Digital sensors are natively supported in CADIO platform. you can easily add digital sensors to your unit, and use them to monitor their status, or send orders to your devices to create an automation.
In this video, we will add 4 sensors to the ESP8266, the IR sensor, the MQ-5 gas sensor, the PIR motion sensor, and the door sensor.
every sensor VCC is connected to the VCC, GND to GND, and the data output pin is connected to an ESP GPIO.
The MQ-5 has 2 output pins, digital and analog. We will use the digital output pin.
The door sensor has only 2 pins, we will connect one of them to the ESP GPIO, and the other to the GND, and add a pullup resistor between the ESP GPIO and the VCC.
To add sensors to your unit, all you need to do is add them to the info file devices table, and select their device type as sensor, and select their GPIOs.
they will appear on the app interface as sensors without any details, we should now rename them, and select their icons.
Some sensors' data output pin is turned to HIGH when activated, and some to LOW, we can set the sensor mode to inversed to correct its status.
Now let's test the sensors!
The IR sensor is working, and when I move my hand over it, it activates!
when the MQ-5 gas sensor smells any gas, it activates and appears in the application!
The door sensor status also works, and updates very fast.
we can make the sensors send orders to our controllable devices, from the orders section we create some orders, and simply save it! and it will start working immediately!
We can make the sensors send orders to any other unit linked to our account.
For example, I will make the IR sensor send orders to an RGB device, which is on another ESP32 unit.
we can set notifications to be pushed when the sensor status is changed, I will now tell CADIO to send me notification when the gas sensor is activated!

Help, I have 8 door sensors and like you I put the 10k resistor on each GPIO Y VCC(5V), as shown in this video, what happens is that esp8266 on the breadboard with external power does not work correctly, why is that? It doesn't connect to Wi-Fi, configuration mode doesn't work either. It only works in isolation without any connected components. I can contact you. Thank you

How can we get MQ-5 sensors analog output values in CADIO

In the current version, the supported sensors are the digital sensors "with high/low digital output". For the mq-5 you can use the digital output, you can adjust the sensitivity using the sensor built-in potentiometer.
Supporting analog sensors will be token into consideration during the discussion of future developments.

What do you mean with "link two devices" exactly?
In a real world scenario these devices might not be this close to each other. How can multiple esp devices be used with cadio? One device in living room/one door sensor in another room.
You can link an unlimited number of units to your account, To add multiple units, just repeat what you did for the first unit
