    What did you all think of this show? I felt like it was an INCREDIBLE show for just a local show in Northern California. Let me know what you think!!

    I sort cards, prep grading orders, and watch YT videos at night. Your channel is on my list. I am sitting here, and I'm like, "I know Justin," and I sent him a msg on FB and this link, haha. And some of the cards you saw at his table I slabbed! I'm like, "yep I slabbed that one and sold it to Justin, that one too..." lol. How's that for a small world!

      I need some help prepping cards for grading... any advice on who or what to follow. Any chance you are near Sacramento? I am just too nervous as it seems like every time I touch my cards I inflict a minute amount of damage. It's usually from aggressively sliding a card back into a penny sleeve or something like that.

      @@Mvp-7 I live near Sacramento. True Sports cards and collectibles is a card shop in Rocklin. They’re good guys up there and I know they do grading prep and group submission. Check out their store and ask them about it. They’re also putting in a big 3 day show in May. Tell them I recommended you to them.

      @@MidLifeCards Already all over that card show after I missed the one in the fall as my car died the week before and had to dump my card money into my car :(
      If that is the card shop across from Dick's I've been there once and had a great time going through their boxes. I live in Grass Valley so its a little bit of a hike but I will definitely look into them for group submissions and the prep. Do you know if they will crack BCCG slabs? Thank you for your time.

    The thing I love most about the T-206's (besides the historical significance) are the great names of some of the common players most have never heard of. Tubby Spencer, Hooks Wiltse, Doc Crandell, Red Dolin, Rube Geyer, etc. Love it.

    • @MidLifeCards

      I couldn't agree more. One of them is named "Molly Miller" which is my daughter's name. I have a feeling I'll end up buying a "Molly Miller" t206 at some point. Great point!! It was a completely different era.

    As a vintage collector, this was a delightful video to watch. As a set collector, I had idiotic thoughts about putting together the T206 set fifteen years ago and after acquiring about 40% of the set, I gave up as prices went through the roof. There are sixteen different backs (not stamps) and depending on which cigarette pack it came from depends on the value. I have a handful, but sold the rest to buy other cards.

    • @MidLifeCards
      @MidLifeCards  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow. Taking on a t206 set sounds like a large undertaking. Understandable why you had to pull the rip cord. All of the different backs makes it seem overwhelming to say the least. But, they do interest me, so I'm going to start doing more reading about them to better understand the different backs and stuff. Appreciate you comment.

    Holy mackerel, what a great show with all the great vintage, those t206s , so many of them. Here on the east coast, I don’t see much vintage at the local shows and the prices are a good bit higher here as well. If I was at that show I would be there all day looking at all that awesome vintage.

    That first or 2nd vintage guy was extremely high on prices. That’s what I usually run into at these shows. Obviously you can get deals, but most of these dealers are just too proud of their cards. I mean a Gibson psa 2 asking $600….that’s almost double what they go for.

    • @MidLifeCards

    Thank you for sharing your experience at the card show and providing Justin info. That T206 collection is impressive! I have a general question at these shows. Do they sell any high end raw cards, that are not graded? Do sellers take credit card, paypal or venmo?

    • @MidLifeCards
      @MidLifeCards  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great questions. Every dealer is different. Some sell only graded stuff. Some sell only raw stuff. Some have some raw and some graded. I'd say 85-90% of the "expensive" cards are graded nowadays at card shows. But, yes...you can still find ungraded high end cards at card shows. Some dealers take paypal and/or venmo. But, there have been some changes in the tax law over the last year or two where many times dealers don't want to, or have a different price they'll take because of the tax implications. At the end of the day, to answer your question...yes, there is some raw stuff available and I'd say about half of the dealers take some form of electronic payment at card shows.

Pretty sure the next one is April 15 and 16. I won't be able to attend that one though. My wife's birthday is the 15th and my daughter is attending a Soccer ID Camp on the 16th. If you search @thecardattic on Instagram, I think you'll find him. I believe he's based out of Vallejo. He's a great guy. He has tons of autos like that.
