I think your interview with Rjac was a huge missed opportunity.
Your criticism of the game's development from the player's point of view is *totally* valid. It seems impossible - not just in a skill-based way, but also in a mechanically disjointed way.
However, this was a rare chance to talk to the dev directly. We could have gained some insight about what he might have done differently, what kind of experience he was *hoping* players would have, or which parts of this game he might elaborate on in the future.
It sounded to me that each of your questions were paraphrasings of the scathing comments that made him unlist the game shortly after its release. He already knows about the frustrations you brought up. He knows the game is flawed. Based on his responses, it sounded like he was compelled to apologize for those frustrations all over again, even when this elaborate ass game was a *passion project* that he released for *free.*
Sure, he might have gotten lost in the sauce while making it, but just look at it - it's beautiful, it's complex, and it employs some really creative puzzles and mechanics - all crammed into one package that happened to be way too tiny. Actually, I don't know that any major complaints involved technical flaws or major game-breaking bugs, and not even Security Breach can measure up to that! lol
Rjac is obviously talented. He knows how to come up with unique ideas, and how to pull them off. I'm *very* impressed that the game he released was the game he *meant* to release. Perhaps he could have used some help packaging that talent into a playable and accessible game.
He sounded defeated. I hope he keeps trying!

The way it was worded felt like it was pushing the idea of “you fucked up you piece of shit.” The developer sounded very uncomfortable, and something to note is that he DID listen to his play testers a little bit. I'm not sure if he hasn't or not, but I really wish uhyeah said something positive and uplifting to the creator of the game. I know that not everything has to be sunshine and rainbows, but you could definitely hear how sad the guy was, so not saying anything to him in terms of the amazing things he has done in its own section bothers me. And ending the video off of the line "listen to your beta testers" is warranted, but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

Especially since it was a free fan game. It would be one thing if he had crowdfunded the game and been held liable to backers, or if he had made it a paid game and thus been held liable to the customers, but it was released as a passion project for free. The dev would have been completely in his right to just keep it as is, but instead, he's listening to community feedback, which I think a lot of people are taking for granted. He doesn't owe us anything, and as he's going above and beyond, yet he's still getting sh*t on like he failed the community somehow.

I've learned from others feedback, that you can be led into clouded judgment, due to muscle memory of constant playing the game.
Easiest way to not overdo it is simply have casual mindset. That you make the game for fun. Doesnt have to be difficult as long as its fun.

Post-shift was an amazing game to see, and Left to Rot is one of my favorite FNaF games. To see the creator of Post-Shift make a game like Left to Rot on an arguably even grander scale is a joy. The major flaws about the game are nothing that can't be tweaked (bar the make-or-break variety-style gameplay) and is a great shake-up to the pretty stale fnaf fangame environment. Hope he's still willing to try out his ideas, I'd love to see more.

A lot of people in the comments are a lot more generous than I'm about to be. Many of them say the interview was a missed opportunity, and it was weird. While I do agree, it was far more than that.
It was the most difficult thing to watch that I've ever seen. Your questions, delivery and wording was so incredibly disrespectful and abhorrent. Throughout the interview, you
    1. Interrupt the interviewee
    2. Degrade and demean the interviewee
    3. Use incredibly poor wording at the interviewee's expense.
This was NOT an interview. This was a grill session. It was incredibly disrespectful and gross. This was a developer who definitely put passion into the game, and you disregarded this and continued to disrespect and treat him awfully.

The game definitely has good potential.

UhYeah came across as so condescending and rude. 27:37 “it was a learning experience for everyone, but mostly for *_you_* .” Like *you* try and make a FNAF fan made game and come up with such stunning graphics and amazing concept ideas, even if it may have been difficult from a consumer perspective. The guy was creative and it was a *passion project* , never heard anyone sound so heart broken. This wasn’t an interview it was more of an interrogation, uhyeah frequently cut him off and when he didn’t he just shrugged off the devs responses, threw accusations at him and rubbed in complaints he already knew about (rubbing salt on an already open wound)... uhyeah sounded spiteful and bitter when he said “Listen to your beta testers” as he was signing off, it was an unecessary and lackluster comment. After all, he was trying to and was adjusting the game every time he got a criticism on it. If it’s too hard, don’t play it, and share CONSTRUCTIVE criticism so that you _will_ be able to play it.
I’m not saying uhyeah can’t have an opinion about the mechanics, but it’s the way you go about it. The interview was more guilt trippy than anything.
    Disappointing.

But the listen to your beta testers thing I can understand why he would say that, the reason I say this is because alot of the comments are talking about being alot nicer, but I don’t see any other way of saying what he said other than changing his tone. He should’ve had a better way of going about asking the questions, maybe not joking so much, but, other than that I don’t see Much of a problem.

He didn’t have to sugarcoat it but it wasn’t just his tone, it was his choice of words; he had the incentive to ask questions that would have included finer details about the rubric and structure of the game. I do think actually making jokes with the dev would have been more helpful, the dev seemed rather discouraged and uncomfortable the whole time… He was an indie dev working by himself on a passion project, people were upset at the mechanics but I think most who saw this video were able to come to understand the position he was in, it’s not so much the mechanics the people were focused on in this video but the missed opportunity from uhyeah, the difficult mechanics had already been largely covered previously and answered by the dev.. and yes i do agree that there are many comments approaching the video the same way uhyeah approached the interview, I do wish they were more counterproductive (even mine).

I can understand how giving critism while being disconnected from both the media you're critisizing and the audience via a screen as a job can make someone less empathetic, but usually that goes away when the person interacts directly (excluding text) with another person... that "interview" was just harsh.

Every other aspect of this video is really well done and I've gone back to it a few time, but I just cant stomach that last segment. I went and played through the entirety of post shift 2 myself, even went and got the true ending. It has some obvious flaws, but I really enjoyed the gameplay once i figured everything out, and think this incredible passion project was insulted way too much. The interview segment was such a wasted opportunity. Uhyeah could have asked questions and gotten insight about Rjak's inspiration and approach to making the game and mechanics, but he just mostly repeated the criticism Rjak already got from all over the internet. It reslly feels extra tastless when it directly follows Phisnom's segment of the video. Heck even at the end of Phil's stream, he had some kind words for Rjak, which is pretty impressive after sitting down and playing the game with only a bit of external help for over 12 hours. I'd probably have enjoyed the game a lot less if I approched it that way. Anyways, this comment is definitely beating a dead horse, but I just wanted to get my thoughts out. And the way ppl talk smack about him for not able to properly make a game despite being an only one person meanwhile ppl are paying on expensive buggy, unfinished games made by billionaire companies and still praising them.
