    You are my favorite TH-cam dog groomer. You are the best! I know "my favorite groomer" title is taken, but it fits you better. You're patient and gentle with all the dogs. As well as knowledgeable. I really enjoy watching and learning from your videos. Thanx for sharing your talents.

    So nice to see someone that actually knows how to line brush and taking the time to do it. There is one "Groomer" on youtube that all she knows how to due is shave it if it is matted in any way. I am a retired groomer of 30 years so most of my knowledge is old school.

    He’s BEAUTIFUL! I have a 2 year old black Labradoodle named Harvey. He and Covid got me into grooming and I love it! I am currently working on starting a home based small grooming business. I still have a lot to learn. I’m 55 so didn’t really want to go to school so I’m learning from tons of videos and books. I love your very helpful videos too! Harvey’s coat is VERY curly and thick. I keep him in some kind of poodle cut because I like the clean face. He’s a big guy! My best friend! Thank you for helping me learn! 😊

    Have a mini golden doodle. Just found your station and would love more info on our little mini. Today I spent a while trying to get knots out by her ears. She was so good and patient but after watching your info I definitely need to step up regular grooming. Have limited tools but love your suggestions. Keep up the awesome work videos!❤

    I have 2 female Cavapoos... one hair is more curly with a undercoat that a little thick, like a poodle, the other one is a little smoother and less curly and her undercoat isn't vert thick, she takes a lot less time drying too.
    I watched your video on The right tools you need to groom your dog at home, I found that very helpful. Thanks Amy for helping us pet parents.

    I have a miniature goldendoodle with a curly coat and that's how I found your channel....looking for how to groom a goldendoodle. I have watched MANY channels and by far yours is the best! Some of the other groomers seem a little rough in the handling of their dogs while you are gentle and loving. To me that makes all the difference. Grooming can be a stressful event but you keep your dogs calm and relaxed. Love it!! I am not only trying to learn your techniques, but am also religiously listening to your recommendations of products. I trust your opinion and greatly appreciate your suggestions. Thank you so much!!

    I have three Havanese in long coat. One has profuse coat with lots of texture. Just the movement of his coat causes webbing, tangles, and matting. This is especially true of his legs, neck, and where his tail lays over his back.

    I love your videos! You have such compassion for the dogs you groom, not just for their coats but for their long term health and comfort too! Thank you for your advice and tutorials. I went from never owning a dog to owning two Samoyeds, a 2 yr old I’ve had since she was 8 weeks old, and a new 9 month old rescue puppy. I have so much to learn about how to keep their high maintenance double coats looking beautiful and mat free. I would love to see you do deshedding tutorial for Samoyeds and another on how to regularly dry brush them out at home between baths-how often do you recommend brushing and which tool to use. They have such long and knot prone coats. Thank you again for creating this really helpful content.

    I have a white miniature schnauzer. Her name is Luna, and we absolutely love her. We got her during the pandemic when we were all at home, and so now we are working on our problem with her separation from us problem. We took her to a groomer, and she barked the entire time, twice. So the groomer will not allow her to come back. We are giving her short spurts of time alone in her kennel, So now I am her groomer. Your videos are helping a lot.

    As a certified bather/brusher I am always on lookout for more great brushes and combs. I have seen you using this brush so I got one and tried it. Absolutely one of the best slickers. I tested it on my forearm..and could not believe the comfort. I swear I think the dogs I’ve used it on in the past 2 weeks have enjoyed their brush outs. I now prefer it to my CC coral and black. How much did I love it..I actually purchased 2 more in the small size. One for my boss and one for me to use on faces. Beyond that I’m recommending them to every groomer/doodle/dog Facebook group that I am in.

    I have a mini double doodle ( mini labradoodle/mini Berniedoodle mix ) with a coat that mats really easy. It’s either keep her cut really short or learn the right tools to brush her myself. Her coat is very soft and thick. I’d love to keep it at least a medium length.

    • @GoGroomer
      @GoGroomer  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s fine if you want to keep her coat a little longer and fluffy that means you must brush her about three times a week properly and use a good brush out spray such as Quicker slicker. You’re going to need to bathe condition, brush and dry about every three weeks to keep that coat in good shape.

    THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for this video (I began watching the video where hubby go groomer :-) compares brushes while brushing your golden doodle...it stopped half way through the video, and I was happy I found this one!)! I am a petsitter who decided to work for a groomer part-time (due to losing lots of clients who canceled due to covid-19), and she is SO busy right now, handling the overflow of dogs who have been waiting to be groomed, that she hasn’t the time to really instruct me, with what I see are important details. Your videos are a GIFT!! I was finding the poodles to be my biggest challenge, and now with your expert videos, I feel confident enough to get them brushed well & safely (they thank you too; “wuff”!). Looking forward to viewing all the videos, so I can be of better service to the dogs🙏🏼😘PS Love the background music😀

    Amy Leigh, you are my new best friend!! THANK YOU for this video. After getting my mini schnauzer in for a post-Covid groom, I asked his groomer what brush I should use now to get him used to it to minimize mats for the next groom. (I am such a fan of your Grooming Mini Schnauzers video -- but not up to the expense or skill level!) She sent me a pic of the Chris Christiensen slicker brush, and I almost died when I saw how much they cost. I saw your recent video mentioning the Kenchii slickers, and yes, what a huge savings. But I wanted to see how to use it before I bought it. This is just what I need!! Bless you!! Murray thanks you!!

