Awesome and informative video! Just bought the FX30 this morning. My first "real camera"
That’s amazing! You will love it. Be honest, have you put it down yet? 😄
@@darpinomedia9619 I ordered it this morning from best buy it comes next Wednesday. I'm definitely excited. But when it comes. I'll never put it down lol
@@jakenotfromstatefarm ah dang. Congrats though!
@@darpinomedia9619 thank you! I just stumbled across your channel definitely got my subscription! Thank you!
This might be a dumb question but do you turn the stabilization completely off when using the gimbal? I wasn't sure if it might give it some added stability
For Real Estate shoots, the Laowa 9mm zero distortion lens, is amazing must have on a crop sensor camera. Also, when it's on a gimbal the setup is much more manageable than a full frame camera.
Great video man, well done!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! Totally agree about the setup being lighter. I’ll have to check out that lens. I used the laowa 7.5 mm when I was using the black magic pocket 4K and it was great.
Great Video Man! I was on the fence about the fx30 as my second camera. I shoot real estate too and thought that it might be a good fit. You've convinced me not just with your words but with your content. Much appreciated. I'm out of Philly. Not to far.
I appreciate that so much. I’m glad I could help! Also, yea that awesome, Philly isn’t to far at all
Thankyou...hoping to hear more user experiences from you.. watching from Nairobi, Kenya
You are very welcome! That’s so cool, absolutely I will be making more content.
Hi, love your stuff. I do real estate as well. I live in indoor light. Love the fx30 though, dont have one but trying to see if it is doable. Thanks again for the video. Awesome!
You are welcome. 🤙 and thank you 🙏
This is good stuff! I agree with you a lot, I've been using the FX30 over my A7IV for my last few home tours. New Sub here, looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you so much for the sub! The FX30 is great right?
@@darpinomedia9619 Yes sir! For the price and what it offers, the value is unmatched.
Very nice video, could you please make a video on how to properly film a home, preferably a home with bad lighting and different color rooms, that would be very helpful because I’m not sure how to properly film, what angles to film at. Also you got my subscription 😊
I could probably do something 😊
Yes please!!!!!!!
love your video's and content! I just bought the FX30 aswell, beautiful camera. How do you expose correctly when using the base iso's? And with color grading, do you use the Sony 709 lut? Maybe you can a tutorial how you expose + color grade your footage :D ? Best, from Amsterdam
Thank you so much. So basically anything 800iso or under I will use the aperture or an ND to get the exposure right. If I need the iso to go higher I do the same. If I need to go higher than 2500 it’s basically flexible iso instead of cine EI. I use the phantom luts then adjust from there.
@@darpinomedia9619 thanks for the info man! Don't understand how you got only 1.81k subs. Do you recommend the Phantom Luts? I see a lot people use them, and than the 'Film Look Pack' or 'Arri Look Pack' ?
@@justinlosekoot6389 of course! No problem. Honestly I’m just happy anyone wants to listen to me ramble lol. If I can help a few people then that’s awesome. I do recommend the phantom luts for sure. Most luts I’ve bought I end up not being happy with. But the phantom luts and buttery luts I’ve always had great success with.
great video, id love to see you talk about how to use Cine ei in your real estate workflow maybe for your next video?
Thank you so much. It’s funny you say that because I actually was planning to do a video about that!
I am very undecided if I buy that camera, I have a Sony A6100, I have sigma 16mm f1.4 and 30mm f1.4 lenses. I am not sure if it can work well with those lenses. Do you think I will have a drastic change?
Hi there!!! Thanks for the amazing review! Just what I need to hear!
Can you help me with this? Do you think is a good camera for outdoors and Dust or rain?? Thanks for your experience!!!
You are welcome! It is rated to be weather sealed so id imagine it would be good. The fan gives me some reservations, but I'm sure they factored that design into the weather sealed designation.
@@darpinomedia9619 thanks for your answer!!!! Suscribed to your channel since today!
Thanks for your helpful video. I would like to ask how to choose between Sony 10-18mm and Laowa 8-16mm in real estate videos.❤❤
@@hanshengbai8105 don’t have any experience with the Laowa but the 10-18 is dope! I’d still consider the 11mm 1.8 through. F4 is a little slow for some real estate
@@darpinomedia9619 Thanks for your answer, I will buy it
Great video man! I shoot tons of real estate and switched over to the Sony family. This looks like it’d be a great option as a secondary backup cam for me!
