Well it kind of looks terrible but awesome in the same time. It has that old school over busy race looks. The problem when a car looks like that is that you look like an ass getting out of it if you are no longer in your 20's something.
The front looks sexy asf, but the opposite can be said to its ass imo. The performance according to reviews surpasses its predecessors though, like 100bhp.
I've always loved the Type R, n I think this one is the most insane one ever, amazing aggressive looks, amazing power, grip. I'm loving this shade of blue. I wish I could afford the payments on one of these.
great review its funny I watched this a few time and I own one as in my profile picture, it is a great car to drive and easily livable as a every day car, every journey is fun and its lovely feeling so rare since I have owned mine I think I have seen two so far out and about on the road, I think these will definitely be very collectable in the future,
Totally agree...Mine's a keeper. I live 5 mins walk from work, so don't need a car.....But, I get a long weekend off every 4 weeks...Can't wait for the track to reopen after lockdown.
Iv just gone and bought a 2008 Honda Civic because i genuinely fell in love with it the moment i sat in it. And now i am definitely saving up for one of these beauties in red and black.
they just have to make it hard don't they...now this car is becoming a lot more appealing than the subaru sti as of now. ok it's FWD and styling is personal preference but running costs are better, the interior is nicer and the price is sweet for almost the same amount of horses! can't wait for the comparison review!
+paliccolo So happy that people are liking the review! A lot of work goes into these videos, especially this one. The comparison is coming soon with filming set to start tomorrow.
+paliccolo They definitely stepped up their game on the interior, but the 2015+ Sti has nice interiors too. And I think the exterior of the STi is still better. I'll admit i'm biased since I own the 2015 sti. The civic is starting to look better again.
+Cinnamononomon The STI interior is terrible by European standards... Sorry, but I had it for a week and whilst it felt durable it felt a bit too cheap in places.
GOD i wish U.S. car reviews where this good, you guys talk about the car in the U.S. they try and sell you the car, that's goes with the reviews as well. good video!
I got mine 3 weeks ago in Milano Red and done about 150 miles since but already damaged 3 of it's wheels😜 but God it's som much fun special when I'm in a bad mode😡 what I do is press +R bottom and I'm off to flying... I have been asked lots of time by people who I met at the red traffic saying can I take a picture of it and etc.. This car is like asking every single car on the road “do you wana race?😠 And asking the people who walks on the footpath “hey look at me😜😋😋 Love it👍👍👍😘😘
+Y1A2K3I4N5UK We had that all week. People asking about it, pictures, shouts of "nice car mate." I had one guy follow me and park on yellow lines to ask if he could have a look around it.
A great video review, the best one I've seen so far. Having previously owned two EP3 CTR's and an S2000 roadster I'm very tempted to buy one, the snag is, I'm getting on in years and retired so I probably wouldn't be able to drive it as well as the previous models.
+GE TA Glad you enjoyed the video! This Civic is more refined than any Type R that has gone before it. I'm sure you would still enjoy its performance but also its extra comfort.
+Adam S (Dolby109) Ehh, their diesel just got into Guiness World record as the best mpg (and still has 300nm and 120 hp). And the civic tourer is the best family estate on the market. But if you where referring to sports car, I think that the NSX will be a quite good car, don´t you think? So I don´t know what you where referring to...?
onathanj Yes the NSX was good, as well as the S2000...but the NSX stopped production...12? years ago, and the S2000 has also been gone a while. Honda has been decidedly boring for the last 5 years. Hopefully this will help them get out of their rut.
Adam S Okay, I disagree, from a practical and every day driving pleasure and fun, the Civic gen 9 is far better than any competitor. But as you see it, in terms of a TRUE sport car, perhaps Honda has not produced anything in a long time, until now.
Flyswatter SI The CRZ (successor to the CRX) was a huge let down. Its heavy for a small 2 seater, not very fast, not very fuel efficient (for a hybrid) and doesn't even handle that great. So basically its got all the drawbacks of every genre it tries to be a part of, and almost none of the advantages.
