TRG Highlights: The Runaway Guys vs Mario Party 8

- Another TRG Mario Party LP has concluded, which means it is time for the next installment of the TRG vs Mario Party series. When I did the poll on who should get the focus for Mario Party 8, I seriously did not expect such close results (between all three of them or just Emile). Just like with all Mario Party vs videos, I made sure to include as many unlucky moments (ranging from mild to very) that either Jon, Tim, and especially Emile experienced individually or as a group (with other moments for the lulz).

I'd agree that it's really satisfying when you leave Payday Waystation to get back on the train, then immediately land on the lucky space to get back there

Pretty much how I felt. I don't like Mario Party 8, but this LP was fun to watch.

@@thefiresworddragon927 No it's just that they complained about Mario party 8 being the most uneventful version Mario party and yet they had a lot of fun.
It was honestly pretty hard to enjoy this LP with them bitching about everything in this game every 5 minutes. This game does have its flaws, but it isn't that bad.
Tim's triple 7 at 3:39 is, in my opinion, the best moment of the entire LP. Everyone's reactions, especially Emile's, are just amazing. In fact, I think Emile's reaction at that moment rivals some of his best freakouts from his own channel, such as Groudon in a Nest Ball and obtaining the Casual Coral.
I don’t think they will EVER top this moment. Bout the only way is if everyone, including the AI, got triple 7.

This LP had some great moments for sure, like the Cut from the Team moments with Emile winning by doing nothing, Jon’s great moments of frustration and maniacal laughter as well as Tim and his crazy luck!

It's a shame they don't really like this one. This is one of my favorite Mario Parties! Though I only ever play with CPUs like a loser so that might have something to do with it.

It was my first ever Mario Party game so I have a lot of nostalgia with it.
I also played with only CPU’s since I had no friends who played Nintendo games in elementary or middle school.

I like to think that the game from here on out, particularly in Tycoon Town, the last turn of Warped Orbit, and the leftover duels, is him getting karma'd for it. This wouldn't even be the only time something like that's happened to him either.

It's kind of odd that the guy who complains the most vocally about a) rotten luck and b) the terrible aspects of the game is the one who gets the best luck and fares the best overall. Granted, Jon probably has the most raw skill of the group, so I certainly can't deny he's good enough to win.

Wow Emile's playing as Toad again and his luck knows no bonds really after getting rid of Daisy he's really used Toad as a plunger to unCLOCK his luck IN THE BATHROOM
I felt bad for Tim the entire time they played it. He had so many *super lucky moments* for him and he didn’t even get a win (unless I’m misremembering and he did win at least one)

2 months late but the NES bttf song is actually the power of love by Huey Lewis and the News but sped up to ridiculous speed because they couldn't get the soundtrack for the game bloody copyright rules being weird back then where u could get copyright of the movie for the game but the music is separate because why the f not

I believe for the first Punch A Bunch match, it just maps the winner to player 1 if 2 players consecutively win the game

I am too many years late, but the reason why tim kept winning that shake mini game is because waluigi is taller than Yoshi, so Jon’s start point is higher than Tim’s, so it looks like Jon wins, but Tim actually has the taller “stream” if measured from can to top

Boy, Emile's luck really was a rollercoaster in this LP after Shy Guy's Perplex Express. Then in Koopa's Tycoon Town, it became nonexistent.

I'll admit, the game wasn't the greatest, but where it was polished, it REALLY shined. The endings to the minigames were incredibly clever.

In the Nick of Time, worst Mario Party mini game ever apparently. Jon would rather play Cheep Cheep Chase from 3 (THAT WAS TOTAL BUUUUUUUULLLLLLSHIIIIIIIT!) than have to play that again.

The only reason Tim won the Shake It Up minigame is because Waluigi is taller and probably off scale
