    If you experience any lag, I found disconnecting my PS5 HDMI got rid of all of my lag entirely. Sony needs to update the PS5 and Portal asap to fix this issue!

      Port forward on router and static ip can helps alot if you really don’t have some shitty router, its main reason of lagg. Or you need good router(it means around 200-300E) I found that deco mash wich I have for 200-300E works perfect for remote play, once I connct back to main router from provider it sucks, then when I connect back to deco routers it works amazing even If Im not home). Also I read that people who change resolution from 4k to full hd, or people who have connected ps5 to 1440p monitor experience smooth gameplay.

    I think a lot of people are are also forgetting as much as the PSP sold which is to date about 80 million units, it was able to alot, it had a web browser and had all these different functions but because of that access it left it easier to hack and pirate games. They're not trying to make that mistake again...

    • @DRE2XL
      @DRE2XL 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I genuinely think PlayStation are testing the waters with the Portal, to see how the world reacts. They've literally done the bare bones to get this product out, it has literally no processing power of its own so they have saved money on internal components and already have the game library and infrastructure to let us play remotely. It could be a serious WIN if they can nail down this lag issue and enable Cloud Streaming on the Portal. No other game catalogue has the exclusives Sony does and if the Portal works as expected it will be unbeatable, on price at 199 and the game catalogue. If I had to buy separate games for this that didn't work on my PS5 I'd be pissed 😂

    I love the “lifestyle” conversation. This is very much a lifestyle device. My son has been sick with a fever and an ear infection this week, so he’s been kind of chilling watching on the main TV. Bam. Portal. Perfect. This week alone has paid for the Portal 😂. He’s on the mend! But man, I got to play my Ps5 either way while we hung out.

      You don't need to pay that much. I spent $60 on a Huawei AX3 router and I have no input delay even when playing online shooters. Port forwarding and static IPs won't do anything. But separating your 2.4 and 5 GHz bands into two separate SSIDs will. You need to use an isolated 5 GHz access point to get 1-3 ms latency. And you need the PS5 connected to Ethernet. Though I have heard people are getting a significant reduction in input latency by disconnecting the HDMI cable.

    • @azarfe11Life25
      @azarfe11Life25 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mmstick has somebody who's been doing remote play for over a year the port forwarding and static IP address actually does help with a more consistent connection..
      And this is somebody who has a nighthawk router at home that's wired in to my PlayStation 5... There's a misconception out there that just because something doesn't dramatically improve a experience for you people paint it as irrelevant a lot of other variables go into that but overall putting your PS5 in the static IP and port forwarding will help..

    I like the PlayStation portal because I like to be able to play games on the go but at the house. So for example I barely play consoles anymore because you have to be tied to a tv. I’d like to be able to play in bed, play while walking around the house, play while sitting on the couch and be able to still feel connected and close to the screen. I hate playing on tv it’s so far away and I feel disconnected to what ever I’m playing. Maybe it’s because I watch all my movies, shows and TH-cam on a tablet. So I got used to having the stuff I play or watch in my hands really close to my eyes. So anytime I’d play games on tv, I just ended up feeling disconnected and would get distracted and bored. So I want to play ps5 graphics but in my hands really close to me and feel way more connected to what I’m playing. That’s why the portal is perfect for my situation. Also I don’t leave the house much at all because of how bad my anxiety is so I’ve always been used to playing my handhelds at home and never actually used a handheld on the go. And I owned the switch, psp, ps vita, steam deck, game boy, ds & 3ds. And yeah I’ve played all those at home never on the go.

    The only thing I really don't like about it is that it gives connection issues like when you're right near it, the PlayStation 5 and then it loses Wi-Fi connection a lot and it's not very good for COD. Otherwise I think it's perfectly cool and good. I don't mind it. Those are just my few issues that I have with it is connection issues. I'm hoping it gets fixed with her next update

    [Next as its streaming games it can look and play badly the more that's going on for instance playing a single player game that's not graphically glorious with a fairly empty world it's fine but a game like say dying light 2 or destiny2 with friends it's terrible. Then there is the terrible battery life of around 4 hours.]

    It's about value. It's not about people not understanding, it's about Sony charging $200 for a streaming only device that doesn't even support Bluetooth or a functioning web browser. Too many people saying "well it allows me to game away from the TV." So does a smartphone with a Backbone streaming from PS5. So does a laptop streaming from PS5, so does a Steam Deck streaming from PS5. Portal doesn't make any sense in 2023 specifically because of its limitations. Sony copied WiiU and screwed it up. Portal has limitations that don't exist on hardware many gamers already own that can achieve the same function. Trying to justify this device at $200 in this era would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

      $200 is just buying a round of drinks for your buds…

      "so does a smartphone"
      End of the discussion, don't even need to further read your comment.
      Just another I don't see the point so you must be the same people.
      Ow my phone can do the same and even better than tv, why would I need a big size display tv?
      Oh my phone can do the same thing, why do I need a big Android tablet?
      Oh my normal small phone can do the same thing, why do I need a flip phone
      Ow my tv can do the same thing, why would I need a projector

      In all of your examples, the portal is the cheapest option for remote play. Just saying.

      I get your points, the issue we have is the Duel Sense Edge controller accessory is £210, so the Portal being a fully fleshed out Duel Sense and a screen for £199 isn't so bad, obv £150 would be ideal for me. The Portal does the same as other remote devices just better and more comfortable, if anything we are paying for the comfort of the duel sense features and a beautiful 8inch tablet screen. But if you consider you can play your entire PS game library with full duel sense features, more or less anywhere with an a solid internet connection, with wiggle room for improvements like cloud gaming potentially its actually not too bad. The lack of Bluetooth pissed me off though but then the PS5 doesn't use Bluetooth directly without a usb dongle connected but even that doesn't work on the Portal so yeah meh 😅

      Bro I really feel you on a logical level
      PSP growing up and being able to game wherever in my house amazing, I didn’t have a smart phone growing up so the web browser on PSP was amazing I have an iPhone now, it’s not for everybody but I know that I didn’t always want to sit in my gaming chair and desk to play games and this makes it so I can do that in style
      So logic yea , emotion and nostalgia and comfort ooohwwweeee as a fellow gamer im having a great time :))))

    It's like Vita but without a brain, just remote play, Vita has better features than than split controller glued on a screen. and I know they just need to add another program for the vita to remotely play with the ps5 but they chose to make a thing that will just be forgotten in a few months.

    What makes you say they wouldn't be able to fit the guts of a ps5 into a handheld? Is that an assumption, or is there some data behind it? The steam deck has the guts of a PC, so my assumption would be that a PS5 can achieve the same.

    • @ItsSamuelJones
      @ItsSamuelJones  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Wouldn’t have the same power and efficiency as the ps5 requires large fans and heatsinks to operate at a high level. There are graphics cards bigger than a steam deck

    The fact this runs over wifi, the fact you have to have crazy good wifi & my experience with trying to use PS remote play makes me completely turned off by this.
    Your connection is only as good as your weakest source, so unless you have fucking CRAZY hotspot speeds or friends with crazy good wifi, you are not gonna have a good time at all....
