I Gave a College Lecture on the FNAF Timeline

I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present a lecture on the full Five Nights at Freddy's timeline to one of my psychology classes. For added humor and for my own personal enjoyment, I did zero preparation for it. No research, no confirmation of facts, just an off-the-cuff display of my knowledge on a series that I very clearly know far too much about. MatPat, eat your heart out!
Join me as I stumble through the convoluted and tragic stories of FNAF 1, 2, 3, and 4, Sister Location, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, and Ultimate Custom Night. No Security Breach, no Help Wanted, none of that Glitchtrap mess LOL

Fun little exposition story for all you lovely description readers: I got the opportunity to do this because before class one day, I drew Springtrap saying "Micheal" (spelled like that) on the whiteboard. One of my classmates asked "Who's Micheal?" and since our professor was late, I started explaining FNAF lore to the class half-jokingly. Once Mrs. Mollie showed up, she promised that if we finished our notes early, I could use the last day of class to give a real FNAF Lecture, and sure enough we finished those gosh darned notes early.

I’ve been a fan of the _Five Nights at Freddy’s_ franchise for a _very_ long time, and I can confirm that I, without a doubt, would _definitely_ do well in a class like this.
I feel like if this were a real class, it’d be a LOT of writing papers - fnaf lore is much too up in the air to have any concrete multiple choice answers lol

In a recent interview, the Steel wool executives said they were very interested in doing a FNAF origins game if Scott approved. If this happened, I'd love to learn more about William Afton's decent into madness, as the reason why he started killing kids in a complete mystery. I feel it would add some much needed depth to the character.
The legitimate feel of a college lecture adds to the greatness of this.
I like to think of myself as a person quite well-versed in fnaf lore due to lack of a life and the sheer extents my hyperfixations can go to, and even I learned something else today which admittedly I don't know how I didn't XDD Always thought Fazbear Frights happened in 2010s, but while watching I decided to check and sure enough it's 2023. I guess that's something I though years ago in the said 2010s when FNAF was but a passing interest that wouldn't last longer than a month or two every new released game and that somehow with all the content I consumed this year I didn't bother questioning.
Also in regards to remnant, I remember when I first heard of it I really didn't like that addition, really whacked me out. It do be kinda complicated. And I do suspect that remnant is the exact reason Michael is alive despite literally being a rotting corpse, seems like the most likely explanation is that when he was spooped the scooper somehow injected it or something. Or maybe that has something to do with Ennard. Anyway ye I did get used to the whole concept of remnant and agony after reading through the Silver Eyes trilogy and the Fazbear Frights books.
Also in regards to Evan, I am SO happy you referred to him as that. Sometimes I get tired of hearing just "The Crying Child" and "CC", and when he's called Chris it's even whackier. Not to mention I've seen some people think that Cassidy was an Afton and the same character as Evan lol
And off-topic but I've also seen someone think Michael was Springtrap and not ole Peepaw Willy just last year,so that was weird xD
Anyway, sorry for the long comment I literally have noone to talk to when it comes to FNAF so I tend to ramble whenever I get the chance. This was fun to listen to, thanks man ^^ Glad I got this video in my recommended.

Yeah, in FFFPS we see the Scooper blueprint and it actually manages remnant due to some reason, probably because of Purple Guy experimenting with it, which makes sense considering the scooper goes into animatronics.

I always thought that Mangle aimed for the frontal lobe due to the toy animatronics specifically having that facial recognition software. Probably when Mangle was mangled, a wire or two got crossed causing a cascading software/hardware malfunction, which had the result of her specifically aiming at heads. It also ties in why Mangle was the only one to attack anyone in broad daylight. All the others wait until night because the reason for their aggression was the souls inside the suit. The only other animatronic that attacks during the day is Fredbear, and only because a little kid was shoved into his mouth.

this is probably the best timeline i’ve seen in awhile, it manages to explain everything but isn’t too convoluted (in terms of jumping around the timeline)

offtopic but i want to see a detective piece together the fnaf story with no background knowledge on it, only using sources from the games and books
This is a very funny idea for someone with more money and time than me; genuinely a banger video idea
I love how FNAF 1 specifically is the one game that you don't mention when it happens on the timeline lol, in hindsight it's probably the least relevant in terms of lore, overall this was really well done given that it was all from memory, the only part that I'd say is definitely "probably" wrong is claiming that Elizabeth died before Charlie, as the books confirm that Charlie died first, and the games at least hint towards this as well (What with Baby initially being a recreation of the deceased Charlie made by Henry that was later stolen by William before it gobbled up Elizabeth), there's also the souls of the FNAF 1 kids not being freed until around the time of FNAF 3 due to help from the puppet which you didn't mention, but that does get into the noodly FNAF 3 minigames so eh.
There were a few things that I had heard different theories for, such as Evan’s nightmares being illusions made by sound illusion discs as a ploy by Willy A to stop Evan from going near the potentially dangerous animatronics and the funtimes being made from the remnant (soul metal) of the og squad melted together (explaining their anger, confusion and such like) but otherwise I was extremely impressed! Having a timeline set out like that makes it much clearer. I can’t wait for MatPats confirmed episode talking about everything confirmed and speculated (maybe even a timeline from the lore man himself!) so far in the series coming in the next few weeks!
He did say that he was going to ignore most spin-off which I believe is where the ilusión disk is introduced so I understand he would skip it, or he doesn't know about them

Oh no he’s using the old FNAF 4 lore. Sister location has proved that the locations from the gameplay segments of fnaf 4 are real and seem more like a testing or torture room. I believe Micheal faced the nightmare animatronic since In the Security log book Micheal draws a Nightmare animatronic.

Glad you enjoyed the class but unfortunately 101B will not be offered in the Spring. Apparently teaching college students about zombie robot child unalivers is “promoting superstition among the student body” and “ethically questionable.”
LOL jokes aside, not sure if I’ll do a followup to this video. I likely won’t have another chance to do something similar, and I know that if I did make another it would just be in pursuit of views, which would be pretty vain of me.
