- Greg is back with the Killer Retro Clod project build and gets it wrapped up in this video so you don't have to wait any longer to see the final result. In this video, he gets the rest of the electronics wrapped up, tires glued up, body mounted and then shows you how cool this fun project build looks. But that's not all, Greg takes the truck out for a quick run so you can see it move and hear the classic Tamiya ClodBuster sound!

My little grandson is already saving his allowance money that he earns helping grandpa planting flowers for grandma's.And while he is saving up he is enjoying my old original Clod Buster.He just doesn't know parts are already ordered,as long as he keeps his grades up I'm sure he and I will be building one that he can make great memories with as I did with mine.

@@jamesmccabe8736 I was little in the 80's, mom amd dad went to yard sales and that's where I got my rc's from. And of course nes games amd slot car sets. Those were good times.

a good thing to show us is how you found where the body post go though on a pre painted body, we all know how to mount radio/sticker and other simple things like that
exactly, was thinking the same thing, is there an easy way to mount a pre painted body?
I own a Bullnose Ford F150 and when I see that body style on RC trucks it makes me happy to see a great generation of pickup being recognized.

Absolutely love my two Regulator trucks. My Bigfoot currently leads the Trigger King RC Retro points standings with my Grave Digger in second right behind it. Fantastic kits, fun to build, and turns your stock clodbuster into a well rounded performance racer.

BADASS!!!! - great video......it's really cool that TAMIYA kits are still relevant and i guess there are people still around that have the patience and want to take and or have the time to build these vehicles from the company that is proven and has stood the test of time... they are not for everybody , but i guess for me i will always think they are great and also because the first r/c that i ever built was a TAMIYA Subaru brat...

Great build. I love the look. You can use WD40 on the tires to get all that mold residue off. Makes them look awesome!

In my opinion the lack of rear steer and dual shocks on all 4 corners takes away from what makes a Clod a Clod. That said, RC is all about doing what you love and customizing so good on ya for that.

Totally agree. Its in the blood. All scepticism and sinicism goes out the window when your wheeling a clod. Ive ordered the jconcepts chassis, bushings and servo mount, also some nice 120 mm dampers. Ive found 8x dampers but only 4 (soft) springs hits the mark for feel and aesthetics. Ive also ordered a couple of prepaintes bodies and the 880 hobbywing. It looks like that is the only decent dual motor esc on the market. Thanks for the review. Im pumped to biuld and thrash the lights out of mine.

What ball bearing kit would you recommend?
Always use Team Fast Eddy for bearings.
aw, I was looking forward to seeing it with all the shocks and softer springs! I'm really not a fan of the bouncyness - it brings back too many aweful memories of racing Tamiya's 30 years ago... I came to see upgrades and "what it would've been like"! hah :)
they painted it ?!?! Was hoping to see the tips on getting that paint style when i first saw it on the channel. I got one of those bodies . . . clear . . . need painting instructions so i can get the same look with a different color.
Would the shocks work in the back mounts ? Front shocks just caught my eye being up forward like that . I was just curious . I have most of my parts to start on one .
I would add a lot of mass to it and increase the power.
They look great! Why the shorty? Wouldn’t it take a full length lipo? And because it’s made from Tamiya ABS you will baby it so it doesn’t need $330 of Treal axels

i'll give you that it does look really good but other then that what good is it, you can't rock crawl it, or bash it, or track it, you try any bigger jumps and the things just going to bounce like a ball and end up on it's roof, what clod busters did best was sit on a shelf and look pretty and you don't need no special frame for that....
Curious….why do some people run 2 ESCs? Seems you don’t need 2, as even the kit comes with only 1

1:40 the WP880 is discontinued in favor of the QR880. So far the QUICRUN looks identical?
The quicrun is a very good esc for that price