Thanks man 🤙. It really is a perfect second cam. But can definitely operate as a main cam in my opinion
@@darpinomedia9619 agreed! I currently shoot with the a7siii and the a7rv for RE. But was wanting to get a backup but you’re absolutely correct I agree you can totally solo with just this cam-impressive!
Nice video. Have you done any RE stills with the camera? I know you cannot use a flash. However, I believe you can bracket
I haven’t tried any photo for real estate. I’d imaging it would do a decent job. You can bracket
Thank you for this video! Subbed and happy to do so!
I appreciate that!
Have you tried using the Sony PZ 10-20mm f/4 G Lens on either the FX30 or A7IV? It would be awesome to get your thoughts on it for Real Estate Videos
I haven’t tried it yet. My only concern was the f4 because I do find myself needing to go down to f2-2.8 at times. I like to try and stay at the base ISO’s. But I’d love to try it
I know you sold fx30, but how did you expose your slog for real estate on this camera....looking for tips to get best dynamic range
Hi Darpino, Thanks a lot for this informative video -- I really liked the closeup shots you did with the FX30. At this point, I am not sure whether it is best to keep my Zhiyun Crane 2 for the next few years or upgrade to the RS3 Pro. I have had the Zhiyun Crane 2 since 2018 and have been using it to make walking videos -- feel free to check them out on my channel. It is calibrated nicely to compensate for sudden turn movements (good amount of deadband). Though the micro jitters and z axis bounce movement can bother me sometimes -- especially on intense hikes.
I am wondering in your opinion whether it is worth it to upgrade from the Zhiyun Crane 2 to the DJI RS3 Pro?
Hey, it’s mostly a feeling thing. Do you feel like you are no longer getting what you want out of the crane? I can tell you that the new tech in the RS3 system is definitely great. But it’s hard to justify upgrading unless there is a particular reason that is making your job harder.
@@darpinomedia9619 Do you think the deadband problem on the RS3 will ever be fixed? I need a lot of deadband because I naturally twitch my hands while walking in my videos.
For my videos, although the Crane 2 is pretty outdated, it still does an excellent job at absorbing my hand twitches with its deadband forgiveness. The main thing that bothers me with the Crane 2 is that it still has micro jitter isssues -- it would be the perfect gimbal for me if it was more smooth and somehow absorbed the Z-Axis movement (aka bounces).
I am worried even though the RS3 is much more technologically advaned, it will be a step back with regards to raw stabilization performance and deadband like I mentioned above.
@@VeeTravels hmmm, yea I’m not sure. I haven’t really experienced any problems with that. But I’d say if what you have is working, don’t upgrade. I’d only upgrade if you aren’t getting the results you really need.
@@darpinomedia9619 Interesting. I would welcome any thoughts you have on my most recent videos :)
For travel video, mini docs, and personal use which video looks better - fx30 or a7iv
Hmmm, that’s a tough call. A7IV edges the fx30 out a bit on my opinion. Only because of the slight dynamic range difference. But it comes down to budget and lenses you want or need. Also, if you plan to do any XLR mic audio the fx30 is a no brainer. But if you need hybrid with great photos, A7IV is the winner.
Thanks, king
You are welcome! Also, that name is 🔥. I’m jealous.
If I will have a z9. Would you choose this for a 4k 60 2nd cam? A1 as far as I know doesn't over sample in FF mode or very little, but in APSC mode , they both do I from 6k. Is it better to shoot in FF with a 2.8 lens or in APSC with a 1.8 lens? I know it gathers about the same amount of light , but an APSC footage I saw it that it just the same sensor on infromation but with more light, but in full frame it looks it actually using the whole sensors capabilities. I don't know if that makes sense, but can't decide how much less sharp is FF 4k 60, cause as far as I know , non of Sony FF cameras do 4k 60 with over or downsampling. Or just very very little.would you go with fx30 fx3 a7s3 or a1 if you have the money next to z9 and iphone 14 pro or Xiaomi 12s ultra? Also would you go a1 or recantlty leaked R5 Mk2? Thank in advance. I do photography though , but i much more video centric ;)
Great video thanks 👍
Thank you and you are welcome
Hello, what about the filesize, for the small clip, each room, how much filesize? Thanks
Depends on the size of the house and the codec you are shooting with. I shoot with the XAVC-HS codec and I’m usually filming around 5-8gb of footage
That's helpful. Thanks!!!
