Half the reason it took a long time for me to feel like I went from beginner to intermediate skill level was using yarns that were either not right for the project or just not good; the way you explain the objective and the subjective good and bad qualities in your reviews has improved my planning and buying. I'm not sure which I'm more thankful for... saving me money, or saving me SO MUCH frustration!

My reservation about Kindred yarn is that both cotton and alpaca tend to grow during wear, at least in knitted items. You start out with 3/4 sleeves and they are hanging off of your fingertips by the end of the day.

Honesty time. I found your channel a while ago and was a little turned off by the phrase “yarn snob” so I didn’t stick around, but girl I’m so glad I found it again. Your videos are so informative and honest, it’s hard to find that balance between being overly informative and assuming everybody knows everything, but you’ve nailed it on the head. Kindred definitely sounds like it’s better designed for simple knit projects. It would probably look nice in stockinette stitch 😁 I love that you’re plugging your patterns now! You’ve got such an eye for design ❤️
I love to use the variegated style (like your cotton Momento) in the moss stitch. I do two rows of a solid that matches and then a row of the variegated and it kinda "sandwiches" it and its a nice look. Its been about the only stitch I love for a quick color changing cake. I'd love to try it with the neutral color way with beige or white as the solid. Would be a very cute summer time baby blanket!

I feel lile you answer every question I could ever have in your reviews. Very insightful and satisfying. I feel my crochet skill is adequate, but I am completely ignorant when it comes to different yarn fabrics and the pros and cons. I also appreciate your explanations for your bias for a specific fabric and how another pattern or stitch could be a work around. I have only ever used cheap acrylic and I balk at quality yarn as I don't understand how to use it. Thank you so much. I will eventually make myself something lovely and luxurious. Mahalo!

Clicked because I love shine. I use it for my fingerless gloves the most. Kindred would make great beanies imo. I love that tone for brims, especially fold over brims. I stumbled across Muse awhile back and I totally might have maybe definitely made my Hubby slightly angry with how many skeins I bought. 😬😁 It is in my top 5 favorite yarns. I'm a knitter. You can do just about any project with it, depending on the colorway you choose, and it feels AWESOME to work with. The result is a beautiful fabric. Seeing you use Tunisian with it had me running to dig out my Tunisian hook. Lovely!!!

I love that you choose different stitches to best showcase the yarn every time. With the Kindred, I wonder if it's a style of yarn better suited to knitting. I bought a Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool colorway with a similar contrast strand and ripped out _everything_ I tried to crochet with it because it just did not look good in any stitch pattern, but now it's becoming a knit sweater and I love it after all.