Recognised the car and location when I saw the thumbnail - I cycled past you guys when you were shooting the static stuff. Was the first Type R I'd seen on the road - paint looked fantastic. You boys local to the forest then? Some good driving roads :)
+Craig Stovold Wow, what a coincidence! Yeah we are based locally and often do the static work on the cars there. Nice scenery that changes with the seasons.
Small world eh? Was tempted to stop and have a chat about the car bit my legs wanted to keep going. I've now subscribed, keep up the good work and maybe see you around!
when talking about the car's voice you have to remember the car is stock ....stop asking for everything at once ,when you ask for everything at once you get looks.... like what you are looking at now if you like to mod cars you don't mind the lack of sound
+SS K IIt's like everyone knows Honda is capable of making a real amazing hard core sport racer but they NEVER do it!!! I want like an s2000 remake coupe with boost. 300-350 whp under 2800lbs. GAME OVER!!!
Wait til the focus RS arrive. The CTR is more of the same. That 4 pot turbo maybe hot stuff but in all honesty.. all that power to the front wheels is not all that interesting. The baby NSX rumored might be the next best thing though!
i've got a 2007 civic at the moment. I'm going to try to save up for this over the next few years. maybe the 2020 version? How much do you think I'd need? Like $35k?
Why do they always say it's not very grown up looking when it comes to a spoiler on a car!! So a Lamborghini is not very grown up..no it's a sports car..best looking Ferrari is the F40 not very grown up looking but it's awesome!! Just don't get it!!!
+Jeremy Brown It's only envious people who says a car is not grown up because of a spoiler or bulging wheel arches. Some say it about the Aventador, but I tell you it takes grown up money to buy one for sure.
This sounds much like my Mazdaspeed 3 (13' 2nd gen) it is a 2.3L turbo FWD makes 263 HL with 280 lbs/trq. It does o-60 in 5.8 seconds. And the boost kicks in about 3000rpm and boost fade at about 5300-5500 rpm. (don't red line, your only hurting your self). and it handles fairly well with its 18" tires. But the Speed 3 does have torque steer. Bitni don't mind it at all.
exactly my thoughts looks like a ready to take it up the ass rear stance with a big spoiler to try and distract you from it... makes me sad all these badass 4 cylinders have this rear look including the focus rs which is a shame since it gets 0-60 in under 5 seconds..
Great review, and the car looks great in blue! Have you heard anything about when the Civic Type R might be hitting American shores? And if the version we (hopefully) get will have a similar power output?
+Steven Haffner Thanks! This Type R you see in the video will not be coming to America I'm afraid... However, the next generation Civic is coming soon (with a Type R model) and just like the Ford Focus RS it will be a global model meaning that everyone will get it.
Oh my, what a buzzkill, regarding the Tye R you guys have over there, not coming to the USA. But it's nice to know that we will be getting a Type R model here. I'm curious; in the car that you drive in the video, what kind of audio system came in it? How many speakers and what was the wattage? Did it have any special enhancements like a rear subwoofer or anything? Usually, here in the States, part of the enjoyment of really hot rides, includes having a booming audio system to go with it.
+Steven Haffner I have just put a call into Honda and they will get back to me today about the exact differences. What I do know is that the GT model (the one in the video is standard) does have a premium audio system. I will let you know in full when Honda give me a call back.
Thank you sir! I am not surprised that the car would come with a premium audio system. Color this car enthusiast in New York green with envy.....and kudos to you for being able to drive a stick with the LEFT hand!! lol
I think what I'm most excited about with the Civic Type R and the Focus RS is how it'll affect the rest of the segment. Will it push, for example, Volkswagen to begin importing the Scirrocco? How much will it push Subies STI design team? I'm so excited to see what the Type R and RS being imported will end up leading to
actually if you watched the review he said with a down payment of $3,000, the car payment is $300 a month so just about anyone with a job can afford teenager or adult
+EK9GraphicDesign Not this Type R. You will be getting the car that follows this one. There is so much confusion because Honda made 2 announcements at the same time. I think I'm going to put together a video next week to clear things up. Already spoke with Honda's PR team just to collect all of the facts.