What would be the optimal lense to use the FX30 as the video production workhorse for real estate videos. I have a full frame A7IV for the photo side so no need for dual purpose lenses.
I’d say you have a few options. The Tamron 11-20, Sony 10-20, or Sony 11mm
@@darpinomedia9619 Thanks for the input! I will check those options out, leaning towards the song glass options!
Excellent video. I have the FX30, and yes I think it's a great camera as well. Especially for the price point. I don't think you could find another camera for $1,798 USD that shoots with a 6K sensor downsampled to 4K, and comes with timecode and the ability to shoot 16-bit raw externally. And yes, not as good - as full frame - does not mean "not good", as you said. And I've seen pro colorists take FX30 footage and grade it as easily as they could with any higher end camera with professional results.
Absolutely, we have reached a point that having professional quality is now available to everyone. Composition, story and lighting is what everyone should focus on
what about the Fujifilm Xs20?
Can you PLEASE show us how to set up these options. Your video was insanely hard to catch which buttons you’re pressing to get to these options! 😢
I could do that for sure!
On Cine EI you cant shoot on AWB you keep adjusting the kelvin?
Yes I usually adjust based on the room.
Hello can i ask how do you set the AF for your real estate videos? Thanks
I usually use zone AF for house shots and eye AF for agent talking
I’m confused about what lens to buy for real estate business. Between Sony 11mm f1.8 or Sigma 10-18mm f2.8? Note that camera body I’m using is Sony A6700
Your advice is appreciated. Thanks
@@elaroussinoureddine9801 I love the versatility of the 10-18. But I think you would really benefit from the 1.8 aperture for low light situations. You could probably get by with the 2.8 though. You might need to shoot in 24fps in some scenarios
@@elaroussinoureddine9801 if it’s your only lens and you need to use it for other projects as well, the 10-18 might be a safe bet. But if you have other lenses and you are just buying it specifically for real estate, I’d go for the 11mm
@@darpinomedia9619 thanks for your replies, I got a Sony GMii 24-70mm f2.8 and Sigma 30mm F1.4.
So I’m planning to break into real estate business. So, a wide lens is a must as you know. But, I don’t know if f1.8 is really needed for real estate environment.
@@elaroussinoureddine9801 I gotcha. Definitely not needed. But I was happy to have it in a lot of situations where I used it. You could find a way around it though. You will do great with either.
@@darpinomedia9619 thanks man. One last question, how is the distortion factor on it? And how do you fix it?
Photos I shoot at f8. Do you go all the way down to f1.8 for real estate videos with the 11?
Yea I mostly keep it around f4 if I can. But if I need to get the shot and I’m already at 2500iso, I’ll drop it down. Keep in mind this isn’t a full frame camera so the depth of field isn’t as shallow at f2 or 1.8
@@darpinomedia9619 right now I use the f4 10/18 Sony lens so I was debating if I really had to get this 11mm lens
Also I don’t really go higher than 1600 iso
I've only just come across this video. Great job! Very concise and a real time saver.
My question regarding shooting for real estate: Because my work is primarily doing marketing for a systems integrator, that means most of my (video) projects will involve going into dusty conditions to capture both the "before and after" aspects of my work. How well does the camera cope under such conditions? Also, since I will also be shooting a lot of stuff regarding cinemas and very dark control or equipment rack rooms, should I still consider the FX30 or should I be looking at stepping down to the ZV-E1 or upgrading to the FX3 instead? Thanks in advance!
X2😂 🤘🏻✨
what write speed do I need on an SD card for filming 4k 60p at your settings?
I use the San disk extreme pro 200mb/s cards. Don’t have any issues.
Is that the 11mm 1.8 ??
Yes it is
Nice Video my friend…Can you help me in my journey into Real Estate Videography and so do choosing my Camera in tight budget…
I’d love to. The best practice is to find your budget and make sure you can afford everything you need within that. That’s means, gimbal, camera body, lens/lenses, sd cards, audio etc…. Most all modern cameras will get the job done. You could even start with just a phone
@@darpinomedia9619 ...Firstly It's so kind of you my friend..Nice Human Soul ..