      I have a Slicker brush from Petco. But, I’m going to get the one you suggested. I did figure out that I needed to pull the coat up just like you did. I have a Australian Labradoodle. I like his fur a little longer, usually around 2in sometimes a little longer. I enjoyed your video on the clippers. Very informative. Especially since I have trouble getting people to cut him the way my old groomer did. Sadly she moved out of state. So now I decided to take it into my own hand. Lol! It’s definitely a challenge for me because I use to cut human hair. Huge difference. But, I up to the challenge. I just found your channel and I have only watched 2 videos as of now. So this may be a marathon day for me. Thank you very much for sharing your information. Not many are eager to give advice or directions. Thank you 😊

      Was just curious if you've ran into trouble with clients brushing to hard through the coat and end up scratching the skin. Ive recommended against pet owners using slickers for years. They never know until they come in and I do a blow dry and inspect the skin and it shows. Dryness scratches etc.. I have them switch to a metal comb and skin condition clears. Maybe this particular slicker has more flexible bristles. LOVE kenshi shears I discovered as a cosmetologist so I'm sure their brushes are above the rest as well. I have a mini Golden doodle and groom oodles of doodles of all kinds up here in Anchorage.🐩😂

    Just discovered your channel and love it! As requested, leaving the breed of my dog here, which is a Cockapoo. He is elderly now and my vet has asked me to learn to groom him because he's developed severe anxiety because of loss of eyesight in one eye (glaucoma) and his hearing is going. He's so stressed out at the Groomer that he's having seizures. I do not think I'm alone in this. Any videos you can produce to help the average person groom an elderly dog with some health issues (many elderly dogs have arthritis and find standing a long time to be groomed very difficult!) would be much appreciated!

      @@GoGroomer I feel so blessed, honored, and privileged to have discovered your channel. I have an 18 month old red brindle Afghan Hound who is terribly 😔 matted after coming back from boarding. I send her groomed, only to return neglected. I was looking for the Activet Mat Zapper, but decided to order the large Kenchii slicker brush instead. I'm excited to have newfound hope. I know Esther, (my puppy) will be relieved. I've been brushing daily since last Friday, while progress is very slow. It just devastates me seeing her like that. Then I seen where brush burn actually occurred. My wrist is even sore. It really feels good knowing there are other options besides cutting ✂️ since I see where they've been chopping my baby's hair without my consent. I want to show her one day, but this has slowed down the process.

    I have a shitzu and she Tangles easy. The stuff that comes out of her eyes smells her face and leaves such a stain. I've tried to cut it out I've tried to use thinning shears but nothing is working. She also gets knots right at the base of her tail and does not want me to touch your feet. That's because I took her 2 the vet and they did a nail trim and they took long nails and trim them down to like a quarter of an inch and she has never wanted her nails to be touched again. You're such a beautiful little girl she has such an odor to her I just don't know what to do for her. I'm so glad your videos are here because I've seen a lot of what you've done in your teaching lessons that has shown me that I am doing a lot of things right without any training. I just see something I think it might look better different way do I have to remove a knot and I take care of it the best I can and in the end she looks pretty. Thanks for the videos

    I have started grooming my dogs at home. First time I did fair. I’ve always keep the trimmed between grooms. I retired and have health issues. I brush them daily and try to do nails one day. Oral care about 2 times a week. After a couple of actually grooming my poodle was a mess with a very uneven cut. I had to trim with scissors a lot to fix him enough to suit me. I also decided to groom myself because I’m so picky, per my kids. Lol. So I’ve bought 2 other sets. Wahl brands. I can’t find a 10 blade. It’s time for bathe and cut and I’m just in tears over what to do. I just saw where I need to clean my my trimmer so I’ll do that. Can u give me any other advice. I just ordered this brush. Thanks and I love you.

      I purchased the large Kenchi slicker (Amy suggested the large size). So happy! It not only brushes my standard poodle beautifully (including de-matting), the "bristles" are softer to the skin compared to CC and other slickers I've tried. Very impressed!

      Vengdisaw * Hi sweetie✨ so glad to hear you are a groomer too! When I began grooming I went to as many tradeshows as possible because I learned so much there from the Andis wahl and Oster booths as well as sitting sidelines for the grooming competitions. It wasn’t long before I decided I wanted to compete too. I learned so much from the other groomers as well as the judges that would critique my work. The best advice I can give you is surround yourself with the people that you want to be like:) best wishes my friend💕

    Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. How do you feel about Pampered Paws undercoat rakes for our Great Pyrenees

    • @GoGroomer
      @GoGroomer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like to use undercoat rakes on double coated breeds only after they have been thoroughly brushed and bathed and then wet brushed. I like to let the brush remove as much as possible before going to an undercoat rake. The rake can be aggressive-just be gentle and let the tool pull only what is willing to release from the coat. Hope this helps:)

      I NEED that video! My Australian Labradoodle does great at the groomer (so they tell me) but he won’t let me brush him. At all! He gets very bitey. So it’s unpleasant for both of us- which leads to matting. I don’t know how to make him like it so we can just get through it. He’s completely naked right now because of matting. He’s 18 months old.