+EK9GraphicDesign Ok. If that is what you guys would like I'd be happy to set the time aside to do it. *prepares for huge arguments in the comments of that video*
Inside Lane Yeah, I stand corrected. The US is getting the 2017 Type R. Good thing too, because this one does look a tad bit like a Prius with a spoiler and different frontend. I just hope the 2017 Type R looks like the concepts we've seen so far.
+Inside Lane you should make a comparison video between this car and other platform cars - AWD evo x for example, heck even RWD with the 370z. I don't think anyone has ever done it yet.
+yhakult We have shot a Type R VS WRX STI video which will compare the two cars and ultimately ask the question "which car should you buy." I wanted to get that out last week but due to the Frankfurt motor show and our trip to the Rolls Royce factory we ran out of time. I'll try and get it edited together for this week.
306 and 5.7? that's kinda disappointing... Due to popular Honda Fan boy demand, what I meant to say was 306 and 5.7!!!???!?! holy fuck that is blazing quick for a TRACK car, WOOOOW much speed, can you comprehend this car is for the track?! HOLY SUPER QUICK.
+Sofa King 306hp @ 6500rpm. Means it needs time to kick in the full 306hp. If you want a drag car, then i don't think you should be looking at this car lol. Civic has always been for track.
Sofa King bro, evo is awd lol , of course it puts all the power on the ground when launching haha. Comparing a evo to a civic on drag?? that was smart.
Jacky L. LOL OHHH I get what you're saying. So at a red light if a car beefs me and I have the type R. I be like BRO Let's meet at the track, BRO Let's go to the track right now!
Pushes like hell? A 5,7s from a 0 to 62mph is not that amazing if you ask me, considering this car has 306 freakin horses. A Lancia Delta Integrale Evo could do exactly 5,7s from 0 to 62mph and it only had 210hp. Its rather slow and unimpressive in my opinion. And btw its also ugly as hell. LOL
+Joe M Not in Europe it doesn't. Remeber that we time 62MPH here and measure in BHP. The car can go a bit quicker than its claimed times, all cars can, but obviously we can only really compare the official figures.
+nico5179 Don't forget Mitsi EVOs and such are 4WD, Civic is FWD. We ll get better understanding of Civic's acceleration if we look at 80-120 km/h time.
Bledi Krasniqi More like just wildly swing the tail end out.... For about 10 feet, and then you just spin out. You can't sustain it, and you can't control it. Useless for that...
This car comes with : a wide body ,sits low,has a sport interior ,comes with a good engine , quad exhaust since double isn't enough nowadays , brembo brakes( awesome brakes) , sporty wheels , sporty tires , it looks really nice and most of the people think it's "a car straight out of hotwheels" " a funny looking car" , yeah , there are a lot of kinda useless cosmetics on this car. The thing is ..this car is like the cars people pay to have , you don't have to pay a shit ton of money to have a good looking car like this one , you can buy this one.
Hi I like the way you said it..it's £300 a month, £3,000 deposit..the car it £30,000...most people with full time job can afford it..?? yeah I agreed with you blue colour does look better on this car, that just me like blue too, that was best reviews you did, very detail. I love type R..I own the old type R from.07 to 12...nothing never gone wrong till the end.....
Based off of the 3040lbs of curb weight, being front wheel drive and having short gears due to a 6 speed manual transmission, I am expecting to see it do no less than 13.8 in the quarter mile. I am comparing it to the 2004 sti which weighed in at 3150lbs, and also had a 6 speed yet was AWD. That STI did no les than 13.5 to 13.6 (I had one) so since the Civic is not AWD it wont have a good launch so it is still overshadowed by a better car in the form of an sti and outclassed by the Lancer Evo 9.
+Francisco Cruz But those cars aren't really what it is competing against. It is a hot hatchback. The STI is also a much less comfortable car to live with every day.
