i love when you pop up on my recommended feed and get me back into crocheting again. I am currently working on my biggest project yet, which is a braided blanket. I also love how honest you are in your reviews and you are one of the only people I trust my yarn buying with. thank you for lighting up my day
I love your Yarn Snob reviews. They open me up to new yarns I probably wouldn't have found on my own. I also love that you get right to the point about the yarn, and that you're honest when there's a feature that you don't like. Now to work through my yarn stash so I can buy more yarn lol

Your reviews are always right on the money! I haven't disagreed with one of them yet! Thank you for your honesty and the time you take to help us out. It's very much appreciated!
I love how you have a project that would pair well with the yarn that you are reviewing! I won't have a bunch of yarn sitting in the corner not knowing what to do with it after I purchase them lol.
i havent crocheted much lately.. your channel reaaally gives me back the motivation again (i suppose it happens when you have a lot of different art hovbies)
Hi Toni. I ran across your video and I’m so so happy I found you. Subscribed before you were only half way through. I cannot wait to watch all your previous vids and look forward to new ones! You are an amazing teacher! You gave so much information and make it fun. Felt like we were sitting at the kitchen table having a blast! My Mom (87 years old) taught me to crochet many, many years ago and I love it. I think of her every time I get out my yarn. So you brought back cherished memories for me. Especially when it’s cold outside and I snuggle up next to the fire and crochet to my hearts content. Toni…. You have just brightened up my entire day! Sending you love and warm Autumn wishes🤗🍁🍂🎃🍁
@@pinkyhooks4939 Yes she is! I’m so happy I found her! Looking forward to nice cold weather and sit by the fire & crochet. Do you plan on the same? What I really love is watching Hallmark Christmas movies while making my crocheted Christmas gifts. What’s better on a cold Sunday afternoon!?! My hubby makes fun of my Christmas movies but I unapologetically, happily watch almost every one of them🤣. Sending you a big hug and and wishing you and your family a wonderful autumn season🌻🤗🍁🍂
This was a great 13 minute start to my day!! You make me laugh and have one EXACTLY the same pet peeve...hard to find start yarn and of course, I love the "yarn barf" comment!! Thank you! A bit more seriously, I love the reviews with a pattern idea if we want to try the yarn! Very helpful!!
I really like hobbii, I have mainly tried their cake yarns, I would love to see a video reviewing their sultan and twister yarns, even more so for you to make patterns using them 😍🤞🏼
I do more knitting than I do crochet, but I absolutely love this series. It helps me find more yarn brands and types to help me get inspired for new projects
Girl I NEED more reviews!!! I stumbled on your channel because I've been swooning over yarn but never know what's worth my money. I've binged probably every Yarn Snob review EVER! Anything that gets high hook rating is on my wishlist ❤❤❤
I am now completely obsessed 🤩 with your Yarn Snob videos. It’s changed the way I approach my yarn stash. When I was new to crochet and knitting I spent a lot of time petting yarn at the store and being disappointed when working with the pretty yarn I bought because it simply didn’t speak to my craft heart. Thank you for helping me make better yarn shop and Joanne purchasing decisions.
I’m so happy to see this video!!! I’ve been scrolling through Hobbii for a couple days wondering which yarns I wanted to get so this is going to be a great help. Love you Toni!!
I've been wanting the Winter Glow and that Alpaca Silk so thank you so much for the review! I'm a knitter mostly but love the yarn reviews and your patterns 😍
i knitted a huge-ass wrap with winter glow last winter, and i had to actively restrain myself from buying more. it knits beautifully and i loved the varying thickness!! i absolutely recommend trying it!!
Thanks for your beautifully in-depth reviews, lady! Much appreciated!! I have two grown sons who are both 2X and love wool. One lives in CO, one in milder N. CA. Winter Glow checked every box but one for me, and them. HUGE yardage!!!! I used a little less than 3 balls on each sweater, and both had cables. The hand was scrumptious, the thick/thin kept my interest, and THE COLOR!!!! FUGGEDABOUTIT!!!! I did pair it with Hobbii's Alpaca Lace as a second strand for the son in CO. Talk about luxury...... They both love their sweaters.....but there is one snag...Lets be real, I raised them right, but washing wool is like pulling teeth for them. Winter Glow is hand wash...but dang it, they are both over 40. Gotta grow up sometime, and pay the price for the luxury I heap on them. Lol I'm making a snuggle throw for me soon....
I think I might have used a similar yarn to that Winter Glow variegated in a few projects several years ago. It's very pretty, and I love color-changing yarns in general. I'll have to watch for a good sale on it when I've freed up more storage space in the stash!
Thanks for the Yarn Break email! I'm really glad I took a break! This is my first yarn review video ever, and now I"m eager to go back and catch the many other Yarn Snobs reviews you've filmed!
