It is strange to say that Federer fans have gone from a magnificent victory against Nadal in the semi-finals with tears of joy to a huge disappointment two days later. Federer took his revenge against Nadal at Wimbledon, he had an incredible level of play throughout the tournament. I do not even know if we realize how exceptional his performances are. At 38, he beats his biggest rival and, two days later, he was one point away from winning the game against Djokovic, it's crazy. This match will be a small consolation for fans of Federer after what happened next.

the way he hits with clearance is what makes him even greater unlike Hewitt, Agut, Djokovic, Alacaraz and other never say die players. The rest hit so low in trajectory, Nadal maxes all his abilities by giving himself every opportunity to stay in the point and when needed strike or put the ball in the best place. He plays by inches, a 3d chess master on the court. Fed is more a Samurai all out slash, weave, and pounce or dies by the sword from Nadal's thousand cuts. Only Borg vs Macca vs connors had this variety and match up on grass and for only one match Lendl vs Macca on clay. Here we had it all with only 2 playersfor so long.

I think it was after a Wimbledon final (I think the first final they faced each other) that Nadal said that Roger was one of his idols.
There is lots of mutual respect between those players.
It's a shame that their fans are constantly "fighting", it makes Rafa and Roger look bad.

Boris Lemeshev forgetting AO 2009 and "God, it's killing me"? Nadal always had respect for Fed but the other dude was forced to respect him. He was humbled by Nole also in the last decade. Have a look at some of his interviews around 2011 and how everything changed 2014 - present time.

This just proves why H2H is circumstantial.
In 2013 (worst year of Federer) they played 4 times, all won by Nadal, and again in AO 2014. But between AO 2014 and AO 2017 (3 years, the worst period of Nadal's career), they only played 1 time and Federer won. Not to mention the fact that they barely played at hard courts until 2009.

Perfecty explained dude...this happened in 2008 too....the same goes with the H2H against Djokovic, they didn't meet once in Djokovic's worst phase mid 2016 - mid 2018....when he came back into good form, the first thing he did was face Federer in Cincinnati Finals 2018 when Federer wasn't at his best..