I do agree, it wont be competing against the likes of STI and Evos, I just compared them to have an idea of what its 1/4 mile time could be. I currently own an Evo IX, and so far there is a possibility I might purchase it, however, I am still debating since I know it wont surpass my Evo performance wise. I do still think its a phenomenal car and I think its what Honda needed, a new start for the civic.
+LE PASH ENTERTAINMENT Thanks for the support. I did mention that there is a touch of turbo lag. I guess the only other tiny thing is that you have to get the GT model in order to have Satellite Navigation.
+Ken Wong That is a tough one! When I first drove it on the launch I was sold on the red, maybe the black. However, this blue really grew on me. I think I'd take it in blue.
i would love to drive that new type r, my only concern is, it looks like the body is too big and looks so heavy and of course like everyone says it looks ugly, looking at the previous type r, i would just like the old type r being redesigned a bit, and it will be more awesome if they atleast made it awd with a dual clutch, and that will make this new type r better and prolly get more sales for a avid car enthusiast.
I was trying to focus on what you were saying, but I couldn't, because you were bouncing around so much. Is the suspension really that stiff, or were the roads bad?
+Icanliketobewearing Bit of both. In +R mode its is a bit too stiff for the road. That is a track set-up really, but also these roads are a challenging surface.
2:22 That is a crap load of wheel hop. Honda may have engineered a way around the traction issues with stock power but once this thing is tuned with full bolt-ons, or even turbo-swapped, the FWD layout is gonna be a big burden.
+Inside Lane: Well, all of us here in the North American automotive market region from up in Canada all the way down to Mexico are rather used to being screwed over when it comes to ever receiving any of the "real" good or cool stuff from overseas when it comes to European or Japanese imports. For example,we never got any turbocharged Subaru Impreza WRX's until the 2002 or the Mitsubishi Lancer Evos until a few years later, nor did we ever get offered any Nissan Skylines in GT-R form until the R35 was released, but even that's no Skyline, and that's just but only a few Japanese examples alone! Still,we take whatever we can get and make the best out of what's available to us,regardless.
Figures. The story was a few months back that we were probably going to get this same basic vehicle with a little less of the cosmetics like the wing as well as a slightly de-tuned version of that same engine as in Japan and the U.K. by about a few HP. Beyond that,it was supposed to be a left hand drive version of the same exact vehicle, but this would appear not to be the case yet again. Still,I have no complaints as I can't afford a new car anyway, but I think Honda could've turned this vehicle into a potential cash cow here in America. Either way,it's their loss, not mine.
I'm glad they went with a manual gearbox. Instead of the awful paddle shift crap (in a hot hatch lol) some others went with. No AWD means the Focus RS is probably going to leave it for dead though.
Compared to the EK9 the new CTR is about 11 cms. taller and 300kg heavier! If you put a modified K20A, coil over suspension in an EK9, it will blow the doors off this new CTR on the circuit!
A wing that adds top speed? Much respect to that. No rice here. Too bad the back is ugly as hell, only thing on the back that's winning me over is the quad exhaust.
I honestly love this car, I always though the Honda Civic was a good car and I love the type R, I can't lie I am far from fond of FWD cars .. But from experience I can honestly say I think it's a great hatchback and it's at a fantastically reasonable price

Most people think this car looks terrible... this is my DREAM car. looks bloody amazing
same for me, type r
I agree

Love the way this car looks. I'd trade in my Si for this car in a heartbeat
6 years later and this is still one of my dream cars... I prefer it over the new one.

gearbox has the same throw as the old NSX! I want one (if I weren't a poor cripple)
I hope thing brighten up for you soon man 😟😟
It's about time Honda put a turbo in the Civic.

Sounds like you can't drive...
There's so many car experts here it's astonishing!
I want to see a FoRS VS. TYPE R shootout!
+Johnny CincoCero Fingers crossed we might be able to make that happen. Focus RS first drives will be early next year.
Inside Lane Sweet! Looking forward to it.
+Johnny CincoCero The Ford will destroy this. AWD plus 40 more ponies. Not to mention ford has a much better racing pedigree.
+Reapers261 No doubt. Would still like to see it.
