Firemane Commando would be amazing in Jetmir and probably would replace a higher mana cost card draw piece I have in the deck. If I'm playing Zombies, Sidisi gets the nod over Hoarding Broodlord every time. Thanks again for the conversation! I want to share my thoughts on your video! kami war, child of alara, 5c battles/gates could be cool with sac or blink. Render inert and price of betrayal can flip some battles quickly. My favorite battle has been Invasion of Ikoria. The front is ok, and I dont mind casting it to grab a 2 or 3 drop, though x=5 for a praetor or beast/dino potentially ends the game, especially if you grab a haste creature. Invasion of new phyrexia looks cool as a control piece to use with something like errant + giada, and flips into the new teferi. I usually wouldnt look this closely at a new teferi or UW control strategy, but its a beat down aggro / tempo interest that I have. Humans, and soldiers have had some good synergy cards in the past two sets. I also like these battles, and spells that make multi colored tokens. I see some potential for some splashy convoke spells with the right set of cards, especially for something like token decks, and the 3+ color decks. I think convoke seems worth exploring for more efficient fixing, getting additional value out of sacrificed creatures, and taking advantage of bounce/blink mechanics for ramp. Hoarding Broodlord has an awesome synergy with convoke, and it even has an awesome tribal type of dragon. HB is interesting to me for the spells in exile have convoke clause. That is ANY spell in exile Prosper fans. Not only does it seem to work with foretell and dream devourer, but it also looks cool to use with impulse draw effects that exile spells to cast, like light up the stage, wrenn's resolve, etc.

Scroll Rack and Lim Dul's vault are great ways to help Dance With Calamity. Also Insidious Dreams is a neat way to stack your library. Lastly I think Neera Wild Mage would be a great commander for that kind of card.

I think that the Invasion Tree would be decent in a theft style deck or a mill deck, since it doesn't have to take one of the tree cards that are milled. I wouldn't substitute it for a mana rock, though
One thing about realmbreaker that idk if yall mentioned or if it's been mentioned at all, it goes in any creature deck that also has blue. Arcane adaptation and mask wood nexus dump your whole library of creatures
Side note, Faerie Mastermind can actually draw up to 9 cards per turn cycle. Each opponent can trigger it every turn. (Probably not likely, but worth mentioning lol)
Maybe fyi, but seems important to me at least- Sunfall resolves giving you an Incubator token with 10 counters in it, NOT a 10/10 Phyrexian artifact token. You still need to spend 2 colorless to transform it. This is super important imo. If it just created a 10/10 token, it could easily dtr over the next 3 turns. This way you can hold on to the token with two mana up and possibly transform at the end step of the player on your right. Seems better than cards like phyrexian rebirth that just create a token right away. That being said, you’d need yo watch for the opponent who holds up mana for that end step trigger!
The intended downside for Firemane Commando is that your opponents can attack Planeswalkers and Battles. It is basically a life preservation tool at best.
The one issue I have with the idea that Rashmi and Ragavan not being scary because you should build around the commander and that is, I’m ‘afraid’ of what’s in my deck too. I don’t want you to have the powerful cards I have in my deck.
Marneus Calgar does not say CREATE its says "Whenever one or more tokens enter the battlefield under your control, draw a card." It works with both modes of See Double (if you target a permanent spell).
Tribute to The World Tree goes in Jinnie Fay. All tokens become 3/1 dogs and draw a card or 4/4 cat with haste after the counters. Tendershoot dryad or Dragonlair Spider and let the reign of cats and dogs begin.
I have three tribal decks and a control deck. None of the battles make sense in my decks, at least not compared to their monetary price, but I'm interested to see how they play in other decks in my playgroup. In Commander, the extra damage that is being thrown at a battle instead of someone's face is less impactful than in Standard, and there are battles that are worth flipping in Standard, so I expect that more battles will be worth flipping in Commander. Also note that people will be less willing to chump-block to protect a battle than to protect their Planeswalkers and life totals.
The thing that I don’t think Richard got with Faerie Mastermind vs Spirited Companion argue ment is that Faerie Mastermind has flash. So you have enough layer of saying I might have a counterspell and unlike spirited companion, yes it ETB and draws and you a card , but you can flash Yuta in to response from your opponent casting the card draw spell so you now played a flash flying spirited companion that can draw more cards.