When I saw the winter glow colours I had to buy them!!! Gorgeous and they crochet beautifully. It does tend to stick to itself for sure but I tell you - the finished result is worth the wait!! I’d send you a pic of the final vest but I cannot post a pic here. Needless to say I love my final piece! Love the yarn snob reviews. Keep them coming!!
I just finished a mosaic overlay afghan using winter glow solid and #13. I was surprised that the wool didn't bother me, like most wools other than alpaca or cashmere often do. It has held up to over a year of being dragged in and out of a yarn bag, traveling back and forth as we moved, no pilling or coming apart. It is soft! My only issue was that it does NOT seem to be a #4 yarn at all, acting more like a #3. I have enough left over to make myself something, as the design pattern was for two wallhangings using 8/4 cotton, and it was hard to figure how much I needed. Thank you for your interesting reviews on yarns. They really help me decide whether or not I want to spend my retirement money on something that may or may not work out.
I bought a winter glow last year that was a different color. The amount of yarn is very generous in one skein. I plan to do a tutorial on myself soon with it
I just got myself a few pairs of Winter Glow and Winter Glow Solid 2 weeks ago. Once I saw the solids pop up on the website I just knew I had to get it! I so love the fact you can pair them together and make sweaters with a solid brim, for example.
I agree with your center pull indicator rant!!!!! I’ve accidentally gutted so many skeins trying to find the center pull, but I still refuse to start on the outside and have my skein flopping all over the floor while I yank more yarn off of it
This will be my 2nd time watching. I watched yesterday when I got notified that you posted a new video and then now when I got the email that I needed a yarnie break. Lol I love your series and yes, I swear your honest reviews are really the only ones I trust.
I’ve just started watching/loving your videos. I’m subscribed! LOL! I LOVE the “Brillo pad to baby alpaca” line. It is SO true. You’re a joy. Thank you 🙏🏻.

I really love your yarn snob reviews! they're so gorgeous and very informative! Plus your tutorials and patterns have made me level up my crochet game! So excited for your video! You've definitely inspired me to try some new things. Just started tunisian crocheting because you make it look so fun and it's so relaxing.
She does make Tunisian crocheting look so easy and simple. I wanted to try to do a simple tutorial on my channel but I leave the Tunisian crochet 2 Tony because she is the queen. I just stay in my own lane with regular crocheting LOL
@@TLYarnCrafts I got myself a set of simple metal ones to learn on and just order some bamboo ones with cables to start working on hats and scarves for Christmas.
I'm so glad you reviewed Winter Glow. I've had my eye on it for a while, but I'm always hesitant to work with wool unless I can feel it first. Thank you!!!
Greetings Ms Toni, You deserve a Ko-Fi so I contributed to your tip jar! Thank you ever so much for the yarn review and introduction to "Hello Fresh". My favorite yarn is the Hobbii Winter Glow! I'm looking into that and Thank You for the discount code! I too am all for the "center pull indicator!". Massive Love!
I get so excited when I see your Yarn Snob reviews! I’ve wanted to try the Winter Glow for a while now. I agree, I think pull tabs should be an industry standard across the board. I truly don’t understand why it hasn’t become one?
Divina is my new favorite yarn❤️ Alpaca Bris is just like it. No pilling❤️❤️ Love the highland working on a sweater I’m not brave enough to try alpaca silk. Love your reviews and thank you for teaching me how to do Tunisian too
What stitch were you crocheting with the Divina alpaca silk. I really like it. I also agree about center pull indicators to reduce the glob of a mess found when trying to find the primary pull strand. I've spent 15 min on some yarns detangling the glob.
I think it was the Tunisian simple stitch though it could be some other Tunisian as I'm not very familiar with them. Do you know what the first swatch was? I've been searching in the comments but I'm not finding any answers about it
Hey Toni! Just wanted to let you know I am a big fan of your reviews. Ever since I got into crochet I have been obsessed with building up my yarn collection and watching your reviews just makes me want to buy a ton of new skeins(sp?) and try them out. I’m a 31 yr old male from WI and my job as a caregiver can come with a lot of downtime after my residents are in bed. I had been looking for a hobby to get into and my mom had sent me a nice set of hooks and some of her yarn. And I have been “hooked”ever since. If it wasn’t for people like you who give free step by step tutorials I would never have picked up such a fun and relaxing hobby. I only wish there was more of a market for guys who crochet. I am a big and tall man and it is difficult finding patterns that I could crochet for myself. I would really love to be able to crochet myself a sweater eventually and other items if I can learn how to crochet in my sizes. Anyway thank you for all that you do. I look forward to your future videos.
Hi John! So nice to meet you, and I'm equally excited that you got into crochet. What an amazing use of your free time :-) I agree - it's tough to find big/tall men's wearable patterns. I'd search Ravelry for some men's patterns. You can narrow your search specifically to men's patterns.