+Reapers261 I dont think that Ford has a better racing pedigree. I think both brands are side to side. Honda in F1 and Ford in WRC.
I am loving the new honda civic type R it is definitely in my top 5 favorite cars
It is an excellent hot hatch. What do you think of it in blue?
Can we get a new Acura Integra?
@insidelane You've set the bar on reviews of the new CTR, good job!
+AmjadJDM What a nice thing to say. Thank you very much! That means a lot.
Really great review mate. I'm a focus rs driver myself but you nearly sold me it lol
+TheJimboe11 Thanks! Both are great cars.

Not that big into hatchbacks. But if and when they come to the US I'm buying one of these.
This is the first good thing to come from Honda in a long while...lets just hope they can keep it reasonably priced.

+LE PASH ENTERTAINMENT I first drove the car in that colour, great choice!
+Inside Lane Honda suffering delays! Hope its delivered on time 😂😂😂😂

that turbo and VTEC must really put you in your seat when driving. I must have one!
Would be great to see an Acura RSX Type R version with SH-AWD and 400HP! Come on HONDA-ACURA build a giant killer not just a challenger!

+Jeremy Brown I like Honda but never say Lamborghini and Honda in a same sentence. I mean please.
Great review from someone that I think that knows what they are talking about 👍
Damn I love this fucking car.
+SI RICKO It is quite the machine!
I love honda civic... the design is just mind blowing
When the turbo comes on the car pulls like hell really geez I wonder what your words you would use to describe the 600 hp car LOL
+NIGHTFOX Its. It about HP its torque.

can you do an Audi S3 review please, I really enjoy your review
+Mohammed Abdulla Thanks! We will try our best. Will likely be next year though as we have lots of thinks planned at the moment.
+nash6504 Have you driven a MK2 RS? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that car, but it torque steers like crazy.
+Mike M The Type R does produce 306BHP?
+Mike M I can only go on the official figures that the manufacturer claims.
Great video! Really thinking whether to save up for one of these, a megane 275 trophy r or a second hand a45 amg.
+Dervish I have this over the Renault, but the AMG would need some more thought. That little Merc is a beast!
Looks kinda goofy, but i'd still totally drive it due to it looking unique.
Best ever review on type r
power of dreaaam !
1:12 actually acura has been using a turbocharged vtec platform on a number of its models for almost a decade now
+Ethan Robertson We don't get Acura in Europe.
I think what I'm most excited about with the Civic Type R and the Focus RS is how it'll affect the rest of the segment. Will it push, for example, Volkswagen to begin importing the Scirrocco? How much will it push Subies STI design team? I'm so excited to see what the Type R and RS being imported will end up leading to
Too bad the age group that gets wet pants over the looks of this car, cant afford it. Yes, teenagers.
Yeah. It's grown man money for a childish looking car straight out of a hot wheels toy pack.
Yeah. It's grown man money for a childish looking car straight out of a hot wheels toy pack.
actually if you watched the review he said with a down payment of $3,000, the car payment is $300 a month so just about anyone with a job can afford teenager or adult
Nathan Shannon Speaking on a lease. Not buying it.
I'm 34 and I'm getting this.
hey,
just wondering if the Japanese and Asian country will receive the same Euro 2016 CTR ?
Btw, nice review..xoxo
+azyzul carey Thank you! Japan will get a very slightly modified version to meet with their regulations, but these changes will be negligible.
I'll have to pass on this one.
Why baby?
4 years later, would u take the newer versions?
As an American, I'm glad we're finally getting the Type R. It'll finally be a Honda that a true car person can respect.
+RyMann88 are we really getting it??
+EK9GraphicDesign Not this Type R. You will be getting the car that follows this one. There is so much confusion because Honda made 2 announcements at the same time. I think I'm going to put together a video next week to clear things up. Already spoke with Honda's PR team just to collect all of the facts.
+Inside Lane A video explaining all this will help a lot
+EK9GraphicDesign Ok. If that is what you guys would like I'd be happy to set the time aside to do it. *prepares for huge arguments in the comments of that video*
Inside Lane
Yeah, I stand corrected. The US is getting the 2017 Type R. Good thing too, because this one does look a tad bit like a Prius with a spoiler and different frontend. I just hope the 2017 Type R looks like the concepts we've seen so far.