@@BrewersKitchen ah ok. I thought you guys meant the second ability on see double wouldn’t work with it. Also as a side note, thank you for the reply phil. All you guys are awesome, but I definitely feel like I relate to you the most with what everyone prefers to play and how they think about the game!
36:20 For Realmbreaker and other theft cards the problem of loosing your stuff is not great, but not as bad as it sounds. If you are ahead and start killing people you kill them in order of threat level so by the time it is a 1v1 you are left with the weakest player. They usually have almost no cards in hand or permanents. You can usually beat them quite easily.
Faerie Mastermind is half as strong as Rhystic, but I do have a question. If someone plays a sign in blood do you negate or mastermind. That's the true test.
I personally still see Farewell as being Far more powerful than Sunfall. As the cardpool in commander gets more diverse, any individual card slot gets more valuable, and we don't always have regular playgroups we can customize our decks for/against. Versatility, especially in removal is only going to get increasingly valuable, this is why I'll always pick a destroy/exile "target permanent" card over a Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares any day (except in cedh where I would run all of the above). I'd rather have a 3 mana card that can target and destroy a creature, artifact, or enchantment combo piece, than one mana removal that is totally useless against a diversity of decks.
Realmbreaker is in my Nngthrod deck. It totally works with mill, adding land left to the mill value on top of creatures and artifacts. The kicker, run mask wood nexus because everyone's a horror AND praetor if you believe hard enough.
Rashmi and Ragavan definitely seems like it belongs as the commander of just a generic temur deck that can produce an okay amount of treasure or artifacts. Trying to buid around her with memory lapse's and lantern of insight is going to get you killed very fast.
richard has never been so wrong about a card as with faerie mastermind. That card is so good. it is not even out yet, (got one at per-release) and it is so good. I draw like 2 cards per turn around the table. its so powerful.
Tribute to the World Tree is a bit of a better Renata. I run Pir and Toothy and like to draw cards. I also have a problem that they come out as 1/1s. Do I replace Renata? Do I replace a cantrip? Too many new good counters matters cards. What do
The best commander for that is might be Gandalf. All you need is a single Solve The Equation to enter into the combo. If it’s expensive, you have Dockside(you’re already playing red).
Wrath Tier List is something that you should do. There seems to be a wide variety between your groups opinions as shown by the lack of respect for Sunfall. I would love to hear Seth/Tomer/Crim/Phil (not Richard) talk about what your actual top 5 in each color would be.
I think they are seeing Realmbreaker tree from the wrong perspective. With how easy it is to create tons of mana nowadays that cards actually should be seing as: Pay 13 mana, put all your preators from the deck into your battlefield (in a pentacolor deck). you don't evn care about the first mode. just keep the tree in your hand until you have 13 mana available.
One comment in favor of realmbreaker (very situational) but if you have a lot of lands matters in the meta and they want to loop fetches you can take them crack them and they are exiled.
Realm breaker: 5 mana for 1 land 7 mana for 2 lands 9 mana for 3 lands... It's just never a good return compared to other options. Only reason to play it is if playing a mill strategy already or leveraging the Praetor side.

Can Hoarding Broodlord be convoked by an encore ability?? I'm wondering if this can work in my Araumi deck.
Dance of Calamity + Birgi / Urabrask = Tons of cards and floating mana
Or combo with Thoracle in Gandalf.
@@satansamael666 no one likes thassa's oracle
@@wesleywyndam-pryce5305 what? How is that even remotely relevant?
Realm breaker goes in a maskwood nexus deck to grab every creature in your deck for 13 mana is how this janklord reads it ❤😊
I can dig it
Isn't Realmbreaker a bad Sword of Hearth and Home? But with less repeated cost...
Just cast it to find Invasion of Alara..... sounds cool :)
Do battles need to be dealt dammage to be flipped? If not child of alara as a commander would be quite good
They do.
1:16:00 Phil: ¿Por qué no los dos?
Omnath locus of Rage wants Tribute to the world tree. Extra draw effect plus insanely scary paired with scute swarm.
