buy a 300 PRC I just wanted to know what you thought about it
I know this is a 2 year old video, I had a question on the MDT LSS. I believe you built your for 22cal. I have never built a rifle and only just recently bought my first long range rifle. Would you be able to use the LSS frame to built a 17HMR varmint rifle?
Will the last chassis that you showed, would MDT be able to make a modified chassis for me for my rifle? I run a .300 Remington Ultra Mag, for 1-2 mile local matches and in need of a new chassis. Pretty much 338 Lapua length with a 7rd box mag
What are your thoughts on the XRS? I have the LSS Gen 2 and love it. I’m mostly shooting paper and want it to be able to shoot comp if it arises but also field when it happens too. LSS is 6.5 CM and want to add a 6BR to my collection
Hey Piet! What height do you have on your scope rings? I just ordered a MDT ESS with carbon fiber fore end and a 20moa picatinny scope rail. But the low one, not the higher scope rail. (Because I want the picatinny to line up with the fore end). So now I wonder what height I might be looking at to buy for the scope to run clean all along the fore end since it will be sloping on the 20moa picatinny. I'm going with a Vortex PST Gen 2 5-25x50, and thinking of buying Spuhr unimount. I thought you might have had the same issue on yours. Unless you run the higher picatinny. That solves the problem. That's for all the vids!
Howdy, its in the safe at the moment. But pretty sure Im running high rings on the ESS (low mount) with the AMG which is the same as the pst2 in terms of size. Hope that helps :)
@@IMPACTSHOOTING Thanks! I just realized that you might not have a 20moa/mil picatinny on yours either. If it is a 0moa/mil picatinny (and 0moa/mil scope rings) the scope would be straight aligned with the rifle and thus would not slope towards the forend. That's also an option, but not for me with the parts that I already bought. I suppose I'll have to put it all together and bring it to the store and try different scope mount heights and see what fits the best. It would be a lot easier to determine if the picatinny was 0moa/mil =) Thanks for the response! Btw, your MDT ESS with stainless barrel and carbon fiber forend and what not is the most beautiful rifle I've ever seen. I'm actually building mine like that one. ;)
Not trying to insult anyone, but after watching the entire video, the only thing I now know about the LSS, ESS, and ACC are that they each have a different weight. That's it. Nothing else. That would mean that each one has the same (identical) adjustments available, which is probably not true. No idea how much weight can be removed from the ACC, or if weight can be added to the LSS OR ESS. No idea if any of the 3 offer more or different attachment points for accessories. Not even sure what kind of hunting you were doing other than you did a varmint hunt with one. Was that ground hogs at 150 yds, Jack rabits at 300 yds, or prairie dogs at 600? This video could have had a lot more useful information in it.
From this video I get the feeling that theres s few things that you dont like about the lss g2. I was wanting to know the reason for this I know your sponsored so I dont want to get you in trouble but interested?
One day when I am older and my wife has forgiven me for all the stuff I already bought.... Heavy rifle, no problem, you go hunting with Fred, the guy that carries a kudu on his own....

I bought the LSS Gen2, skeleton carbine stock, folding stock adapter very happy with everything
I think i go with Bergara HMR Pro, LSS Gen 2, Skeleton Carbine Stock, Viper PST Gen 2 and maybe a Atlas Bipod
You're toying with me. I'm really looking forward to hearing your opinion on these

Almost done squirreling away enough for a Diamondback, LSS, and a Rem 700. As you say, hold thumbs.

Love your LSS XL build
Good break down on the 3 stocks thanks
But is margo more stable on a barricade? And who would rather carry in the field?

the TAC21 GEN2 CHASSIS, is the best one they make

especially on the ESS: what barrel length do you have and which handguardlength did you choose?

Thanks a mill Doug! That’s awesome feedback, hopefully more people give the channel a solid review 👍🏼
Looking at getting one for my Ruger American AR since it’s about the only option for the AR series. 915$ is a pretty penny for a full chassy.
Purchased a Thunder Beast Bipod. LOVE that pod!
So LSS or XRS for hunting
Good review mate, good to see your sponsored by mdt that must be sick
Loving these videos Piet, and yes Margo is so LEKKER ne.
I hope you do a review on the HS3 chassis system, now that you are sponsored by MDT now
Hey Piet, mooi video. What would you suggest as "YOUR" ideal bolt action rifle for the LSS for hunting as primary and long distance shooting as extra?
Pete what barrelled actions do you use in your MDT chassis’s
i am going with margot
I see what you did there at the end ;) Good vid, looking forward to the next few
What one has the folding but stock

Its awesome! Im building a 30SM, uses a 300PRC as a case to fireform up to something even wilder!
Your the man how's that for a comment

LSS would be awesome on a 17HMR!!!
Would love to see you review the Gen 2 TAC21
What about us left-handed shooters?
Awesome, hopefully in the next few months ill grab a mini action one from you :)
Great video pete
So where does the oryx fit in this lineup.
Is there a huge difference in recoil between the LSS and ESS with the Howa heavy BA 6.5cr? What’s the biggest caliber you’ve used in the LSS?
Are you going to build a light weight precision hunting rifle?
Do these chassis come in Long Action????
What manufacturer makes that folding stock part?
What barrel contour do you have on the ESS chassis rifle?

Are there precision rifle build kits to skip swapping out the stock?

Jis Piet like jou video's- my vraag die MDT LCC gen2 sal hy werk op n 30-06 T3X? Groete,
What shooting bag is that next to the db tactical ?? Thank you
Hi, how come MDT don’t make the ACC in a left hand format? What’s your thoughts on it, would love to hear
They make a SA LH for the Rem 700 inlet.
What size arca is on your LSS?
A quand vos vidéos en tradition française merci cordialement
tell us more about the arca swiss mounts for you bipods
What adapter are you using to put your atlas on to your arca rail? Great video, worth the wait!
Henderson Precision 👍🏼
@@IMPACTSHOOTING Thanks! Never would have found them otherwise 👍
What arca swiss adapters do you run?
What bipod do you run ?

Not at all, I just love the other ones more than the lss g2, absolutely nothing wrong with the LSS versions of the MDT stocks.
@@IMPACTSHOOTING do you see better acuacy with the ESS? What are some things you like better bout the ESS
@@MrBajaranger I like the price better!

Damn a 30lb rifle.
No one tells how much their was weights
30lbs rifle, and I thought my AI was bad at 18lbs, lol
How much you sell that folding stock for?😂😂
Hallo Pieter. Waar kan ons die pryse kry van die mdt modelle? Piet@pietottosafaris.com
Margo vs charlise. Lol.
The LSS is very unstable...
Please just choose an accent lol whats with the bad American accent?? 🤣🤣😂😂
Hallo Piet. Ek is totaal stupid en oningelig oor hierdie MDT platvorms. Maak hulle dit ook vir 'n CZ55 ... 6.5x55 ? Dankie en Groete. Gustav Bester.