It’s a let down we never had this in america. The 2019 civic that we got here is just sooo got damn hideous. I can’t get past it.
Thank you! I'm torn between waiting for this car to launch in Oz - which I heard won't be for a few years, or get an Evo or Sti next year
just put a down payment on a 2016 civic type r. The base price is $38,000 us.
Not for this car you haven't.
yup, but then again, when you have $$$$ you get what you want.
This car doesn't meet US requirements, hence why it is not being sold there.
never said i was getting it for the us.
+Inside Lane There is a Type R confirmed for the US however. www.caranddriver.com/features/2018-honda-civic-type-r-25-cars-worth-waiting-for-feature
Exciting review..well done!
+Buisang Ndlozi Thank you!
Jacky L. Evo same engine set up with similar power a lot faster.
Sofa King bro, evo is awd lol , of course it puts all the power on the ground when launching haha. Comparing a evo to a civic on drag?? that was smart.
+Sofa King are you ignorant? All you care is how fast a car goes from 0-60. Might as well buy a muscle car??
Jacky L. LOL OHHH I get what you're saying. So at a red light if a car beefs me and I have the type R. I be like BRO Let's meet at the track, BRO Let's go to the track right now!
want to buy this car but don't kwow whats the best color have only seen it in white
Seems slow. I'll take the rs
I don't think the presenter can drive the car properly 😂
I think it's brilliant, it looks great in blue
+Ian Townsend We liked the blue too.
LOL
It's the torque that makes it feel impressive.
The 2015 STI has 305hp, 0-60 in around 4.3-4.5 seconds
+Joe M Not in Europe it doesn't. Remeber that we time 62MPH here and measure in BHP. The car can go a bit quicker than its claimed times, all cars can, but obviously we can only really compare the official figures.
slow ugly big spoiler, comes stock a ricer XD
+nico5179 Don't forget Mitsi EVOs and such are 4WD, Civic is FWD. We ll get better understanding of Civic's acceleration if we look at 80-120 km/h time.
Great car and i love the color but the exhaust sound boring ! If u compare it with the golf r or Audi s3
+zziieedd True, and turbo charging does make it quieter. However, there is something very honest and not artificial about the way the Type R sounds.
That's a whole lotta ugly for just one car
I'm dead
indeed
It is honestly such an ugly car. It got so much hype when they announced it but I can't rand what it looks like.
+Zain B stand*
Usually quoted by someone that could never afford one.
Seems great, but will they be releasing a version of this car for grown-ups too?
Christ why can't they just bring back the Prelude, Integra, S2000 or RSX? This thing is hideous lol
+thecharlessmith (instagram) yes...very much yes! The civic's have been ugly cars for so damn long already.
+MechRider89 I know right? I have no idea why they refuse to reclaim they're former glory. the best they got is the new disgrace they call the NSX
Oil change ? Every 10.000 km ? How much for the service each year ?
Front Wheel Drive...?F*ck that. I'm leaving. Bye!
Whats wrong with FF?
Bledi Krasniqi
WHERE'S THE DRIFT?!
+Aryzen Inniriea you can still drift with FF
Bledi Krasniqi
More like just wildly swing the tail end out.... For about 10 feet, and then you just spin out.
You can't sustain it, and you can't control it.
Useless for that...
+Aryzen Inniriea are you drift everytime you drive your car?
I'd love to drive this. I currently have a turbo RSX-S with a JDM Type-R LSD and Brembo Calipers
Shit is so ugly. It may be fast but you can't change ugly
+Christian Avalos thats how we feel about ur mom too
just playing but i couldnt resist the set up
+Christian Avalos Thats what alot of people think of EVO's, good thing they stopped making the awful things.
Beautifully described!
I wanna see it compared to the new focus RS.
+br4incell We are trying to make plans... Fingers crossed.
when its coming to Malaysia..cant wait it..
