Try the Genteel lancing device. It's expensive, but well worth it for me. It uses vacuum technology to pull enough blood out. I always had trouble getting an adequate drop size (maybe from poor circulation, low blood pressure?). Also, I have fibromyalgia, so I'm ultra sensitive to pain, especially repeated stimulation of nerve fibers. Genteel allows me to extract an adequate sample, and best of all it works on alternative sites. I can test on my arm or leg, and thus avoid repeated fingertip pricks.
I am looking for a lancet device that you simply push the device against the finger till it clicks. like the disposable one time use ones they use in the hospitals.
On the AccuChek Fast Clix, do you have the ability to use each lancet in the drum more than once before you click onto the next one? Reason I ask is I want to save some money on the lancet supplies by using each lancet for as long as I can. Thanks for your time.
Technically they suggest you should not. A thin silicone layer on each lance reduces pain upon puncture. It wears down with multi use, so it might hurt more. You could probably use twice. But I'd not do more than that. Though I understand how expensive supplies are. On the plus side, the actual lances can't be touched by anyone so it's as sterile as possible, even with multi uses.
@@FourJaysFour I use the AccuChek, the one shown here. Not sure if mine is the short or long. I've tried a few different ones but I'll be staying with this one. I'm the only person using mine and I use the same needle for quite a few pricks, until it starts to hurt a bit, then I click it over to the next lancet. Loved your video, mate.
Wrong, “no lancing devices in 1992”?!?! What socioeconomic set did you grow up in?!! I was diagnosed in 1980 and I ALWAYS had a lancing device (and we had to use a bottle of water and blotter paper on our test strips while a timer on the glucose machine of 4 mins ticked down). As long as there has been home tests there has been lancet devices.

Thanks for your video. I’m 72yo and just got diagnosed. And I’m an anxious needle person. I’m going to go with your recommendation.
Awesome video! Very informative and entertaining! Keep it up!!
Awesome video! I like your style providing information...
Can use retry a lancet if you fail? Or does it lock up or force you to move to the next one?