Thanks Toni for another great yarn review. I bought 2 skeins of Winter Glow over a year ago but have yet to work with it. I think I do know which “fancy” yarn store yarn you are comparing it too as I bought one of the skeins to make a scarf I saw at at a yarn show (remember those from pre-pandemic life?) a while back. The color way and specs were spot on; only the printed label and price differed! While that is a knit project, my first love is crochet so I’d love more crochet patterns/recommendations for what to make with my second skein that I bought just cause the colorway called to me.
@@annafranklin6568 Lana Grossa Gomitomolo - I think it sold for $45 a skein, so that was a hard pass. The truth is most Commerical yarns are now made in Turkey or China and then different labels put on depending on the brand. My guess is after LG stopped carrying it, the mill that actually produces it shopped it around and Hobbii picked it up and renamed it. Bottom line is it’s a good yarn now selling for much less.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Just got my new Amour Clover crochet hooks! The hooks feel so good in the hand; and the hook really "slides" in and out of the stitches! Thank you so much for your help! You are treasured by needle workers.🧶
Hi -- I've been enjoying your productions, especially the yarn reviews. Please,, what is the stitch you're using at 5:25 here? Tysm & keep on stitchin...
Okay so I received my order from Hobbii and I got a few skeins of winter glow, TOTALLY agree about the centre pull thing! I couldn’t even find it and was not about to deal with yarn barf from such a huge ball, so I just pulled from the outside :( But their yarn called Carnival is so beautiful, I used it in place of Landscapes in your Mesa hat pattern and it came out lovely. I used Tweed Delight as well and so loved how puffy and voluminous it was.
Hi Toni, I have a bunch of half skeins of yarn and a lot of left over yarn, can you please make a video of suggestions with what we can do with left over yarn. Thank You
Thanks to your videos, I treated myself to a Prym hook, and oooooooh does it feel weightless. Depending on the yarn, I can work quicker and longer with it than with most hooks. (Gotta switch to my other ergonomic hooks with the metal business end for 100% cotton, because I feel the grippy-ness of cotton requires the slippy-ness of the metal)
Toni, thank you for another great video. I do love your videos! I've been crocheting off and on for years, but you inspire me to do more. I'm curious about the stitches you did on your first two or three swatches. I loved them. Do you have tutorials for them somewhere?
I will die on the hill of "center pull standard." I hate digging around for it. Thanks for the reviews on Hobbii yarn. I'm always curious how the yarn is going to feel.
I made my first sweater of this year with Divina. I loved how soft and light yet warm it was, but I'm not sure if I would purchase it again in the near future because (as you noted) it's quite a high maintenance product and it does evoke a bit of anxiety in me XD I think it's definitely a fantastic option for those who enjoy luxurious sweaters & take good care of them, but I'm just not that type. I was eyeing on Winter Glow Solid to make some leg warmers and hand warmers, and I made up my mind to purchase them in my next Hobbii order after watching your review! It's harder to find in-depth reviews for Hobbii products than products from, say, more social media friendly brands like WAK or WATG, so I'm happy that you keep making Hobbii review videos.

While that is a knit project, my first love is crochet so I’d love more crochet patterns/recommendations for what to make with my second skein that I bought just cause the colorway called to me.
Which fancy yarn store are you referring to! I've been trying to figure it out!
New Yarn Snob Reviews aaaahhhh 🥰🥰🥰
I bought two skeins of Winter Glow while it is on sale! I’m glad you reviewed it, I’m excited to work with it. I’m thinking a poncho!
Thank as always for your reviews. I always look out for these so I know if the yarn I’m drooling over is worth it.
Could you do some luxury/expensive or indie yarns? This 100% merino, mohair or cashmere yarns we have to splurge on?
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Just got my new Amour Clover crochet hooks! The hooks feel so good in the hand; and the hook really "slides" in and out of the stitches! Thank you so much for your help! You are treasured by needle workers.🧶
Very nice review of these yarns. I got the pop up and was eager to view while on my lunch break! Thank you!🥰
Winter Glow is the best yarn! Absolutely one of my top 3 favorites.
Hi -- I've been enjoying your productions, especially the yarn reviews. Please,, what is the stitch you're using at 5:25 here? Tysm & keep on stitchin...
Unfortunately, I'm allergic to wool, but the Cat. 6 spert bulky is my favorite. Thanks for the review, very informative & fun.
I have wool allergy as well
Loving watching this on my birthday 💖🧶
Great series as usual! What's the stitch used in the Highland Wool demo? Thx
oooooh that granny square was gorgeous!!
You're my favorite reviewer. Valuable info. Thank you.
Your center pull indicator soap box had me clapping 👏
I am with you on the centre-pull marker rant!
Hi Toni, I have a bunch of half skeins of yarn and a lot of left over yarn, can you please make a video of suggestions with what we can do with left over yarn. Thank You
I'm currently using the winter glow ,I'm loving the color and how it works up 😊
YOU are my most precious resource!!
That Umami yarns looks great, might end up getting myself some in the near future!
The winter glow is gorgeous!
I appreciate everything about these videos.