+cymbodiaRules You are the second person to ask about this, but unfortunately this Type R is not coming to Malaysia.
+sakuna studd Agreed, I like the blue. The Black really hides all the craziness of the car tho, just those red striped wheels stand out a bit lol.
hey bro can you tell me all the modifications you did to this car and where did you get that all stuff plz and thnx
This car is completely stock from the manufacture.
oh really!!!!!! i think it could be pricey too.....?
its a beast so, whats the price of this beast.!!!!!!!
+Syed Zia 30 grand. That's without any packages and it's still a really ugly car
+Syed Zia About £30k but obviously that prices doesn't translate directly into a US price (if that is what are looking for) because of taxes .etc
I love those "nice Type R embezzled dials" :D Where were they stolen from?
Great video! Amazing car!
+Kavinda VW Thank you very much!
I really hope the CTR we get in the US next year is as good as this one.
Thanks mate, do you have anything negative to say about the car?! I watched all your other videos way back, 👌🏼
+LE PASH ENTERTAINMENT Thanks for the support. I did mention that there is a touch of turbo lag. I guess the only other tiny thing is that you have to get the GT model in order to have Satellite Navigation.
eprjf909
Which colour you like the most dude! Red or blue?? Very hard decision!
+Ken Wong That is a tough one! When I first drove it on the launch I was sold on the red, maybe the black. However, this blue really grew on me. I think I'd take it in blue.
+Inside Lane thanks for your opinion!!! I think i will go with blue too. Cheers
Dope looking car, got a camaro my self. They did a great job with this car!
+Hassy Ali Great to see a fan of American muscle appreciate other types of car.
I wonder how this compares to the new focus rs
+Anto 215 We hope to find out!
This car is bloody AWESOME!!!!!!! Love Honda!!!!
The 2017 is much more attractive and well thought out for an updated design.
i would love to drive that new type r, my only concern is, it looks like the body is too big and looks so heavy and of course like everyone says it looks ugly, looking at the previous type r, i would just like the old type r being redesigned a bit, and it will be more awesome if they atleast made it awd with a dual clutch, and that will make this new type r better and prolly get more sales for a avid car enthusiast.
Do you think it's better than the VW GTI?
+Aaron Anderson GTI easily. Golf R? That is a tougher question. On paper the Golf R is faster, but I had more fun in the Type R.
9:11 look at the horses checking out the car 🤣
2:22 That is a crap load of wheel hop.
Honda may have engineered a way around the traction issues with stock power but once this thing is tuned with full bolt-ons, or even turbo-swapped, the FWD layout is gonna be a big burden.
excellent review of the epic car, at this this stage it a pears Honda New Zealand won't be bringing this down, I'll stick with my standard version.
+Mark Atkinson Thank you so much. That is shame. It is the same for the guys in the US. Hopefully NZ will get the next-gen Type R.
+erebus38 We have just published a video explaining why the 2016 Honda Civic Type R is not coming to America: th-cam.com/video/5xvsHsIrv_w/w-d-xo.html
Either way,it's their loss, not mine.
how can I order one in advance for North America
why honda, why put the stuck in that position and not make this car awd? I love the look on this thing
I think I'm in love with this car
I'm glad they went with a manual gearbox. Instead of the awful paddle shift crap (in a hot hatch lol) some others went with.
No AWD means the Focus RS is probably going to leave it for dead though.
+BlatentlyFakeName Totally agree!
haven't previous gen rdx had 2.3 turbo with vtec?
We do don't get that in Europe :/
Compared to the EK9 the new CTR is about 11 cms. taller and 300kg heavier! If you put a modified K20A, coil over suspension in an EK9, it will blow the doors off this new CTR on the circuit!
Is this going to be like the USA version for 2017?
+Native722 If you look at the 10th gen Civic and imagine this sort of added body work.
But from experience I can honestly say I think it's a great hatchback and it's at a fantastically reasonable price
falling in love at its finest 💖💖💖
I wish this car starts selling here in the U.S by 2018 or 2019. That way I can finish up my RSX Type S
