Caught a tagged Striper at the CBBT It was tagged off the coast of Maine. Thats a lot of swimming!!
Don’t cut the tag of in the future if your releasing them, it’s more advantageous to the biologists if you let it go and just call and report the tag ( location size etc). That way another angler can call again if they catch the same fish
+ There's no prize reward... this is not a fishing derby... it's the State doing it's research and tracking analysis.
@@juliolua2104 I caught a tagged striped bass years ago on the Sheepscot river in Maine, and when I sent the tag in I received a $10 reward and a cool certificate to hang up on my wall.

I've worked on the Chesapeake Bay for year's and fished there even longer. I caught a few tagged fish and it's exciting when you do. You should try around Tilghman Md, last two I caught were over 40 inches and one almost 50 inches. Sweet video and keep up the great work and as always a big Hello to my Maryland Fishermen!!

An old saying for saltwater fishing is "if there's no run, then there's no fun". This basically means that fish will bite more agressively when the tide is moving rather than during slack water. Where I live it's better when the tide is running out from a high tide.

I was out in that area last month fishing. I didn't do very well. I'd like to get out there when the red drums and the cobia's are running. Both of those get huge.

Came across your video , I’m down here in SE , La. years ago I caught strippers up on False River lil town of New Roads , La. the state WLF stocked some in the river , boy can those fish fight , released some up to 30 inches using soft plastic swim baits , hope to get back up there one day for some more action , thanks for sharing your video

you should try saltwater fly fishing for striped bass. It's a lot of fun

I've tagged a number of striped bass with similar yellow spaghetti tags for the American Littoral Society. So far, none of the fish I've tagged have been reported as re-caught. Not sure if that's good or bad.

Biologists use the tags to track a fish's growth rate and travel patterns. You call the DNR give them the numbers on the tag and they can tell you where the fish was tagged!!!

You don't take the tag off if you are releasing the fish.
Good fishing! Striper are good to fish! I just fished some here in Texas. We in fact just used the birds to guide us 😀 video is up on my channel if anyone is interested.
Don't cut the tag off!!!!!!!!! Just get measurements of the fish /weight and information off tag with has a number and call it in.
