This game brings back so many memories. I used to literally make my father play this game with me every single day right after I woke up or I’d like throw a fit, I loved it that much. Literally the game that taught me to love video games
FINALLY someone who agrees that MP8 is the best mario party game Also, the music is so good?? I'd sit on this specific board and just listen to the music on repeat as a kid. Same with a lot of the other tracks in the game
Let me tell you a story about Rockman Zero Modern Day's Star Battle Arena experience with Princess Peach in Mario Party 8. Things went very off-script as board after board of turmoil and tragedy weighing on and crushing Princess Peach/ Rockman Zero, she couldn't handle it any longer in the unrecorded video clip. You know, her third attempt of Star Battle Arena seemed very promising, as she squeaked out a win for once against her rival Boo in DK's Treetop Temple. However, things went off the rails again with Dry Bones in Goomba's Booty Boardwalk. Things seem to stabilize once again with Daisy, as her second rival. As it goes: Coins are the way of the wave, and Peach came to Captain Goomba with more than enough coins to get a victory against Princess Daisy, the princess of Sarsaland. Waluigi (a.k.a Proton Jon), Princess Peach's former wife in Mario Party 7, has came back with a vengeance inside King Boo's Haunted Hideaway! Proton Jon (Waluigi): Rockman Zero, you and me! Right now! In the Haunted Hideaway! Rockman Zero (Princess Peach): (gulps, and sweats in fear) Later... Proton Jon (Waluigi): (Just keeps going the wrong way and getting pitfalled) Rockman Zero (Princess Peach): (facepalm and worried) Bad luck just had to have to strike you down a few times, doesn't it, Waluigi? No surprise. I won that board easily. However, my blood pressure began to rise on the fourth board when a certain opponent named Toadette appears and nearly swept her on Shy Guy's Perplex Express... I had reset out of fear. Her opponent was Toad (Emile). This is perfectly what she's been waiting for. Having to reject Candy hurts, and rolling big coin numbers are the chances. Little did Toad (Emile) knew that landing on the Duel Space was: That luck won't be on his side any longer... I pulled a Luigi wins by doing nothing on a luck minigame. I ended up sweeping Toad with coins to spare! Little did Rockman Zero knew... that her opponents would steal her hotels under her nose in Koopa's Tycoon Town, so, I had resetted until I get my desired rival. My rival was Birdo. You knew what happened. Birdo got swept by 2 Star Steals from a hotel, yet again. What a surprise! Bowser had stolen the Star Rod! It's up to Peach to get it back from Bowser, with Blooper being her final rival in Bowser's Warped Orbit! Things went much more smoothly as there was no bad luck against her, and things had been rough for her, so the game mellowed out with her. MC Ballyhoo: That candy did the trick! Peach (does winning animation): Go, Peach! Ha! Blooper: I'm sorry... I've failed...
This Mario Party was my first ever Mario Party. And while my personal favorite is Mario Party DS, this one is also quite solid! …though that’s probably my nostalgia talking. Even still, however, Mario Party 8 did a lot of experimental stuff, and a lot of it was really cool! Final verdict: certainly better than 9 and onward. An absolute banger game. I love M.C. Ballyhoo.
8 easily is the worst MP, the boards are too flat and linear and feel too derivative of 7 while the entire game feels too similar to 7 while at the same time offering a much lesser experience, also the candy item is easily the weakest item system in the series

My favorite board is the haunted house that keeps randomizing itself. Most unique in the series.
