to be honnest, this match was a peak in term of physical ability but not tennistically. See how Novak hit much more closer to the line now, go to the net. To be honest this match was more about Novak choking tactically by refusing to go to the net and stop playing close to the lines combined with Rafa mental toughness than a close tennistically speaking encounter. Watch the video and see the difference between set 2, 3 and beginning and set 4 vs the remaining. Novak was the better player but played very central which allows Rafa to turn around his backhand. Nowadays, it is a no match on hard court because Rafa is not as fast as he used to and because Novak is able to kill a point more easily not because he hit a lot harder but because he is more precise. Also comparing Cincinati with the AO conditions is not fair as cincinati is a faster court than this AO and is also more exposed to wind. Thus, the precision of the shots can't be the same :p

Rafa having that break at the end when he looked empty, and the point he won down 15-30 in the last game was just insane. Also at 5-5 with Novak having the AD, Rafa unleashed a really good first serve that Novak just nonchalantly returns, just incredible. Then when it looked like Rafa would break back in the last game, Novak digs deep. I have never seen a match that intense all the way to the last point. It truly is the greatest match ever. I don't know how they played at that level at the end.
Greatest match ever
Exciting match!
all I have to say is G O A T Mr. Novak Djokovic!!! Wow what heart and mental fortitude!
One of the greatest tennis matches of all time. Perpetually awestruck every time I watch these highlights. Thank you, Nole and Rafa.
I remember being there, when Nadal won the 4th set, I said, “ history is about to happen” and it did. Greatest match ever.
one of the best duels of all time
This is the greatest match in tennis history the All time 👍
Greatest match of all time. Don’t listen to all the Brits who say it was Wimbledon 2008
djokovic playing 5 hrs and coming back from 2 sets down in the 5th set was absolutely mindblowing
2 legends
Djokovic at his ultimate best!!!! This one is easily his most unbeatable version by far
Yet still he barely squeezed through against Nadal on his favourite surface after 6 hours
@@yussepig6629he had nadal outclassed all 2011 and nadal gave his best effort to break the cycle in this match
@@tennisplayer5490what about rg 2012 2013. 2014 and USO 2010 and 2013 after this final.
What you don't see is that injuries wore down rafa after 2014 and until then he was very much ahead in terms of h2h and title records.
You should be lucky that injuries affected his body fitness to great extent. And that is why rafa will always be the greatest player in tennis because of the warrior spirit he brought despite facing career threatening injuries.
And than you're asking yourself how can they still compete with new generation in 2023, just look how they pushed each other in their prime. Legendary Rafa and Nole
I still cry when I saw this match.. the lost set ..
He wasn't the goat yet at this moment, but this was the moment he ascended to goat level tennis
This was the match after which Nadal fans hatred for Novak grew 1000 times harder. Novak already gain quite a good number of haters when he defeated Federer at the 2011 US Open finals. Novaks only fault was that he defeated their favorite player. Crowd, Commentators everyone wanted the flesh of Djokovic, crowd did their part by changing the momentum every way possible in the favor of their favorite player but as always Novak came up on top and owned the crowd.
🤓
You Djocovid fans are always playing the victim lmao. Maybe we don't like Djocovid because of his entitled attitude and the way he acts on the court. Does it suck when he beats Federer? Yeah, but that's not why I don't like him.
@@TheGodsMustBeCrazy SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE HOMIES IN THE BACK 💯
Back in the day the media used to try and brainwash everyone into thinking that Nole was the villain, and that there was only the big 2 until they couldn’t deny it anymore. 😂 I mean the fact that a press reporter once asked Nole if he feels like the villain just says it all. Nole is actually the most nice and down to earth person out of the big 3. So glad I came to decide who I liked the most for myself over the years though. Nole will always be my favourite now after all the sh*t he’s had to endure. The greatest player to ever pick up a racket.

GREATEST MATCH OF ALL TIME
Che meraviglia,che incontro,che intensità,che classe,che campioni...unici,leggende...
The most epic match in tennis history❤
They were literally, brutally beating down each others body’s, and trying to crush each others souls
Best final ever?
Best final ever !!
For the last ten years , almost every time NAdal is about to face Novak on hard or grass, he get injured and doesn’t play against him. He had not beaten Novak on hard nor grass in 10 years. Nadal chooses to face him only on clay, we’re clearly he has the edge. But novak is no p#ssy, he still faces him even if he doesn’t have the advantage.
I want you to know that Nadal vs djoko head to head is 29 to 30 to djoko I think the 29 wins for Nadal is not only on clay and he don't know If he has the advantage or not . Just watch tennis and shut up it is not for comparing the players it is for enjoyment . And F...K any fan like you stupid fans
💯
They seldom meet on grass. Nadal's last win on grass was in 2007
@@AliElBelihy l think they played 28 times on clay, so it's practically half exactly

How on earth can people be comparing Alcaraz with Djokovic after seeing a match like this? We will have to see how Alcaraz handles battles like this to begin to compare the two.
Not a tennis match but a legendary battle between these Giants