This is the DREAM cast. Damn... I can't wait until this is the active Commander Clash crew. I will watch every episode twice.
Looking forward to Broodlord with my fancy galaxy foil Cut in Half 💫
Now your exiled spells have convoke TWICE
Now your exiled spells have convoke TWICE
Wouldn’t see double work with doubling season?
The second ability yes, the first one no. It has to say "Create Token" to work with Season. (As far as I understand it at least)
@@Ghostly81199 Thank you ☺
36:20 For Realmbreaker and other theft cards the problem of loosing your stuff is not great, but not as bad as it sounds. If you are ahead and start killing people you kill them in order of threat level so by the time it is a 1v1 you are left with the weakest player. They usually have almost no cards in hand or permanents. You can usually beat them quite easily.
5:20 impressive retention from Seth fr.
With wand you use x spells that create tokens especially at instant speed then use those creatures to cast a second relevant spell.
What is more consistent draw? Sygg river cut throat or Faerie Mastermind?
Faerie Mastermind is half as strong as Rhystic, but I do have a question. If someone plays a sign in blood do you negate or mastermind. That's the true test.
1:39:36 breakdance with calamity
Jeska's Will into Dance of Calamity seems fun, if random. High variance, but cool.
Child of Alara for the battles deck. Jam out all the battles, play child of alara to destroy them all at once. That could be a thing.
Firemane Commando stacks really nicely with Breena
richard has never been so wrong about a card as with faerie mastermind. That card is so good. it is not even out yet, (got one at per-release) and it is so good. I draw like 2 cards per turn around the table. its so powerful.
That's good to hear 🤩 I opened one at the Prerelease and threw it in my Lonis deck. Didn't get to play with it yet
tribute to the world tree is being so slept on
Especially with reanimation or convoke nonsense. Hoga’ak be liking it as the heavy dredge machine.
Faerie mastermind with howling mine is amazing draw 3 every turn cycle around table
To breake Dance white calamity have to count the total CmC of our hand plus cementary, and then now the total of the deck. playing 0 to 13 total
I'm so high on Guardian Scalelord. Going in every deck that I'm running Sun Titan in, and is even better in a couple I think.
Would you run both in most decks?
Tribute to the World Tree is a bit of a better Renata. I run Pir and Toothy and like to draw cards. I also have a problem that they come out as 1/1s. Do I replace Renata? Do I replace a cantrip?
Too many new good counters matters cards. What do
No one mentions izzet storm (mizzix/vadryk) for hour of calamity. Single red dcon into thoracle.
I’d prefer something more akin to the removal tier list
Seth: I never pay the 1 for rhystic study on principal
Also Seth: Faerie Mastermind is busted right?
Fairie mastermind is a fairie and rogue, relevant.
However I think the card is best in draw matters decks. Nekusar, or Xyris?
Rashmi/Ragavan Lantern
I think they are seeing Realmbreaker tree from the wrong perspective. With how easy it is to create tons of mana nowadays that cards actually should be seing as: Pay 13 mana, put all your preators from the deck into your battlefield (in a pentacolor deck). you don't evn care about the first mode. just keep the tree in your hand until you have 13 mana available.
One comment in favor of realmbreaker (very situational) but if you have a lot of lands matters in the meta and they want to loop fetches you can take them crack them and they are exiled.
Also faeirie mastermind is better with all the other draw spells. So a turn one esper sentinel on the field makes the mastermind that much better
22:36 wait.... is this good enough for high tide ?
The best battle commander for the battle cards is Omnath, Locus of All !
Ya know what I wanna see? A podcast where the crew asks for cards that listeners made, and they rate them in likelihood they’d play them.
Realm breaker:
5 mana for 1 land
7 mana for 2 lands
9 mana for 3 lands...
It's just never a good return compared to other options. Only reason to play it is if playing a mill strategy already or leveraging the Praetor side.
I never find this way of evaluating cards useful. There’s a significant difference when that mana is being spread out of multiple turns.
Is faerie mastermind better than ledger shredder?
I am 💯 putting dance with calamity in my prosper deck we gotta risk it for the biscuit to get those wins
Battles are not enchantments right??? Doesn't say enchantment anywhere on the type line. Right?
